I say we start up another dueling tournament. 1v1 one fights, mono e mono till the end to see the greatest RP duelist of all. Weapons are choice of competitors, so is force and whatever ya like. I just think it be a fun idea....

well, this time inactive players could be disqualified and the tourney could continue
that and have multiple matches at once, so it doesnt have to last too long and intrest be lost

Because it doesn't freakin work. I can only ever recall it working ONCE before. And barely at that. It took like 3 or 4 months even then.

Have 'em in a tree tourney. (1v2,3v4,5v6, etc) When you are schedualed for your fight, there is a 250 word max per post and a maximum of oh...say 40 posts(may change max further into round since longer fights are associated with better fighters). You have to post at leat once every 36 hours. That'll make it work.

The biggest probelm you will have is that few roleplayers who would be legitimately the better duelists will not participate. Not because who runs such a tornament, but because they are just not interested in that. The first tornament, which I ran did take 3 months and took too damn long to finish up and the title matchup was not done fully.

Which would still be an attractive match, Yog vs Lord Fire Blade.

Anyway, all I can say is that it would be a lot of work and you really need to attract some of the real long termers and I doubt that would happen, mainly cause they do their own thing and would not find a tornament attractive. Find a compelling reason for one or two to be interested and I would think others would join in.

I thought up an iron clad roleplay in which a tournament is perfectly feasible ages ago, truth is to pull a tournament off in a roleplaying way would take months to roleplay out before the tournament even started.

Unfortunately, tournaments are far-stretched.

takes too long those, besides too many ppl back out or don't have the time enough to keep the fight going every day....let's see, first one I had to pull out of due to bad grades and the second one, I seem to remember getting bopped off of the battlefield as Aisha *shakes fist at Anbira* but honestly the tourneys never work out..... *slices off Gue's head anyway* >D
