Box Office Contest Week 10, 4th of July Weekend special

Okay now we have reached basically the midpoint in the contest the all powerful 4th of July weekend, since MIB2 comes out on Wed I figured we will make this a 5 day week predict, so you must figure out the top 5 for this weekend for the five day period (Wed-Sunday), the points will be doubled so this is a chance for those are behind to make a run at the leaders. The deadline is 9am Thursday, as always I will take late guesses as long at they are in before the estamates. As for movie 3 films open Wed, MIB 2 (the obvious favorite) Like Mike and Powerpuff Girls.

well it was decided when the contest began that the 4th being a holiday would be a 5 day weekend, it also might be harder to find the five day figures. As far as the title I will see what I can do.

True, but it is for the US and that is why they are releasing it a day before the 4th to make more money :p If you want post your guesses now, if you think you might forget, I can't put it in the title because it would be way too long, I think the 4th thing gives it away personally.

I'm increasing my MIB2 guess now that I've seen the theater counts. I think MIB could easily pull in $30M+ in its opening day.

Lee's thinks it will make at least 120-140 million for the 5 days, maybe I don't know, he has posted the rest of the movies yet. I am going to wait till tomorrow, I am debating if Powerpuff Girls or Like Mike will crack the top 5. By the way MIB 2 is debuting in like 3500 theaters looks like the theater count is there.

I think it will make at most $100 mil for the five days. Are audiences really that pumped for this one? I don't really know. Personally, I thought MIB was Okay, not great. But I don't see it making Spidey, Harry, or AOTC type numbers... not quite.

the only conclusions I have made are that Road to Predition will not finish first, I think it will make around 25 million which is pretty good but will be second for the weekend, the question is what will Reign of Fire do it could open really high (40ish) or really low (under 20) and I have no clue there has been a lot of ads and there will be more for the All Star Game tomorrow so it will be really interesting. The only other thing I am certain of is Halloween what ever won't do well. I say that because of these horror films (Jason and Freddy) In every one where it looked like they killed the guy (Jason goes to Hell and Freddy is Dead) the next film they made bombs badly (Jason X and The New Nightmare) so I think Halloween will continue that trend.
