I had an african-gray... it had a sickness... it died.

The difference between cats and dogs is that dogs are loyal slobbery things that come when you call them. Cats take a message and get back to you. There are dog people (usually the same kind of people who need senseless and undeserved love & attention), there are cat people (who get by just fine, thank you, without having some slobbery creature stroking their ego) and there are dog/cat people (they are the rarest type). I am a dog/cat person. I also own a pig - no smart remarks kiddies!
Shawn doesn't remember being a cat person, but believe me I have pictures to prove otherwise. Speaking of pics, has everyone been over to the Meras Org. forums to see the cutesy baby pics of Shawn? The prettiest baby ever born, if I do say so myself.
Also, Shawn, is the dog you mentioned pre or post Mom? The reason I ask is that I think you may be talking about "Prince". He was a collie, not a golden retriever and was very devoted to you. Not bad for a stinky ol' dog.:D

at first I thought he was out to hurt all the cute little kitties of the world. Now I know he just wants to capture a witty bitty kitty for his very own.
My two cats, Denang and Bekka are the world's best kitties. They are both siamese (if you please) and I think it is really a shame that siamese, or a variation there of, were not included in any of the SW films. If Disney could do it, why not Lucas?
And, shhhhhhhh, I have a secret. When finally I get to see my darling son I am gonna get him the bestest puppy in the whole world - as long as he promises not to feed it to Strike and Draco. ;)

IWhen I met my now wife, at that point I hated cats. I used to try to run them over. Helen wanted a kitten.... swallowed my distaste and bought her one. Now we have three and I got one for my own and I want more! I love kittens and cats now!

The only cats I get along with are my friend Mat's cats. He got em as kittens and his family asked me to house-sit while they went to vacation at panama city. So I raised em for about 2 weeks while they were away. The cats love me now, so whenever I come over, they all kinda end up hopping into my lap. Now they're having kittens, and their kittens do the same. Its funny, cause if this cat family has any more litters, they're gonna kill me!

I have a 8 month old puppy - half old english sheepdog, half border coller. She weighs in at about 50 pds. When I bring her in the house my male siamese lunges at her, pounces on her back and starts biting and scratching. We actually have to pull the cat off the dog's back ------ siamese rule! Dogs drool!!

Jedi Neo

Yeah I'm not a cat person, but I know that you don't usually mix cats and dogs. And besides thats the first sign of the end of the world.

Cats and Dogs living together!

Don't any of you remember Ghostbusters? Wheres Rama when you need him?

Wytchy Woman
Jul 3rd, 2002, 12:33:45 PM
and Hunk what's so cruel about giving a dog peanut butter? Don't you think dogs laugh at us silly humans every chance they get? Dogs and peanut butter is almost as much fun as this: put scotch tape on a cat's right front paw and left rear paw and then place the victim on a hard floor. Watch the fun. I call this the kitty IQ test. Most cats will thrash around like they are having seizures. A smart cat will simply stop and pick the tape off their paws.
On a sadder note, I gave my pig away to a hog farmer this morning. He was just doing too much damage to the back yard with his rooting and all. Besides which, he had spent so much time with the dogs that he thought he was one. It was time for him to try living with other, actual pigs. It took four grown adults (well actually only three if you count my husband) to get him into a trailer - it looked like the 3 stooges meet porky pig!

Lady Vader

Hunk

How pig was it? I have to imagine size was a factor in your decision

Wytchy Woman
Jul 4th, 2002, 09:09:43 PM
The pig weighed about 150 pds. I didn't get any pics, unfortunately. My daughter got bruises all over from where the pig dragged her across the yard and my stepson has rope burns on both hands from where he 'demonstrated' to the rest of us how to properly lasso a pig. Sadly, the pig never got a chance to meet other piggies - he died yesterday afternoon.

A smart cat will simply stop and pick the tape off their paws.

That what my cats will do. I got lucky with my pack, they all are quite intelligent.

If you really want to have fun with a cat, get a laser pointer and shime it on the floor in front of them.
