I am sooooo serious!!! This is NOT Nup. I am positive, he would never do this. For starters it was in spanish. I saw the attachment and luckily...I have hotmail and it said it was a WORM virus!! Oh and another thing...when I went to write supposably nup back to question this...the email was said to be not an active one (well something like that) VERY STRANGE!!

Soooo...please be careful!!

And..Nup my friend, I tried to see if you were online now but you are not. I am afraid I can't be on much longer I have to be at work at 6:00am. Oh yeah fun :rolleyes

Oh, you will be okay if you use Yahoo or Hotmail, they scan attachments pretty well and wipe out viriuses fairly well.

Like you said it runs through your adress book, which includes, your ISP E-mail your hotmail and MSN Messaging. It goes through your computer and looks for pornagrahic files, anything of perticuler intrests and stuff...(of which im not exsactly sure) and them sends them to who is on your adress lists on those programs i said. When you try to boot your comp it wont start back up...making you have to reinstall practically everything.

dont use an address book. What I do is keep an e-mail from anyone I NEED the e-mail to, or have it listed in WordPad.

I believe the worm goes by 'W32.Kitro.E.Worm'. There are possibilities of other aliases to that. I myself got that worm, it was a letter in spanish that was supposedly from someone I knew. It ended up being a worm that didn't do much.

It multiplied itself in my Windows folder. There were many but I can name two names it went as in that folder:

Testdeamoryamistad

There was also a file in the C:\ drive that was named "banderanegra" meaning black flag. This was part of the virus.

It messed up all of my MP3s and added a few files that said "Playstation"

The subject of the email I had was 'Test de amor y amistad' which means 'Test of love and friendship.'

I got it in hotmail and it didn't detect it so be careful hotmail users. Don't open any attachements.

I believe the original email was sent from South America because in the "banderanegra" file there was a South American country that I unfortunetly forgot @_@

So yeah, let's say I investigate the worms that infect my files. Luckily it didn't do much damage. Be careful though.

I'm posting to offer a suggestion. I know it's paranoid but it might be needed. It could be possible someone hacked into Nup's password or something, and sent it from his e-mail. If that's the case, he/she might be impersonating Nup here. Just beware if his user name flames or tells you to do something against your better judgement. I'm just trying to help. I'm sure it's some kind of freaky virus.

You can tell automatically if its the worm because it will say the email is from the email address. That doesn't make much sense, but what I mean is on MSN it pops up saying:


You have received new mail from floyer_gryphon@hotmail.com

Instead of:


You have received new mail from Idolon Mortiferus (or whatever you might have set as your name in your hotmail profie)
