The Next Step In A New Beginning (COUNCIL)

OOC~ A note, this happens before Soolin and Xazor reconcile because this thread happens right after Nothing is Ever Forgotten. Probably the reconciliation happens after this thread :)

IC~ After their talk (http://www.swforums.net/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=14569) aboard Soolin's ship and a quick stop to the mess hall for some breakfast, Navaria led her friend and Grimya to the Council Chambers inside the temple.

Soolin sought approval from the Council to actually be a member of the Order. There were many amongst the Jedi here that believed in the same ideals that she did, especially those of the Warrior ranks.

Navaria was also pleased that her friend was staying because of the history that she unfortunately shared with Xazor. It was a horrible tale of death and suffering. Even with those differences, Soolin had decided to stay and not run off in anger to the Warrior
Knights presence here.

Once inside the Council Chambers, Navaria bowed to her friends and fellow Jedi that shared their position with her.

"Greetings to you all. I've come with a special visitor."

She stepped back and motioned for Soolin to come forward.

"Soolin Anjhurin is the last of long line of Jedi and wishes to stay here amongst the Jedi here on Yavin."

With a reassuring smile, Navaria looked to her friend.

"I could go on about her at length but I feel it's best for her to voice her reasons and concerns about joining the Order."

She returned to the Council.

"It's why we are here before you today."

' Good morning Soolin and welcome to the Greater Jedi Order' Kelt said with a very warm smile, his hands tucked behind his back. he only finishing breakfast himself only moments ago.

" Greetings Soolin. Welcome to the the family!" he spoke with a radiant smile.

:: AB nodded as she smiled towards her friend, then turned to acknowledge Soolin, her way of indicating it was alright for the woman to speak. ::

::Leia smiled at her dear friend Navaria and then looked on at Soolin::

::Bowing her head slightly at Soolin, Leia began to speak::

Welcome to Avalon, Soolin.

[Soolin Anjhurin]

:: Soolin bows, her eyes traveling to each of the resident Jedi in turn ::

"I am a Warrior Jedi, the last of a clan that perished in battle five cycles ago. In that time I have traveled the sea of stars, with Grimya as my only companion."

:: motions to the large white she-wolf that stands at her side and continues ::

"I do not seek retribution against the killer that hides among you, and I do not seek to join this Order. I live by the oath that my clan fought and died for, but my sabre, and my pike, are at your service."

A very quiet man stood int he shadows, face hooded and hidden and observing passively without comment. He listened to the unknown Jedi's words

And took silent note of her claim to be a Jedi Warrior.

I must arrang to speak to this one later he thought. We may see things in a very similar light

(Jubei looked to his childhood friend...a look of concern coupled with that of gratitude in her arrival here. The Calanic monk only wished she would not abandon the teachings of her people)

Soolin said her piece and Navaria stood quietly at her side, waiting for those of the Council to bless her wishes on being an ally of the Order.

[Jedi Master Leia Solo]

::The petite Jedi Master titled her head some when she heard Soolin speak. One sentence truly stuck out in her mind::

Please forgive me Soolin. But you said the one that has caused your clans demised is among one of the Jedi in this order? I must say that strikes some concern to me. I would think the others would feel the same way.

::Leia glanced around to the other council members seeing if they would add anything to what she just said::

"Not the devil who led them, but one who bears a sith mark beneath her Jedi robes. Xazor Leo Kama was there that day, as a dog of war."

Taa blinks, a look of confusion on her face, as she looks from Soolin, to Xazor, and back again.

:: Anbira's interest in what Soolin had experienced, was piqued ::

::Leia's face turned to one of grave concern::

You say Xazor was there when your clan fell into the sith's clutches. Please do go on. I think it is important that we hear the whole truth of this tragedy. Including the sith who now hides amongst us.

::The Jedi Master steepled her hands and rest her chin on two fingers as she continued to listened to Soolin intently::

:: Soolin's eyes lock upon Xaxor's, as if to hold her in place where she stood, and spoke ::

"My people were crusaders, dedicated to the eradication of evil wherever it dwelled. We went to Cysaria, to purge that world of the Sith forever. Then Draegen's horde fell upon us ..."

:: her fingers twitch at her side as the memory of it threatens to overtake her again.

Sith in black scaled armor and tattoed faces, howling with murderous lust as they rode upon draconian horses.

Grimya could sense the emotion in her two footed sister, and nudged her hand to bring her ease.

Soolin takes a deep breath, then speaks again, her eyes still fixed upon Xazor ::

"... they were too many. For every one we slew, five more came."

Xazor sat in her Council seat, unable to say a word. She trembled a bit as words were passed about her. A Sith hiding in the Jedi? I am not a Sith anymore!! The words screamed out in her mind and rocked her soul. Her eyes searched those of Marcus who kept his distance. He knew her heart....better than anyone here....why was he not saying anything? It made her frustrated, but she remained silent, seeming to be imprisoned by the locked glare that Soolin was casting upon her.

The Knight shifted her weight in the seat and grabbed her dark robes tighter as her mind wandered to the tattoo upon her left bicept. She wished to hide that from everyone.....so she did so by wearing deeply colored robes....long sleeved......all the time. Only in sparing with her Padawans did she ever reveal it.....but not purposly. Sighing, she bowed her head to the woman across from her.....wondering what would happen this day. What will they think....no one knew this but a few......she can't possibly wish me to remove my cloak! Oh Marcus.....I feel like a group of wolves.....my own pack.....is circling around me..... She let her thougts flow freely through their Life Bond.....wondering what was in the minds of those around her....

Sitting in a chair set out for Jedi to listen to the Council, Salemn was very alert. Her brown eyes darted back and forth from Soolin, Navaria, Xazor.

Xazor.

Distress flowed throughout the body of the Council Member as she sat in her high chair, watching Soolin. How Salemn longed to reach out and tell her friend that everything would be okay - that she wasn't a Sith in hiding because she changed her ways. She became a Jedi.

But instead, she sat tight-lipped, watching the event fold before her eyes.

What will they think....no one knew this but a few......she can't possibly wish me to remove my cloak! Oh Marcus.....I feel like a group of wolves.....my own pack.....is circling around me.....

The thoughts swirled in his mind as he sensed Xazor's distress. Pausing for a moment to consider what to do, he came out of the shadows, moving quietly, his fottsteps barely making a sound as he made his way to behind Xazor's Council seat, He reached out and placed his hand on her shoulder, his facial features barely viwable in the the hood that covered his head.

Be calm. You are not a Sith, you are a Jedi. I know you heart - do not let your past dictacte your future

His hidden eyes were however fixed on Soolin, wondering where this was going to go

Xazor's heart lept in her chest as she saw all of the eyes of her fellow Council Members fall upon her. Those were not the only though...her friends and allies....and Soolin's. She took a deep breath and watched Marcus...one of her best friends at the Order....slowly walk over to stand behind her seat. She sighed to herself and closed her eyes as he gently placed his strong hand upon her shoulder.

Be calm. You are not a Sith, you are a Jedi. I know you heart - do not let your past dictacte your future

His words encircled her mind and heart...letting her know that all would be well. She kept her eyes upon Soolin....hoping that the woman across from her would be able to keep her emotions in check....for she was doing a good job as of yet....Xazor just did not wish to be responsible for anything more that happened....

Thank you Marcus....your words are wise and I shall heed them. I just hope that everything does work out for the better....I really do.....

She spoke softly in his mind...as if they were his own thoughts. The Knight remained sitting upon her chair...her gaze fixed on Soolin though she felt other's eyes piercing into her. She felt as though this was judgement day...and no matter how she had tried to atone for her sins...it was not good enough....

:: Anbira's eyes turned slowly from Soolin, to Xazor. ::

OOC~ Well Xazor, guess ya got into this afterall :lol =P

IC~ Navaria saw that Anbira was awaiting a response from Xazor and Soolin had halted in her story. It was quite evident that her fellow Knight was not willing to speak for now. Xazor's emotions were running rampant at first but she was still in the process of calming down.

The past was quite turbulent for both of them and Navaria sensed that it was still appropriate for her friend to continue on with the story.

She looked over at Soolin and motioned with her head to continue, offering a small smile reassurance.

[Xazor Elessar]

The Knight took a deep breath and held the gaze with Soolin...although she felt everyone's eyes on her. Navaria eyed her and then nodded to Soolin to continue, but Xazor had something to say....she couldn't hold it back any longer.

"What she speaks is the truth......I fought there that day.....I led my Army against theirs......and we outnumbered them as she also said. I killed many in her clan....I killed them without thinking at all. And in the end, I felt good about it....and I was rewarded for my acts. I was rewarded with this!"

With that, the Knight rose from her Council Seat and removed her cloak, leaving her in a white tube top and black pants. On her left bicept was the Mark of the Most High.....a tattoo encrypted in her skin....blood.....and DNA, unable to be removed. She turned to show it to everyone there....and then put her cloak back on.....resuming her seated position.

"My fiance killed her brother...........and I nearly killed Soolin. If I would not have been tripped.....I would have succeeded. But I have changed.....you have seen it! If not I would not be sitting here this day among you. But I atest to this.....she speaks the truth......"

The Knight swallowed hard and steepled her fingers, resuming the lock with Soolin's eyes. It was hard for her to have said all of those things....but it needed to be heard. Her heart ached for the pain she had caused so many. The blood of thousands was upon Xazor's hands and there was nothing she could do. By becomming a Jedi....she thought that she was forgiven....but there were those whom did not forgive her and thought she was still a Sith just hiding in the robes of a Jedi......

:: Anbira arched an eyebrow at Xazor's words. So then, it was true. He turned back to Soolin ::

You show restraint, now in this time of revelation. That may be the greatest testament to your virtue that you can present to us.

The Dark Side of the Force is a blight. It withers, and cuts away things from our lives that we hold most dear. It is a most perilous path in reprisal to such wickedness. Many who are the agents of evil we now fight...started down that black path seeking what they viewed as the same justice we seek.

[Soolin Anjhurin]

:: she bows to Anbira, and speaks calmly ::

"I came here for truth, not vengeance."

[Anbira Hicchoru]

And what shall you do when the truth you seek is yours?

:: He interlaced his fingers together, deep in thought. ::

"I do not understand your question. I have presented the truth before this council, and I have offered my service to this order. It is for you to decide the future."

[Jedi Master Leia Solo]

::Leaning on her hand, while her arm was propped up on the arm of her Council chair, Leia listened intently to Anbira and Soolin's conversation::

:: Soolin stands and waits in silence, looking at the faces of the Council and the other Jedi that were present. Would she be accepted, as Xazor had been? Or would she be leaving after all ... ::

:: Anbira nodded to himself, as he mulled over his thoughts ::

So be it. I put forth a motion to accept Soolin Anjhurin into the Order.

:: He looked to the other council members ::

Xazor had been silent for quite a long time, her eyes were resting upon Soolin as thoughts raced through her mind. The Knight bowed her head slowly and side glanced the other Council Members.

"I agree that Soolin should be accepted into this Order...."

She said softly, unsure if it was right of her to speak.....she hoped that it was....
