After 10 long hours, about half of it in freezing rain and hail, I have now officially climbed Pike's Peak!!! I've lived in its shadow for about 5 years now, but this was the first time I've taken the trail up. The day started out nice enough, but about 2 hours from the top, the weather changed (as it loves to do in Colorado) and started dumping a ton of rain on us. Then that turned to hail... We came close to turning back, but ultimately we forged on and we made it... Ok, so maybe it wasn't world record time getting up there, but WE MADE IT!!!
Anyway, I just had to "shout" for joy having accomplished that! :)
