We had a fight a few months back and it was planned. He was slowly feeling the darkness taking over his soul because he found out IC he wasn't really a Stolar and that his past had been made up. He had once been some great Dark Lord or something like that.

As for leaving the Jedi...I am not sure if this was entirely IC or not. It sounded a bit OOC as well...but I guess it was his decision in the end...and it's sad to see him go...
