The old style Padawan walked into the large training facility, his eyes scanned the room full of diffrent objects and weapons, it was certainly diffrent to the medievil type fighting area Kelt was used to.

he raised a brow when he saw a few what they call Lightsabers hung up on the shelf, he had used one once and did not like them...but he guessed it was Marcus who was going to teach him.

Kelt sat down on the floor, crossed his legs and waited for Marcus to arrive before he discarded his over cloak. his face was quite expressionless as be rubbed his swords silver surface with his thumb thinking of how far he had come from home, the new things he had to learn, his new friend dasquian who both had taking a very friendly likeing to eatchother, Kelt had never had a real good friend and it was a nice experince to have one.

Kelt heard the door open and stood up in a flash Sheahting his sword in is sheath on his back and stood like a soldier to attention.

"At ease"

Being a long time soldier himself, Marcus responded accordingly to Kelt's stand to attention.

"No need for that with me Kelt. Strictly imformal when we train one on one. "

At the sight of the sword, the Master grinned.

"Prefer a real blade do you?"

' Yes master, on my homeworld of Shazmack we do not know of such things as lightsabers, i dont even have one, but would like to learn, although my tradition is still with the blade.' He said with a warm smile, his master was certainly of the well traned and he was looking foward to learning from him.

"Ahhh..... well there are somethings that can only be done with a blade and there are some thing that can only be done with a lightsabre. It is wise to know your weapon's limits and then exploit them to the maximum. On one hand you have a weapon with no real weight, but a bad tendancy to gyroscope, verses one with a lot of weight, but can be used in straight lines easily. One is able to change direction fast, the other is not. It is also wise not to get fixed with one particular style either, in case you have to use another type. Now.....w e can probably not worry about the true basics which is wearing on both teacher and learner... so what say we go straight for a sabre, so you may learn it's capabilities?"

Kelt picked up a free lightsaber which in time he would be bonded to like his own brother, the saber was a very pale blue and its hilt was blac, gold and silver, he liked this one the best as it suited is style. Kelt held the saber up and backed into a sutible stance and waited for his masters insructions with a smile.

' Its rather light compaired to my sword.' He kindly said.

"Yes, they are"

From his side, his own sabre was summoned with The Force to his hand - the highly unusal archaic sabre Athona. Twn handled with the hilt in the middle, it ignited into deep red and then began to colour strobe.

"This is a heat weapon. The blade is a plasma charge contained by a force field, a magnetic effect. It is this magnetics that cause the blade to become a gyroscope at times and not easy to handle. Ignite the balde and swing it slowly. You will feel the sabre try to go it's own direction, so be careful"

The light blue saber sprung to life with the activation of the switch. Its great pull as master Q'Dunn had explained was there in a instant jolting in his hand a slight bit but Kelt had it fermly under his control. Kelt held his arms out directly in front of his and swished the saber from side to side getting used to the saber that seemed to have a mind of is own.

He gave a quick smile and tried a technique he used with his short sword and twisted the saber around in his hand to that the saber was inverted and then again twsited the saber so it was once again upright, a very intriguing weapon indeed, and with a quick jolt forward with his arm the saber was jabbed forward as if he was parrying thin air, a smile of satisfaction swept over his face.

' Its like working with a long sword, the weight of the longsword is like the sabers magnetic force.' He said with a wide grin to his new master.

He then twisted it again so the saber was held like you would a baseball bat and then in a clean slice he cut the air with the saber as if he was hitting the ball like a bat. He looked as if he was enjoying working with the new device.

"In a way. But try cutting the air like this with a sword"

The weapon moved in the Master's hands, looping and curving, allowing the gyroscopic effect to take the blade where it wnted to go, circling and darting about, making twists and turns the weight of a sword would make impossible.

"The lightsabre has no momentum of it's own and hence has to be controlled differently. It is more precise and gliding, slower even. It is too easy to strike too far, although easy to change direction. "

' Care for a quick parry sir?...modern tactics verse fuedal....' He said with a grin raising his saber into a parry position to start the small engagement.

' Can you show me a few basic moves with this contraption?'

"Why not"

He stepped back, his body side on and the sabre held out much like a fencing rapier

"When you are ready"

Suddenly Kelt from a long pause jabbed at his master holding the saber with two hands, it was blocked without strain. But Kelt dummy jabbed and instead of sweaping back left he twisted the saber inverted and as he leaned down and shot back up in a upper-cut arch the blade sweeping toward his masters face.
