Lets just say AOTC makes 800 mil world wide. How much of that do you think George lucas gets to pocket, I mean after the staff is paid, the theaters are paid the promotional's are paid etc etc??

Good question...I'd say alot of it though. He's getting the lion's share, 20th Century Fow isn't raking much off of it.

Fox gets 8%, after that I am not really sure, in the US its like a 55 to 45 split (around that) Lucas gets the 55, but I am not sure what it is overseas.

I'd say he pockets at the very least 50%, maybe even as much as 70%. That would leave like 20-23% for Fox and even less for theaters.

That wasn't really the question.

In reality, Lucasfilm probably takes about 50% of the theatrical gross, which may be, let's say, $400 million. Then the movie itself cost $115 million or so. That is $400M - $115M, so $285 million. I even think that number may be a bit high. I would imagine lucas will profit a solid $200 million from the actual movie still, though.

And that still doesn't count DVD/VHS sales and rentals, the tv Deal with Fox, merchandise, etc. Lucas should profit close to 500 million after counting all of that.

I would not say $500M, hehe, that's way high. But he will pocket a solid $350 million in profit from this movie probably, before taxes.
