Anyone watched the original?

Just got myself the DVD and I have to say, the original is completely superior to the remake. The car chase is a classic and of course the original that's all it was supposed to be - a car chase carrier. A mighty fine one it was too.

I really hate the remake even more now. It just is staggeringly bad - an even worse plot, boring action and worse car chases.

And Eleanor mk II was nowhere near as good as Eleanor mk I. Like what other movie can possibly get away with the headlining star being a car? Maybe Mad Max, but certainly not the dribble that is Gone in Sixty Seconds the remake.

Dont waste your time with the remake, get the original.

I didn't have that much of a problem with the remake until they jumped Elanor over the blockade on the bridge. That absolutely ruined the movie for me. I still have to get my hands on the original though...

It's worthwhile, I guarenttee it. The for real damage they did to Eleanor in the original is amazing and that it still kept going.... there is one hit that is just plain sickening cause it must have hurt doing it.

I enjoyed GI60S, but I have no idea why. It started promising, then nothing really happened except Vinnie Jones and Nic Cage being good to watch until the final chase, which had me and my mate in stitches (As the car in front pulled aside, all they needed was an angelic choir and a light from the skys beaming down on the truck:))

I didn't want to see the remake in the theaters when it came out. When I saw it on cable I foudn out that I was right.

I like Nicholas Cage, Angelina Jolie and Giovanni Ribisi, bt thsi movie was pretty pointless.

I actually felt sorry for the owners of the cars they were ripping off, and I didn't think the car theives were interesting or cool or compelling at all.

The whole 'steal 50 cars in 24 hours' thing seemed really silly.

About the thieves. I remember a magazine talking about them. Cage, Jolie's Lips, Fat black comic relief, Thin black comic relif, Big scary guy, computer Geek. Think that summed it up :)


I found Jones to be brilliant in his part. But the other subcharacters were just flat.

I tended to find the hacked over "You have to do this or we kill your brother" was pathetic. Oh, so we are supposed to have sympathy for Cage and his gang then? Honestly, that stank.

The other thing I liked about the original is the lack of special effects and it's fair amount of realistic feel. Oh and they showed some of the mistakes, like when they took out a power pole and didnt mean to. That was even a touch funny.
