Hooooo boy! I'm starting to think not even ILM has this much raw rendering power. This is just amazing what WETA have racked up in their computer racks now

Pretty impressive. I have no idea what kinda trump card ILM has, but I'm sure they have one. ;)

I'm sure they do too. They also seem to have the cream of the crop as far as cg animators go. But the folks who did LOTR did an unbelievable job. :)

I would have said Pixar myself - they have done things that have been more unbelieveable than ILM CG-wise. Pixar and Dreamworks are the ones really pushing CG with their animated features that just get more and more incredible with each passing movie.

Well I'd say that ILM and Pixar are sleeping in the same bed. IMO it was the Episode I teaser trailer ending in .mov that really made Quicktime a household name, and I've been using it since 1990.

Lucas created Pixar didn't he? And then sold it to Disney?
I still think ILM's podrace and the Coruscan cityscape in AotC is some of the best CG ever.
