Okay, an X-Wing is 12m long. I would estimate they are 9m wide, and 3m high. What would you say could be the MINIMUM size for a hangar for one, bearing in mind that it has to be able to fly in.

You would need to have you support staff, the gantries and such. I would think probably at least three times the lenght and at least five times the height. Still, tin that type of area, you would have ot be a resonable pilot and speeds would be well reduced for safety. Now, if you added the other items like refuelling and maintenance.... no, wait, I would not put fuel i a space that small. Risk of an accident would be too high. However, maintenance would be able to fit in there most likely as well. So I guess 3 times length all round and 5 times height

Hmm, may need to play with the Falcon-esque suspension of belief then (You ever tried fitting everything in that? :)

I'll just have to be clever about this one :)

The hangar would only have to be large at all because of repair equipment. The Massassi temples on Yavin 4 had notoriously low entryways, and other than that heighth room to turn around in (not that you even have to turn around) would seem to be all that is neccessary. But for a hangar, I'd say you'd need a fair bit of space around the X-Wing. Twice as tall as the fighter on it's landing gear would seem to be fine, though.

The only real reason I set out what I did was to give a far bit of safety tolerances, especially up. Now, if its got maintenacne facilities, most of the lift gear would be up in cranes or gantries, which would need to be set quite high. I'f its for a single X-Wing and it's only a parking place, the space would be somewhat smaller. Add maintenance and anything else, the space would have to be more. It seems to me that even if the entrances were low, the actual hangar interiors at Yavin were fairly tall

Hmm....

y'see, I'm trying to fit an X-Wing into a frieghter. And it can be done, nps at all. It's just wether it can fit into the one Im currently looking at. I think that if I just increase a few measurements and some specialist equipment (Customisation job, accept the best:)), then it'll be fine. OTherwise, there's other choices

Hey, Luke stuck his X-Wing into a freighter during The Last Command...then again, he also had to BLOW UP the freighter to get out, but hey...it can be done.......:lol

Dont worry, found the answer exists :)
