It was so long ago, that time did not have a meaning. Ulic Qel-Droma said the databank, the last known one. It was because of him that there had not been another, for in his story the trails and traps could be seem. For the Jedi now looking over the databank, he himself had come perilously close to the same traps the the Jedi millenia had come and nearly bought disaster on himself. He still remembered his narrow escape from The Dark Side..... and what it had done to him... remembered as he read the story of the Jedi Warlord Qel-Droma

The path of the Jedi is rarely an easy one. Perhaps one of the most trying ordeals of Jedi Knighthood belongs to Ulic Qel-Droma, hero -- and villain -- of old. Ulic, a native of Alderaan, lived four thousand years ago, when the Jedi Knights were plentiful, and the Old Republic continued to expand. Ulic's mother was a powerful and respected Jedi, but she refused to teach her sons --Ulic and Cay -- for she felt she lacked the necessary emotional distance to be an effective instructor. Denied that path for the early part of his life, Ulic instead concentrated on other areas of study.

As a young man, Ulic was pure of heart and purpose. Some called him arrogant, but others said he was possessed of an unbounded confidence. Those in the higher echelons of Alderaanian society scoffed at Ulic's endless ambitions and constant successes. No one field was enough for him to triumph in -- Ulic would quickly tire as challenges became lesser and lesser, and would move onto other ventures. Academically and physically, Ulic excelled and became popular -- much to the chagrin of his naysayers who doubted his sincerity.

As Ulic grew into a man, so too did his strength in the Force grow. His mother could not deny him his heritage much longer, and she sent Ulic and Cay Qel-Droma to study with Jedi Master Arca Jeth on Arkania. It was an era of adventure and exploration, when Jedi watchmen were assigned to new systems to maintain order and justice. It was a time when Jedi Masters would take on multiple apprentices, readying them for the challenge of being a Jedi Knight.

Ulic already had a natural talent with the Force, and it was through Master Arca's training that he refined that raw ability, and learned to wield the Jedi lightsaber. Ulic trained with Cay and the Twi'lek apprentice, Tott Doneeta. They would sharpen their martial skills against combat droids, and learn wisdom from Arca Jeth's many stories.

The three Jedi students were soon given their first real task. Arca Jeth was given charge of the worlds of the Onderon system, and he sent the Qel-Droma brothers and Doneeta to bring a peaceful settlement to the centuries-old civil war tearing Onderon apart.

The Jedi arrived on Onderon aboard their starship, the Nebulon Ranger. The Ranger narrowly escaped attacks by the outlying Beast Rider warriors before landing in the walled city of Iziz. There, they made contact with Onderon's ruler, Queen Amanoa and her daughter, Princess Galia. The two royals spoke for the long-sequestered King Ommin, said to be convalescing in his advanced age.

Ulic was barely on Onderon for a few hours before he had to prove his warrior skills. A team of elite Beast Warrior Commandoes stormed the Royal Palace, absconding with Galia. To redeem the Jedi image in Queen Amanoa's eyes, Ulic led his fellow Jedi in a mission into the wilds, into Beast Rider territory, to rescue Galia.

The Nebulon Ranger tore into the skies over the Onderon forests, only to be shot down by a well-placed Beast Rider seeker-torpedo. Tott Doneeta's talents in speaking with the giant boma beasts gave the Jedi transports to the Beast Rider's fortress. They stormed the citadel, only to discover Beast Rider Oron Kira in the process of marrying Galia. The Jedi were surprised to discover Galia in love with Kira, and that it was the outlying warriors who wished for peace, and the city-dwellers who perpetuated the war.

The Jedi continued to learn more of Iziz's dark secrets. They learned it was under the pall of the dark side. Four hundred years earlier, a Sith student named Freedon Nadd brought the power of the dark side to Onderon, and his descendents included King Ommin and Queen Amanoa, whose forms were riddled with the dark side.

The Jedi joined forces with the Beast Warriors to infiltrate Iziz and demand Amanoa step down. She refused, and a huge battle erupted. In the battle, Ulic's brother was maimed but survived. The battle was turned by the timely arrival of Arca Jeth, who used Jedi Battle Meditation to turn the tide of the conflict, boosting the Beast Warriors' morale and letting them defeat the better-armed forces of Iziz.

Jeth used his power of the light to smother Queen Amanoa's darkness. The dark side momentarily defeated, Arca declared Ulic's first mission a failure. Though Ulic contended he and his fellow Jedi did all they could to avoid bloodshed, Jeth chastised his student for his failure to detect the dark side on Iziz. He later conceded that perhaps the challenge of Onderon was too great for his students.

With Amanoa dead, Galia ascended to the throne, sharing her power with her husband Oron Kira. This helped unite the rift that perpetuated the civil war on Onderon, but there were those loyalists to the old order that refused to let the new government rule unchallenged. These loyalists -- Naddists -- sparked a violent uprising within the days that followed Amanoa's funeral. Ulic Qel-Droma, Cay and Tott Doneeta were in the heart of this conflict, joined by the Jedi Oss Willum, Dace Diath, Shoaneb Culu, Qrrrl Toq, Kith Kark and Nomi Sunrider.

During the Nadd uprising, Arca Jeth was held captive by the vile King Ommin. Ommin, a frail dying human was kept alive and enraged by the power of the dark side. His ravaged body was held erect by a disturbing metal frame. Ulic, growing increasingly enraged by Ommin's posturing and the threat posed to his master, cut down Ommin's armored protector, Warb Null. Ulic eventually cut through to the heart of the darkness itself, cleaving Ommin's metallic armature with his lightsaber blade, leaving the crippled old man helpless and dying. The spirit of Freedon Nadd claimed Ommin's life, and made the cryptic proclamation that one or two of the assembled Jedi belonged to the dark side. The spirit of Freedon Nadd even declared that Ulic would be one of the "great ones."

Nadd had voiced ancient Sith prophecies that said the Dark Lords would rise again. It was Nadd that lured a pair of bored Force-sensitive elites from the Tetan system to the war-ravaged world of Onderon, to initiate them into the Sith heritage. Satal Keto and his cousin Aleema would go on to forge the Krath, a secret society of social elites in the Empress Teta system, who dabbled with the dark side and Sith magic. The Krath grew restless, and staged a coup that toppled their parents from command of the system.

This alarming event led Ulic Qel-Droma back into battle. He and Nomi Sunrider were dispatched to the Empress Teta system to investigate. Aleema used Sith illusions to mask the true size of her attack force, and Ulic's Republic task force were stymied trying to determine which of their attackers were real. One of the Krath Chaos fighters crashed through the Republic command ship Reliance's shields and hull. The explosion claimed many lives, and Ulic was wounded by a piece of flying shrapnel. Nomi nursed Ulic back to health, slowly letting him closer to her heart. The Republic task force retreated from Empress Teta to formulate a new attack plan.

The Jedi convened a massive assembly at Mount Meru, on the planet Deneba, to discuss this new threat. Ulic proposed a daring and foolhardy plan. The Krath conspiracy had spread far too deep into Tetan society. It must be uprooted, he said. And the only way of doing so was for one Jedi to infiltrate the Krath, and learn its secrets -- to defeat the dark side from within. The Jedi Masters thought him foolish, and warned of the inevitable consequences of starting down the dark path. Before the debate could be settled, though, the Krath sprung a surprise attack on Deneba, employing deadly battle droids. Many Jedi fell to their lifeless attackers, including Master Arca Jeth. Ulic cradled his master in his arms as the old Arkanian Jedi faded away, into the light.

Ulic blamed himself for his master's fall, and resolved that he would join the Krath to destroy it. Nomi pleaded with him not to underestimate the dark side, but Ulic's ceaseless confidence cancelled her words. To prepare for his mission, Ulic studied the Sith holocron kept by Jedi scholar Ood Bnar. Bnar warned of the twisting power of the dark side, but Ulic saw no alternative.

As he left, Ulic shared words of departure with his brother Cay. Cay was most concerned about Ulic's mission, and feared that he would never see him again. The two embraced, and Ulic promised that he would return. Ulic shared a final kiss with Nomi Sunrider, and then, disguised as a smuggler, departed for the city of Cinnagar, in the Tetan system.

In Cinnagar, Ulic came across a demonstration of the Krath's cold and absolute rule. Aleema was to publicly execute a carbonite trader who had rebelled against the Krath. The trader sprung free of his capture, and attacked Aleema. Caught by surprise, the Sith Leader's life was in jeopardy. It was the first of many trials for Ulic. He lashed out and killed Aleema's attacker to show his loyalty.

While Aleema was enamored by Ulic's handsome and brash ways, Satal was nowhere near as trusting. Deep beneath the Iron Citadel of Cinnagar, Ulic underwent grueling torture and examination administered by Satal Keto, to find out his true purpose. Satal, toying with his captive, speared into Ulic's side with a blade coated with Sith poisons. The insidious venom worked its way into Ulic's bloodstream -- the only way to purge it was to burn it away through complete abandon to the dark side.

Nomi Sunrider secretly voyaged to Cinnagar with Cay and Tott, to make contact with Ulic. She sought to find out what he had so far learned of the Krath. Nomi allowed her self to fall captive of the Krath forces, and Ulic ordered her imprisoned in the Krath dungeons. Ulic secretly communicated with Nomi, insisting that he needed to stay in Cinnagar a while longer. While he had learned a lot about the Krath, he needed to learn more. Satal intercepted this communication, and ordered both Qel-Droma and Sunrider executed.

His cover blown, chaos enveloped Ulic. His blood poisoned by Sith alchemy and his mind tainted by Aleema's advances, Ulic lost sight of his friendships, his loyalties, and his love. Nomi escaped from her guards, and called in Cay and Tott to rescue her. The Jedi fought through the Krath ranks, and almost succeeded in escaping, but Ulic stayed behind. Enraged, Ulic killed Satal Keto for the death of his beloved Master Arca, but the rage continued. When Cay tried to get Ulic to follow him to their ship, Ulic ordered Cay away lest he kill him. His fate was sealed. He was one with the dark side. He allowed the Jedi to leave while he remained on Cinnagar.

As the Jedi regrouped to stage a massive attack on Cinnagar, Aleema continued to tempt Ulic further along the dark path. She gave him an ancient Sith amulet that was a great focus of power. The Jedi attacked Cinnagar, and Nomi Sunrider and Cay infiltrated the Iron Citadel. Ulic refused the words of reason from Nomi and Cay. He saw them as weak and ineffective, like he was when he was unable to stop Arca from dying. Ulic brandished the Sith amulet like a weapon, and repulsed his former friends.

The Jedi finally decided to leave Ulic behind. He came here of his own choice. He was to live with his decision. Cay was not so ready to leave his brother behind. The other Jedi had to restrain him as they departed.

As the Jedi departed, a stranger strode confidently into the halls of the Iron Citadel. Flanked by Massassi guards stood Exar Kun, former Jedi and now Sith initiate. As the Krath had been unraveling their plan of galactic conquest, Kun had followed his own path into the darkness. A path that brought him to the Sith world of Korriban, and the Sith stronghold on Yavin Four. Now, he sought out the only other Sith practitioner who could challenge him -- Ulic Qel Droma.

Ulic and Kun dueled with lightsabers, a vicious battle fueled by terrible hatred. As they fought, the Sith amulets that each of them wore suddenly came to life, awakened from a millennia-long sleep by renewed Sith energies. The two talismans projected an ancient image of the grand Sith Empire of a thousand years prior. An ancient Sith spirit declared the two warriors as worthy of the Sith heritage. Exar Kun was branded Dark Lord of the Sith, and Ulic Qel Droma as his apprentice. A twin-branched Sith tattoo was emblazoned on Qel-Droma's forehead to mark his status. The ancient Sith dictated that Kun and Qel-Droma would be the instruments of the Republic's destruction, and the rebirth of the ancient Sith Empire. This marked the start of the Great Sith War.

Six months later, Ulic and Aleema were joint warlords of the Empress Teta system. Their claim to that system was challenged by the upstart nomad, Mandalore. The two entered into a personal duel on Kuar. Mandalore dictated that the duel take place on the open plains of Harkul. Mandalore's weapon: the Basilisk war droid mount; Ulic's: his lightsaber. The contest: Qel-Droma must hold his ground high on the chain-nets over Harkul as Mandalore attacks. The prize: the allegiance of the combined armies of Teta and Mandalore. Ulic's Jedi training served him well. He bested Mandalore, and the defeated nomad conceded his loyalty.

With this newly amassed army, Ulic disobeyed Exar Kun's more conservative orders, and sought to take the battle to the heart of the Republic, to Coruscant itself. An immense battle raged over the planet-wide metropolis. Ulic sought to capture the Republic's military command center, as well as the new weapons in production nearby. Mandalore captured the weapons cache while Qel-Droma took command of the war room. He ordered the Fleet dispatcher to deploy the fleet on a collision course. The dispatchers refused, and as Ulic was about to smite him with the Force, a team of Jedi broke into the command center. Using the power of the lightside, Nomi Sunrider and Cay Qel-Droma blocked Ulic's ability, and held him captive.

Ulic was marched before the assembled ranks of the Galactic Senate, but he refused to repent for his crimes. He decried the Republic as meaningless, and spoke of the coming Golden Age of the Sith. Exar Kun arrived to free his captive apprentice. Kun overpowered the Supreme Chancellor of the Senate, making him speak his words of Sith victory. The Republic was powerless to stop Kun from marching out of the Senate Hall with Qel-Droma.

The next battleground of the Great Sith War was the Cron Cluster. Aleema, at the cost of her own life, detonated the supergiant stars within the Cluster, sending a deadly shockwave of destruction toward Ossus, the Jedi stronghold world. The Jedi worked desperately to evacuate Ossus and preserve some of the Jedi treasures and artifacts held there. In the confusion, Exar Kun and Ulic Qel-Droma arrived on Ossus, and began pilfering the ancient Jedi storehouses.

Cay Qel-Droma confronted Ulic. The two dueled in a lightsaber battle, and Ulic killed his own brother. Ulic was stunned by his actions. The murder of his beloved brother was enough to shake Ulic to the core of the man he once was. Nomi, distraught at the depths to which Ulic had plunged, attacked him through the Force. She used her powers to strip away Ulic's. The assault was total. Ulic's Force-ability was cut off to him. He was a mere mortal, and his spirit was ultimately broken.

The Jedi abandoned Ossus, and sought to bring an end to the Sith War. Ulic revealed the location of Exar Kun's base operation: Yavin 4. The combined forces of the Jedi and the Republic were able to stop Kun thanks to Qel-Droma's betrayal.

Ulic, powerless, dropped from sight. He fled from his pasts and went into hiding. For a decade, he wandered, lost in his thoughts, his grief, and his guilt. A decade later, keeping his identity secret, Ulic hired transport from a down-on-his luck spacer named Hoggon. Hoggon delivered Ulic to the scorched jungles of Yavin 4, the site of Exar Kun's final defeat. There were too many spirits there to haunt Ulic, too many painful memories. He sought somewhere even more isolated.

Hoggon brought Qel-Droma to the frigid planet of Rhen Var, a world slowly emerging from the grips of an ice age. Ulic chose to live in an abandoned fortress atop an icy mountain. On a walk around the castle, Ulic fell into an ice cave-in. He lay still for hours, ready for his life to leave him. But it didn't. He imagined the spirits of those slain -- either by his hands or the hands of his accomplices. He saw visions of Cay, and Master Arca, but if they were the product of the Force or a dying mind, he knew not. Although cut off from the Force, Ulic still possessed his great inner strength. He willed himself to live, though he knew not why.

Elsewhere, the rebellious teenage daughter of Nomi Sunrider, Vima Sunrider, wished to find Ulic Qel-Droma. She wanted to learn the ways of the Jedi, and her mother was far too busy as leader of the Jedi assembly to deal with her. Vima hired Hoggon, the same pilot who took Ulic to Rhen Var, to help her track down her master. Hoggon was surprised to see an image of Ulic, and was shocked that he had been carrying a wanted criminal in his ship. He took Vima to Rhen Var.

In the eerie, empty corridors of the Rhen Var palace, Vima confronted Ulic. All Ulic could see in Vima's big blue eyes were images of Nomi. She was a reminder of all his pain, and he wanted nothing to do with her. Vima pleaded to Ulic to train her in the ways of a Jedi. A sudden, terrible ice storm stranded the two of them together in a makeshift shelter.

The two spoke in the warm glow and silence of a glowcube. Vima voiced her desire to be a Jedi, and Ulic warned of the high and often-terrible price required. Despite everything that befell Ulic, Vima still saw him as the man Nomi fell in love with -- as the great Jedi warrior. Ulic began training Vima in the construction and operation of a lightsaber. Although blind to the Force, he still could handle the elegant weapon. While Ulic was teaching Vima, she taught Ulic how to appreciate life again. Together, with their lightsaber blades, the two of them carved an immense statue to honor the memory of Arca Jeth and Andur Sunrider.

Nomi Sunrider finally came to Rhen Var for her daughter. She and Ulic stared at each other -- a thousand things that could have been said but weren't floated between them. Nomi saw the giant ice sculpture that her daughter and her former lover carved together. Finally, Ulic was beginning to find peace.

At that moment, the Cathar Jedi Sylvar sought out Ulic Qel-Droma to kill him, in vengeance for the death of her mate. Sylvar confronted Ulic, and a heated lightsaber duel ensued. Ulic refused to fight. He reasoned with Sylvar that vengeance was not the path of a Jedi. At the final moment, Sylvar too put down her blade.

It was at then that Ulic was murdered. Hoggon, an admirer of the Jedi, fired his blaster weapon and pierced the heart of Ulic Qel-Droma, a mere mortal. In Hoggon's eyes, it was the act of a hero: the death of a villain. For Ulic, it was a final rest and a final chance to die in the light. Nomi cradled Ulic's dying body. Qel-Droma asked for a final forgiveness… one that Nomi already gave. To Vima, the light that let Ulic see through the darkness, he gave a ring-necklace that he carried. His life force gone, Ulic's body vanished in a shimmer of energy. Perhaps, even though he no longer heard the call of the Force, he still had the heart of a Jedi.

During the events of the Sith War, Ulic was a tall young man with fair skin, brown eyes and tousled brown hair. He wore the heavily layered cloaks and armor of the Jedi of that era. At the time of his redemption, Ulic's experienced had aged his body beyond its years. His brown hair had begun to gray at the temples, and his face was weathered and hardened from exposure to harsh elements. The Sith tattoo that he wore on his forehead was carved away, leaving only x-shaped scar tissue. At the beginning of his training, Ulic carried an elaborate lightsaber with a yellow-green blade. Later, he adopted a weapon with a blue blade, and later still, one with a yellow blade.

He paused as he finshed reading the story for who knows how many time. It had stuch with him and resonated, for he knew but Qel-Droma and him had floowed similar paths in the Dark Side - but for the then Darth Venom, the order to slaughter an innocent family was too much. He had turned and renounced the Dark Side, found love and had found peace. But Helenias was seperated from him and in some ways, Marcus had regressed - not to Darkness, but his oaths of peace had come to nothing. In his heart he lived for battle and in battle he had made a name - winning renoun with his sabre as Turbogeek. And even if Jedi were not Warriors, or so it was said in the time of the New Republic, he had been given the rank of Republic Warlord

Right up to a day when a blaster shot finally took him down. Crippled, a clone had taken his place, so no one knew. And in that had been born Tohmahawk. A General, whom he hid behind, recouperating and once again coming to the fore after he was forced to be rid of the clone. A General whom he was happy to be and hide hi s Jedi heritage and knowledge. But there came a day when he was nearly killed once again and thins time, he had no more disguises, no more places to hide. All was stripped away and he came face to face with the real man whom he was. And as he reclaimed his Lightsabre, he also found his wife and was reunited.

And in the Light, he found new meaning and new purpose like he never had before. Finally, he found whom he was. There was now no longer any denials and there were no backing away like he had done in the past.

Marcus Q'Dunn was a Jedi Master.

Marcus Q'Dunn was also a Warlord.

And he now knew both could live together. By learning from past mistakes and also of another Jedi Master, whom had been a genuine Warrior, Plo Koon, whose memory he honoured. By those two, he now knew what to do.

The Jedi sat in a clearing on Yavin IV, sword placed on the ground in front of him as the fire in front crackled and popped . It was early evening on the tail end of a wonderous day and he sat peacefully on the ground, smoking his pipe. And waiting, for he had finally made the call that the others had been waiting for.

He was calling those who wished to be Jedi Warriors together for the first time. He was a Jedi Master to some, but to these whom would be coming and answering his summons - he would be their Warlord.

We have stood aside for long enough. The time is ripe. It is time for the Jedi to arise and take back what is theirs. Who is going to join me I wonder?

Chase Starwalker

Chase felt Marcus's thoughts as they played within his head. A unique perspective Starwalker had on the force. He had recieved the call to meet him there, to train - to learn the ways of the Warrior Jedi. It was perfect for such a head strong Jedi as himself. Chase thought a warrior was needed in times such as these. The Jedi most not cower to evil of this galaxy, instead fight it head on, with compassion.

The evening sun was dimming slowly as young Starwalker made his way up to where Marcus was sitting. Dressed in his formal brown Jedi robes he approached Marcus. A slight bow before he sat down in the clearing...he was the first to arrive.

"Greeting Master Q'Dunn. I have come as requested."

whetstone.. one two.. cloth..

Sparks jumped in the dimily lit room of Chance. Resting on his lap layed a slim rapier, to the left of the boy a whetstone, and to the right a polishing cloth. He picked up the stone and ran it down the length of the rapier twice, dropped it, retreived the cloth and repeated the process..

His eyes slowly opened as the call reached his mind. Putting the weapon in it's sheath, retreaving his robes and dorning them Chance left the Living Quarters with haste, dodging inbetween others along the way yet again.

Soon he was out of the complex and into the surrounding area of Yavin IV. Birds chirpped and crickets replyed in return in the still evening air. Chance began heading in the general direction in which the call had eminated from, which also happened to be in the same direction as a plume of smoke from a campfire.

The boy soon entered a patch of woods, instantly he sped up and dodged through and over the forest's natural grown obsticles. Within five minutes, He entered the clearing where the call had come from. Silent, he stood on the outskirts of the thicket...

satine had heard the call. Picking up the weapons he was working on, and clipping them to his belt, Satine makes his way into the forest, dodging branches and brush easily, until he makes his way to just outside the thicket, choosing to watch first. Always suspicious.

::She looked around the area feeling the others, she stayed where she was.
She had joined the jedi warriors because she would always be a warrior inside, always there for the fight in some way. But now she also lived for peace and makign sure that peace prevailed. Perhaps both bits of her would do something useful. She looked at everyone and a small smile lit her face::

May the jedi prevail.

Liam smiled. The two girls in front of him smiled back.

"So you ladies ready yet?" He added as he held out his hand. Twins..Mmmm.. he thought. Both girls giggled and took his hand. They made their way down the hall, Liam making small talk. As they neared the door, he felt the call.

"Perfect timing!!" He shouted, the women each giving their own quizical look at the Jedi Master. "Sorry ladies, duty calls.."

With a slight chuckled Liam gave them a hug and jogged towards his new destination. A few minutes later he made his way into a clearing, Marcus sitting in the middle of it, a few others gathered around.

"Alright, what do we have planned Marcus?"

Xazor Elessar
Jul 7th, 2002, 08:24:18 PM
Xazor sat in the Living Quarters that she shared with her husband, Shade. It was a beautiful evening as she sat upon the meditation platform right beside the large bay window and looked out. She had just received a holo-message from her husband and was in the middle of watching it.....for the tenth time in a matter of a few minutes...when thoughts crossed her mind that were not her own. Of course the Life Bond that she shared with Jedi Master, Marcus Q'Dunn....ran strongly in the background of her own thoughts....but he too was deep in thought. A smile crossed her lips as a request for the Warriors entered her mind.

I'll be there in but a minute's time....

She spoke through their Bond and checked the weapons that were already on her belt and strapped to her back. A large assortment of artillary dotted her body...she looked like a walking armory for the way that she outfitted herself. My armor... She then remembered and looked into the corner of the room where a stunning outfit of deep colored metal sat. The Knight had to quickly disassemble herself and run over to it...then began the tedious efforts of putting on the layers. She had definatly gotten the time down, and the giver of the gift...Helenias Q'Dunn...would have been very proud to see her in this rush.

A smile danced upon the Garou's lips as she placed the weapons back upon her body and then finished the dark and beautiful ensamble with a black cape. She fastened it to each shoulder clasp and then looked at herself in the mirrior. Holding her helmet, with dark gloves inside, in one arm...she nearly gasped at the sight....recalling the day that she recieved the work of art. She then remembered the call...and made her way out of the Living Quarters and to the location where she knew that Marcus was.

After several minutes of walking, the Knight stood behind him and smiled, then tapped the Jedi Master on the shoulder. Of course he knew that she was there....he could sense her coming and knew every step that she took all the way from her room....down the stairway....up and down hills until she reached her destination.

"Greetings my friend....the Force is with us...."

Corin was desperately trying to lift the small pebble in front of him with the force when he heard the calling. he wiped the beads of sweat away from his brow still confused on why he could not lift anything through the force.

He got up found Elise and clipped her to his belt. then he jogged on down to the clearing. he saw the padawans and master Q'Dunn and Xazor in a circle around the firelight

"Greetings Masters"

Corin bowed low for both of them and did likewise for the rest of the padawans.

I knew the call had been coming. I knoew that Marcus, my husband, my love and my soullmate would be beginning to move with something I knew htat was close to his heart. I knew, for in the short time we had been reunited, we had spoken on this very subject. I too shared his views in some ways and I would support him with my heart and all of my soul.

There he was, in a small clearing. There was a fire burning and I saw his sword was on the ground in front of him. His legs were crossed and I sensed he was watching for others that were coming. He also had a datapad, of what I could guess - was it Plo Koon or was it Qel-Droma? Qel_Droma was a warning of the risks and what could go wrong, while Koon I knew was almost an idol, someone he looked up to and emulated to some degree - a Warrior of pure heart and true in The Force. How he wished he had met Koon in times before the Empire wiped the Jedi out.

I came into the clearing, selecting a space and sitting on the ground. My sword I placed on the ground like Marcus and I awaited for what my husband would say. My adoption-daughter, Xazor was already here and there were other Jedi I did not really know. I stayed silent and waited patiently.

Seeing Helenias, and his sister there, Satine shrugs, and steps out from the shadows, seemingly appearing out of thin air beside his sister.

"Hiya guys," he says, his voice light, like it nomrally is...

Chance, noting the sitting positions of the others, calmly strode torward with fire. Back streight and calmed, Chance came to stop at the fire across from where his Master, Xazor, now sat.

Placing his right fist over his chest, and bowing over it in respect to the Masters and Knights plus nodding to Corin and Chase in a silent hello, Chance unbuckled his bladed weapon and sat it in front of him as he sat down also.

:: Loud footsteps could be heard as a running Jedi joined the other. The padawan's breathing was intense for he had ran a lot. As his apple green eyes delightfully starred at the other Jedis, Lance bowed to all of them. Lance had already seen all of them at least once and he walked over to where everyone was seating passing his hand through his hair Lance quietly sat down near Chase and crossed his arms waiting for the next events::

Jedi Master Leia Solo
Jul 8th, 2002, 09:13:33 PM
::A petite Jedi Master wandered on to the clearing where she heard "The Jedi Warrior Meeting" was going to take place. She seeked to speak to Master QDunn. Over the last few weeks, Leia contemplated her role at GJO. Being a council member, she always tend to lean on diplomacy. But lately she had other thoughts. The Jedi Master has had her share of fights with the Sith in trying to maintain the balance in the force. Again...ever so much being diplomatic in her thinking even if it was with a lightsaber. But things have changed in this Jedi Master's thinking. Yes...diplomatic thinkings will never be one she could put aside. But now the Jedi Master felt she will have to make a stronger stand on the outside. For diplomacy doesn't always work::

Xazor could not believe when Leia requested to join the Warriors. But she was a Jedi Master....and a friend....she would prove very helpful in the cause of this group. A smile danced upon her lips as she eyed the group...and then was instructed to place her weapon of choice in front of her. She smiled mischeviously and looked at Marcus.

"I cannot place myself and the Force....in front of me....I consider myself a weapon and the Force is my ally. But if you wish...."

She paused and unclipped a Saber from her belt....choosing it above all of the other weapons she was adorned with. It had a shiny silver hilt with openings on both sides. It was a double sided, duel-phase weapon of great strength. It separated in the middle when she wished, to create two Saber. Its name, Love was engraved on the top of the hilt. This weapon was a gift to her from Jedi Master, Sage Hazzard, on her promotion day. It was very special to her, and she used it well as she had promised him that she would. Smiling, she placed it in front of her.

"This is my weapon of choice....next to the Force and myself..."

She said softly, knowing that others might find her answer a bit strange...but it was not to her...it was the truth. She was a weapon and she used the Force to aid her. A Lightsaber was no match when it came to the Force.....

The Jedi Master closed his eyes and kept them colsed for a few minutes, meditating on The Force and what he would say.

The words he began with spoke of a Jeid that he had studied and in some ways copied...

"The Force runs strongly in Plo Koon's family; he was a descendent of a long line of Jedi. Plo Koon was a Kel Dor from the planet Dorin. His physiology was such that he wore protective goggles and his face-concealing antiox mask whenever in oxygen-rich environments. As a Dorin, Koon naturally possessed highly developed extrasensory organs that supplement his already formidable Jedi attributes.

Koon was more martial a Jedi than most. Kel Dor natives have a reputation for seeing moral issues in black and white, with clear distinctions between right and wrong. As such, Koon often took decisive action with little contemplation. This initiative served him well during the Stark Hyperspace Wars, when he took up the Republic banner after a great Jedi Master was killed. Koon rallied the disheartened troops to an unlikely and miraculous victory. He was a Jedi Master and he was on the Jedi Council before The Dark Times. Plo Koon was a formidible warrior indeed and his seeing of black and white is what made him that."

Marcus opened his eyes and regarded the other Jedi that had gathered.

"Why are you here? Why have you come to my call? Is it that you wish to fight and negotiate with a sabre? You wish to have a blaster in one hand and a sword in the other, wading in the body parts of the justifiably killed? Then if you do, why are you not a Sith cause they claim to do that too! Do not sit here and think I call Warriors so that I may dispatch foes at the end of a sabre - far from it. A Warrior still knows peace and calm, a Warrior will still obey the Council. A Warrior is not reckless and agressive. So why is it you are here? My hope is that like Plo Koon, you see moral issues in black and white. My hope is that you act like he did, but more than that I hope you understand that a Warrior will uphold the defence of the weak, the innocent, the poor. To know honour, trust and true courage. To know hunger and pain and not complain. To be cold and weak but to still continue. To lead when there are none who step forward, to take resposibility - to use our gifts in the Force for not ourselves, but for others.

There is evil in the Galaxy that will not understand anything else other than a weapon. For us, this is what we are to face. we are the Point, the front guard, the first to go into battle. We are the leaders. More than that, some things a Warrior is to do is not quite what a Jedi is - stealth, silence, spying and occasional deceptions. Whom here are willing to go to the fullest extent of a Warrior?"

But now would come the diversion she would not know of.

"It is heartenign to see you all stand in untied agreement - but I will say this further. We are not an independant group, nor are we the Elite. We are Warriros and our purpose is to serve. Thence, you are to swear loyality to the Jedi Council and to obey it, even if it runs counter to what you believe. I do not believe the Council will stop our activities.... but we are not it's Master and nor do we move independantly. But more than that, you are answerable to me, even as I have submitted to the Council to it's authority. I may outrank all but I am held accountable and so will all of you. The Way of The Warrior can skirt too close to the Dark Side and with that you are to be cautioned that you will face greater temptation than other Jedi"

He looked about, before speaking again.

"And as such, because the Warrior ways call for more use of power, you have the ultimate price if you fall because you will be a true danger to all. If you fall to the Dark Side, you will be hunted down and executed. Think now and if you are truly willing, come before me and swear your loyality the Jedi Order. A large dense line of trees seperated the expanse of the clearing from the outer courtyards of the Jedi Temple. The sunset sprayed bright orange and red rays of light about the surfaces of the plain, the leaves of the tall magestic trees, and the smooth walls of the Temple.

The Jedi Master leaned against one of those very trees, his arms crossed, surveying the scene with a contemplative gaze. He could make out the faces of Jedi in the grouping... most sitting, some standing... forming a semi-circular arc about a single seated figure. The identity of that figure was unmistakable.

He watched and listened as they all took an oath... to the Order, to the Council, to justice... but it was more than that. Far more.

His eyes focused on the group even more intentely. They were all so willing to give themselves to this cause. So eager to be called 'warrior.' The shape of a slight smirk appeared on his face, pondering the very thoughts that surely swirled in the minds of these Jedi. On the surface, it had simplicity, and a degree of nobility that was undeniable, even to the most humble. It was a calling that, in many ways, seemed tailor-made for a Jedi.

The smile faded, to a more stern and serious look. It just wasn't that simple, though. There were ramifications and complexities that simmered beneath the clean-cut facade of the life that they now embraced... masked, shadowed closer than they could know, until fate would force them into confrontation... worse yet, was when that disturbing fate bore a friendly face.

The Jedi Warlord would guide them, and experience would teach them... but some things were best left unknown to even the strongest of the strong. He hoped... he prayed that that day would never come to pass for any of them... as it once had for him.

The Jedi Master remained at the treeline, stance unchanged, not wishing to disturb the proceedings. He would continue his observation, while quietly controlling the furor of memories that stirred within him.

It was evident, as she approached, that her arrival was one of the last. The force shone brightly beyond the forest, as within the clearing sat many who were strong with it. Some Masters, some Knights and some Padawans, but all with one goal, brought together by Marcus' summons. She too had felt the calling to the gathering, though had not sensed it until - she imagined - some time after the others.

Whilst walking through the trees she could hear people proclaiming vows, as voices familiar and new swore their loyalty to the Jedi and Order. Each was laying down both their weapon and their life for the cause which they followed. At the sound of this her pace quickened. She passed through the thickets of trees with flighty ease, coming to an abrupt halt as she began to push out into the clearing.

Alaina, instantly, felt out of place. She had no weapon to lay down, and had already missed what was probably the most important part of this session. She sighed and bowed before sitting down in a space within the circle in the clearing.

"I would say even that the time is becoming ripe when the Sith groups would face us and they would know it would not be a battle they can win. In times gone past, when Darth Trbogeek defied them, the Jedi were much, much stronger. Since then, times have changed.... but I sense that the Jedi are increasing in strength and the Sith are waning. It is however, not the Sith that worry me. She paused once again and thought about this. Just the fact that it was a Dark Jedi bothered her. Sith had many weaknesses...but a Dark Jedi....they were pretty strong from what she had gathered.

"Master....why would only one Dark Jedi do this? Would it not be more wise to call upon the whole group? Unless perhaps...he has his own reasons. But that would make him leaning toward the Sith. There is only one or two known Dark Jedi organizations to begin with...yes?"

Too many thoughts were going in her head now and she was probably way off target. He looked at Heleinias, they exchanged looks. Someone a lot like his wife.

...we have someone using what they have with a degree of restraint and wisdom...

...was more deadly than just a powerful one...

Chase raised his head in thought, for this was a delicate situation.

"Then whom ever it is, shall be dealt with accordingly. We must not under-estimate such a enemy."

Xazor thought about Marcus's words and sighed.

"He may be using his intelligence to mask his weakness. If we do catch him......we may very well be able to defeat him. True, knowledge is power.....but once that is broken, what real power will he have? An enemy is only as strong as one makes him."

The Knight knew this from great experiences in her past. She was not always the strongest enemy.....but the smartest one always won......unless the "spell" could be broken.....

Liam Jinn

Liam shifted on the ground as everyone talked around him. Slowly looking from each Warrior, he sighed.

"I doubt sending everyone at first would be a good plan. It would be much more noticable than just sending one or two people for gathering information. I don't think we should let the Dark Jedi know we're on to him or her until it's absolutely necessary."

Helenias Evenstar
Jul 28th, 2002, 01:04:23 AM
I knew why Marcus was looking at me. We had both been on Coruscant when there was a spate of Imperials assasinated - we had been involved in the assasinations ourselves. Maybe not a Jedi thing to do., but considering the evil we had ended....

We had encountered someone else, someone who reminded us of Turbogeek, but a good deal more presice and deadly. It still was the cause for discussion as we supposed who it could have been. High on the list was a second clone of Turbogeek Marcus knew of that lived with The Black Hand, but from what we knew, he was a simpleton, not capable of the daring acts we had witnessed.

Now there was some cross conversation I felt the need to reply to.

"No Xazor, that is not true. Knowledge can not be broken, it can only be gone around. The wisest can be beaten with something they do not know. Knowledge is a true-strength that can not be removed nor can it be met head on. It must be studied and a absence of knowledge sought to be used - a blind if you will. Remember, Intelligence and knowledge, used wisely, is the greatest of all strengths and one where the weaknesses can be alleviated. Now, i would suggest Mastr Jinn is correct, a small party should be sent to investigate further. I am willing to lead this party - besides, I need to take my Padawans on a training trip. This will suit them well and I will take whom would wish to go"

Xazor lowered her head slightly. She could not figure out why she was always wrong.

"I apologize for my lack of knowledge."

She could say no more about it....there was nothing to be said. Sighing, she leaned back on her hands and eyed Alpha when he volunteered for the group. Smiling, she bowed her head toward Helenias.

"I wish to join my brother and accompany you and whomever else on this journey....."

She said softly and watched for the woman's expression. The Knight wondered who else would dare to go on this mission......

Chance
Jul 28th, 2002, 12:14:03 PM
Chance silently listened as everyone around him conversed about the subject. Of course the threat would have to be looked into before anything could be done about it, rushing in headfirst is a good way to crack your skull so to speak.

"I would also like to accompany the group on this 'trip'. I know lies and things similar are not Jedi ways, but no one would suspect someone like me if we went into... say.. a big company to look into this thing." His elongated ears drooped slightly, maybe he souldnt' go into this part of the mess until later but.. eh...

"Do we know it is a Dark Jedi for sure that is doing this? Perhaps we could also send a team to Bast and find which of the Dark Jedi are unaccounted for."

He paused a moment, thinking over something in his head.

"Then we track down the missing Dark Jedi and hopefully, one lead may bring us to Coruscant. Though, how we'd go about finding who is missing might prove to be a challenge."

Marcus Telcontar
Jul 28th, 2002, 07:22:22 PM
"No Master Jinn.... I would not send a team to Bast, not unless I had no other choice. How many of you have faced a Dark Jedi in battle? If you have, I would say it would only have been one. Would you have faired well?"

Marcus shook his head

"You do not have to answer, I know what you would say. I know how poorly it would have gone. Among the Jedi, I alone have walked unhindered on the acid scortched surface of Vjun and I have even entered their castle, Bast. I have studied and assessed each one Dark Jedi I met and I have made a point of being aware of what they do. Now, I will tell you - even if I returned, I would only take the best Jedi of all. Any less and the mission would be more concerned with keeping other others alive. Would I wish to do this? It is suicide for anyone less than Helenias to go. Thence.... if I have to move against The Hand, I would want to know for sure that the course of action had to happen. The team goes to Coruscant first"

Liam Jinn
Jul 28th, 2002, 09:12:12 PM
"So little faith...I have fought Dark Jedi before, and won. They are tough, but you make them out to be some sort of superior beings. They all have weaknesses."

Liam shook his head and stood up.

"I believe you under-estimate your allies. Though by the time the Coruscant team returns, I believe it will be too late to go to Bast. I feel power growing there.."

Chase Starwalker
Jul 28th, 2002, 10:13:05 PM

Marcus Telcontar
Jul 28th, 2002, 10:22:51 PM
Laim is pinned by the weighty gaze of Marcus.

"Hear you nothing I said? Did I say they are superior beings? I am aware of whom is on Bast better than you do. Listen to me and you listen well. You do not face one or two Dark Jedi - you face a whole group and combined that type of power is not easily defeated. You need to be one like myself to think you could set foot there and expect to live. Would you think a Padawan can expect to face a Dark Jedi Master that I would be stretched by? No, to face the Hand will take something more than just power in the Force. Helenias herself had a very interesting battle with one of them that proved that at least one has tatical ability in the order of a Grand Admiral. One I know is a master of illusion and trickery. And Lilaena Deville is simply powerful in the Force. You combine this and you face an enemy that finally concerns me."

The Warlord shook his head.

"There are other ways to deal with Bast instead of the traditional way. The times I have been in Bast, I did not waste the opportunity"

Liam Jinn
Jul 28th, 2002, 11:00:31 PM
Liam felt Marcus' gaze and sighed. He was growing tired of what felt like Marcus playing favorites, maybe that was what caused him to snap. He shook his head again and returned the gaze.

"I did not say you said that they were superior beings. I said that you make them out to be just that. I did not say battle all those at Bast either. I believe some of them would be willing to negotiate anyway. And if not, what have we here? A group of Warriors that can't put up a challenge long enough for us to figure out who's missing?"

He began pacing back and forth, something on his mind. Breathing in deeply, he looked back at Marcus.

"What other ways do we have to deal with Bast?"

Marcus Telcontar
Jul 28th, 2002, 11:18:42 PM
"I make them out for what they are - a real problem of a magnitude that the Jedi have not realised existed. Why is it I have been the only one to even keep a watch over them, to step on their planet and observe them first hand? I know who's missing, Jeseth Cloak's apprentice. He has been gone for nearly a year and not seen. There is no need to go to Bast to find this out. There is need to go to Coruscant to work out if it is really them, for on this I am not convinced. It is not the way of The Hand. And to answer your question and statement, no, a direct fighting confrontation, the Warriors would lose right now. One of the secrets of a Warrior is never to engage directly an enemy until you are ready to defeat them. We are not ready. The purpose we possess is to make ourselves ready"

He looked at the Warriors, assessing them.

"A Warrior does not just fight with weapons. A Warrior uses methods that a normal Jedi would not. With sabres alone, the losses we would face would be high. The Hand calls for a different strategy and the main one is to break them as a group. One alone is weaker then 10 together, is it not?"

Liam Jinn
Jul 28th, 2002, 11:36:23 PM
Liam stopped, rethinking everything.

"Then Turbogeek is missing? Why did you not just say that? Then Bast can be dealt with later! Since we know who's missing, maybe we should split up the Warriors and send them in three groups? All at different times of course, then we can meet up and share what we figure out."

He slowly looked around, thinking over the numbers.

Xazor Elessar
Jul 29th, 2002, 08:58:01 AM
Xazor was frustrated that Marcus had not acknowledged herself and Liam. Both of them were good...not, perfect, but certainly not Padawan level. A Knight and a Master....they were a good team...they had worked together and gone on several tricky missions.

"But I'm ready! I can do this please...."

The Knight rose to her feet and stood beside Liam. She was basically pleading with Marcus to let her go. In her heart she knew that she was ready....she knew the risks and she was willing to take them.

Please.....

She spoke in his mind.....hoping he would see the sincerity in her heart. She would lay down her life for her Order....no matter what. Sighing, she crossed her arms and looked at the ground, feeling a bit ashamed of speaking out so freely.

"I'm sorry...."

Her words were just above a whisper but he heard them. The Knight looked over at Liam and then her eyes went back to the ground....

Marcus Telcontar
Jul 29th, 2002, 04:57:50 PM
"Do what? Die? Forgive for speaking bluntly, you may be good, but you are not ready to step foot on Vjun. Do you think I am such a fool that I would sacrifice the lives of ones I hold dear? You are wrong. I would preserve our strength until the time is right. And I will only move against Vjun when the time is right - when we all know what we face and Hobgoblin is taken care of. Once he is cut away, the rest will fold easily, for he is what is binding the Hand together. It is a weakness, a real weakness the Jedi used to have"

There was something prompting him in the Force, something telling him what needed to be done.

"However Xazor, you would be well suited to going to Coruscant"

Xazor Elessar
Jul 29th, 2002, 05:13:39 PM
Xazor's ego took a plunge at Marcus's words...but she understood where he was coming from. He held her dear and would not want to risk her life...seeing as though she had a bad habit of winding up in near death situations.

Sighing, she looked up at him and could tell that he was deeply in thought. The Knight looked away...out into the forest that surrounded them. She knew she was ready to go to Vjun...but Marcus wouldn't have it. She would not defy his words and go by herself as she once would have liked.....

"However Xazor, you would be well suited to going to Coruscant"

Xazor lofted a brow at his statement and eyed the Jedi Master for a moment. Of course she would suit going there...she had been there before....many more times than she would have liked. Coruscant was beautiful...but what would be there that would lead them to find this Dark Sider? She did not know but would do whatever he wished.

"Thank you my Master......I will do your bidding and go to Coruscant."

She wondered who else would be going with her...if anyone. Either way it didn't matter....but she did think it would be nice to have someone like Liam go with her. They were such a good team and worked well together. She looked over at her friend and winked slightly. He appeared restless and she wondered what was going through his mind. Pushing the thoughts aside, she faced Marcus once again and bowed.

"Tell me when and I'm there."

She was sincere in her words. Perhaps this mission would prove better than she thought...only time would tell what lay ahead of her in this situation....

Jedi Master Leia Solo

::For a long while Leia listened to the conversation deeply and decided it was time to speak up. She stepped forward and glanced around at her peers::

Master Q'Dunn is right here. The time has to be right to go to Vjun and now is NOT the right time. The move if it was to take place now...would be too aggressive and wreckless to attempt. We are just now grouping as "Jedi Warriors" That alone to many of us is a new concept as Master Q'Dunn has put it. Yes..we are all Jedi but warriors is another thing. For now, we must start off on smaller missionsl In time..when we are ready as a group , then and then alone can we consider taking on Vjun.

Liam Jinn
