“Sleep is overrated…”

Was the only thing Gabriel said as he looked at the door of his new room before him. He rarely slept for some odd reason; he never truly needed it except about two days a week. Being born in space probably helped that realization; his empty red eyes and pale face were fairly prominent of someone being without true cares or feelings. Black strands of hair draped over his face even though it was tied, trailing slightly beyond his neck and upper back. He had come by earlier to arrange his room, but there was no need. All that was there were his clothing, and study files with a few random objects of home. It was all he lived by and there was no need to change now. His life was empty, so personality was not one of temporary oppression.

He walked in with his robe trailing behind him and his hair draping over his face. The only reason he came and was not doing katas or meditating was because he was told he couldn’t do it forever. He begged to differ, but he was not one to argue with those of higher respect or authority.

When he walked in the room was simple, the bed was looked to be carefully made and rather large. It was all dry and dark, nothing special laid on the single desk there and nothing special on the small stands next to the bed. His clothes were still in a small bag next to the wall near a closet, it was mostly the same of what he wore currently. Black leather vest that turned to a small drab of clothe right at the knees. A sash with two holstered lightsabers trailed over a black shirt under his vest and white pants that tucked into black boots.

He took off his black gloves carefully as he walked in and the door closed behind him. Shortly there after hanging his gloves and lightsabers above his desk on a hook. What little light there came from the small slit under the door that led out into the hall. The only lamp was on the desk that he turned on for reading, even then it was only a little illumination that could barely cover the area effect of the desk. Ultimately the room itself was boring. Most decorated it with what might be needed to stay comfortable. Gabriel was never comfortable much anymore, not with anything or anyone.

His brown robe fell to the ground near the bed as he simply sat in the chair at his desk. He faced the door with one arm on the rest of the chair and another that took a small medallion from the surface of his shiny metallic desk. It was the only thing in the room that had a feeling of beauty that was not empty or beyond normal comprehension. Gabriel admired many things, the most being combat. But he could never tell anyone, he mostly believed in keeping things to himself, even when asked.

His thumb slowly went over the small gold medallion as the worn etchings were sparkled, regardless of no light being there. His red eyes reflecting back to him in the small memento. “So simple a thing can bring so much joy it seems…no worries, it relaxes by sight, and it doesn’t even breathe.”

He just stared at it more while slightly moving in his chair. “It doesn’t know how lucky it is…”
