View Full Version : Boba kills Mace in EP3, cheesy or cool?

We know that Boba Fett is going to return in EP3. Well, at least everything points to that. My question is, will HE be the one to kill Mace? I know some Fettphiles may drool at the idea, but I can think of much better ways for the second most powerful Jedi in the galaxy to get taken out. I'd rather have Mace confront Anakin, Dooku, or even Sidious himself. A battle with any of those powers has incredible potential. But a battle with a 13 year old brat on a revenge quest? I'd be GREATLY dissapointed if Lucas resolved Mace's fate in such a manner.

Actually, I read recently that Lucas has stated that while Boba will be back in Episode III, his role will not be significant. He said something about Boba being in a "transition phase," trying to find his place in the galaxy, honing his skills, that kind of thing. So, it sounds like Boba won't be axing any Jedi after all.

I saw that bit too. It both reassured and worried me. I was glad to hear that he wouldn't play a major role, but kind of disconcerted that he'd be back at all. He's just too young to be much of a threat to anyone. But his being back does offer the possibility that he could seek his revenge. I'd just much rather see an older Fett try to avenge his father. Not a Daniel Logan version.

I think he said he would basically have the same amount of screen times. Here is what I think will happen, Fett will be involved somehow, I think he might rat out where Mace is to Palpatine or whoever and he will be killed in a duel I am guessing The Emperor because it would be cool to see how powerful he actually is, and now that Yoda has had a lightsaber will the Emperor get one too? I also see young Boba taking out a few Padawan's maybe he disengrates them and that is where that line comes from, either way he may disengrate somebody, maybe our old buddy Jar Jar ;)

Boba being involved, like saying where Mace is or something, I like, but not killing. Besides, Jackson refuses to die like a punk :)

As much as I would want to see Mace go down swinging vs a Sith, seeing him killed by Boba would just go to show the vunerability of the Jedi. 13 year olds are now having their way, it would be a great symbol of how peace and order in the galaxy have gone right down the crapper if pre-teens are having their way with the Jedi.

Or it could just plain suck. ;)

Yeah, there's always that possibility.
(I'm just trying to put a positive spin on something we're going to say we love regardless of what we really think! ;) )

I know I have heard repeated that Sam Jackson has talked Lucas into letting him die in EP III, but as the story goes, Vader and the Emperor hunt down the last remaining Jedi and wipe them out.
I would have liked it if Mace ends up dying off screen. I just dont think they will do his death any justice

Personally, I want to see as many Jedi die onscreen as possible.

The first time I saw AOTC, at the moment where Boba picked up Jango's helmet and touched it to his forehead, I thought for sure that meant Boba would end up killing Mace in Ep III. But now I think that isn't such a good idea, and with Lucas saying Boba will be about 13 in Ep III, that leads me to believe that we won't have a Boba vs. Mace thing. I think Mace will go down in the big final battle, and I have to agree, I want to see a major slaughter of Jedi on-screen. I know that sounds sick, but I think it's necessary in order for the impact of the destruction of the Jedi to be clearly felt. That's one thing that has been lacking in previous SW movies. Alderaan blows up, but we didn't see one leaf or one drop of water or a single citizen, so in the long run, it had no emotional impact. Even Leia seemed to be sleeping pretty peacefully in her detention cell on the Death Star a while later, when Luke barged in to rescue her. In ROJ, we have that one moment of an Ewok mourning over a lost buddy, but that didn't quite work either. In TPM, Amidala says, "Our people are dying," but did we see any of that? Nope. Finally, in AOTC, we started to feel the impact and the loss, with the arena battle. The moment where Obi-Wan is crouched over a fallen Jedi, feeling for a pulse, is wonderful. If Ep III follows this course, then it will no doubt be an emotional firecracker on many levels.

I think the Emperor will take out Mace, its perfect, Sam wants to get killed by a Darth and what about Darth Sidious he needs to show off his power he is just as powerful as Yoda and I would like to see why, all we seen is force lighting in ROTJ and now that Dooku has used that too, that doesn't look that impresive.

I think it is cheesy and an undignified death for Mace to die at the hands of a vengeful 13 year old delinquent. Unless Boba is an adult. But don't see how that is possible. A Mace vs Darth duel is in order and if Boba is involved, I would rather see it portrayed as Mace closing in on a sure victory over the Darth or equally matched with the Darth, when... alas... Boba instantly sways the momentum of the duel. Now that is how the second greatest Jedi in the galaxy deserves to go.

Sure that would be the dignified thing, but remember, the Jedi are about to lose every shred of dignity and respect that they've had. To see him knocked off by Boba would suck, but be fitting given what's about to take place in the next few years.

Yeah but what if Boba returns to Kamino and takes whatever the aliens use to accelerate the growth of the clones. Kamino's prime minister says that it takes half the time to grow a clone than to grow a normal soldier, it can be said then that a 10 yr old clone is the equivalent to a 20 yr old soldier (actually the clone army is ready in 10 years), so a 13 yr old Boba could be a 26 yr badass.
Anyway I heard Sam say on AOTC's red carpet that he talked to Uncle George and asked that his death scene was dignified and representative of his status as a jedi master, he said Lucas assured him that it will happen that way, so maybe Lucas wont have Boba kill him.
Just my two cents.

I think the idea of little 13 year old Boba Fett killing Mace Windu is totally messed up. I mean a little tiny kid couldn't defeat a Jedi Master even if he had every weapon known to the Star Wars universe at his disposal. It just can't be done. Now Dooku or Palpatine killing Windu, that's understandable. I mean they're super strong Sith Masters and Sith Lords. But if Boba does end up killing Mace Windu, I think he'll also be killing (or seriously hurting) Lucas' reputation and career.

Actually I think anakin will be the one to kill Mace. and Boba will help him out with it.
What better way to establish a relationship between vader and boba than to have them helping each other out while exterminating the jedi.

That would be pretty damn cool!

I personally don't think there will be time for that fight, here is what will have to happen, Anakin will have to fight Dooku, he will strike him down and become a sith lord, he then will fight Obi-Wan, I don't see him having time for a third fight, here is my theory of what will happen. Anakin will strike down Dooku, Obi-Wan will witness it, he will escape go back and tell Yoda, Mace, etc what he has seen, I think at this point they will learn that Palpatine is Sidious too. They decide to take on the sith, though Obi-Wan still feels he can turn Anakin back. At the same time Padme is there, for her safety they have Bail Organia and some Jedi escort her off Courscant to Alderraan, I see a big escape fight reminscent of the escape from Cloud City in TESB. Here we might see a few jedi go down maybe one of the biggies (Ki Adi or Plo Koon perhaps) The rest of the jedi will head toward Palpatine's location probably that fortress we saw at the end of AOTC, they will fight the guards some jedi will fall but they split up Obi-wan goes and fights Anakin (where the lava bit fits in who know there could be a factory near by I guess) Mace and the others reach the Emperor's chambers but Sidious/Palpatine finishes them off killing Mace last. Of course there could be a few changes there but that is one possible way that Mace could go out.

In one of the original drafts, his stronghold was deep under ground. Maybe he has a throne room waay waay down there.
