Getting back in the swing of things (darth krieg)

[Live Wire]

LW lazilly swung her lightsaber around, its familiar weight was comforting in the palm of her hand. It had been awhile since she had trained an apprentice and while she would have liked to blame that on her diplomatic duties she knew that it was more for personal reasons she had stayed away. But now they needed her to take her place training apprentices along with the rest of the masters. It was her duty and one she took seriously.

The training room had been set up just the way she liked it and she smiled evilly thinking of all the things she had done to her apprentices in the past. Being LW's apprentice had been spoken of as an exercise in survivial and it was true if an apprentice could survive her then they were ready for the rest of the universe. She didn't believe in sending them out without proper preparation and she did prepare the hell out of them.

Scaling the wall she sat up high on a ledge near the ceiling and waited for her new apprentice to arrive.

Krieg walked into the room where his Master Live Wire was said to be. He was excited and nervous at the same time not wanting to disappointe his new Master. The room was decently sized much larger than his personall room but the training equipment around the room seemed to shrink the size.

Looking up Krieg noticed a figure sitting on the ledge and knelt in respect.

"Master, I am here to be trained" Krieg said bowing his head.

Looking down on her apprentice her face was cold. A training room lightsaber floated over to her apprentice and she waited for him to take it. She didn't bother to climb down instead she jumped and landed in a crouched position a few feet from him.

"The lightsaber has to become like a part of your body. Think of it as an extension of your arm. Using it must become second nature."

That said she took a couple of steps back and ignited her own saber. "Attack me"

Krieg ignited the lightsaber, I red light erupted from the top and Krieg swung it about to get a feel for it. Suddenly he stopped and lunged at his Master. He knew he was no match for her however if he kept up a relentless assault he might be able to to gain an advantage.

Krieg swung at her body and without blinking changed direction to the legs. Live Wire barely adjusted the position of her lightsaber for the block and stopped the attack cold. Krieg regained his composure and leaped in the air coming straight down with his lightsaber aimed at his masters head.

His attack had sheer power and will behind it but lacked finesse. Using the force she blocked his attacks easilly. However when he changed directions he unknowingly tapped into his force potential and surprised her. She smiled at him, yes this apprentice had much potential.

As he jumped into the air she quickly dodged and rolled out of his way and brought the yellow blade of her saber up. She used her strength to repel the force of his move. Their saber's clashed and using pure strength she forced him down to his knees. Her saber was just inches from his face. Strength alone would not service him this time.

He sat realizing he had made a mistake and hoped she was forgiving in that. He sat their watching the blade. Its yellow hue was intimidating. Krieg slowly stood hoping not to alarm his master, she was obviously a great swordmaster. He slowly brought his saber up and swung it, hoping to knock her light saber away. He was looking straight at her eyes through this hoping it would distract her. As this saber met hers he went to elbow her in the stomach. Unfortuanelty she was prepared for this and blocked the attack. Krieg backed up and stood ready on the defensive.

She allowed him to get to his feet. Returning his gaze with one of her own she blocked his saber and his elbow. He was relying on physical prowess and not utilizing the force so LW moved in at him. Her saber came at him as a yellow blur and he struggled to match her lightning quick moves.

Their sabers locked and LW ducked and swung her leg around knocking his out from under him. He landed on the padded floor and found the yellow saber at his throat.

She extended him a hand and helped him to his feet. "What are you doing wrong?"

"I am not keeping my attacking pace going, and also not using the force." Krieg said hoping to impress his master. He deactivated his lightsaber but kept it at his side.

He was enjoying this test of skill even though he knew he would have been dead if this was a true fight.

[Live Wire]

"Ah ha! You're not using the force. Physical prowess will only get you so far. You can train the body but it has limits and the only way to surpass those limits is by using the force. The force is your source of unlimited power, use it. Tap into your emotions, your anger, your fear. That is what will make you powerful. Use the force to anticipate your opponents movements."


With a wave of her hand the training room went dark. And three hissing noises were heared. She had released three remotes into the room and was controling them with the force.

"Now the only think you have to rely on is the force. The energy bolts will not hurt you but they will sting if they come in contact with you."

Switching on two of the remotes she stood back against the wall and watched. Two shots in quick sucession came from each of the activated remotes.

Krieg ducked and was greeted by a stining sensation. Live Wire must have anticipated the move with the force. Krieg stood again and relaxed, another sting shot through his body. Krieg was getting angry and frusterated. He walked slowly toward the sound of a hiss and ducked. He felt the air around him sizzle but was not stung. He lunged at the area the bolt had some from and felt the air move in the other direction away from him.

This is going to be harder than I though, Krieg said to himnself. He lunged at the air again, and this time his hand touched a small metallic object but it slipped out of his reach. He stood again, and was shocked twice more. He reached out with his hand slowly and with his other swung in the same direction. Something metallic ran into his hand and Krieg grasped it.

LW watched her apprentice puzzled. Leaving the room dark she switched off the remotes letting them hang in the air. "Is this method particularly efficient?" She let him ponder that question for a moment and then switched the remotes back on.

Krieg thought for a moment, stopping the remotes from moving and held them seemed to make them shoot more, and they always hit. He threw the remote in the air and drew his light saber. He heard a hissing noise behind him and stuck out at it. His training saber blocked the bolt with ease and another hiss was heard in front of him. He moved his saber gracefully and blocked the second bolt. The bolts began to some faster and faster as they went on.

Krieg began to lose his concentration trying to keep track of all the bolts coming at him. Another hiss was heard but Krieg was unprepared, the bolt hit him in the lower back and he was stung. He began to become furious again and struck out again with his light saber blocking the bolts.

[Live Wire]

"Use your anger as an ally not as a hinderance. Feel the force guide your movements. Trust your feelings and follow them."

The apprentice need to learn to keep his concentration. He was too easilly distracted. LW guided the remotes around him turning on the third one. She started the blaster bolts up slowly again and as he got warmed up she let them come a little faster.

Kreig's anger began to show through his movements. He lashed out at each bolt and was prepared for the next one. Krieg kept his momentum up and prepared for his final assault on the remotes themselves. The bolts again began to come faster and faster as he struggled to keep up with them. His light saber cut through the air toward the closest remote. A crackling noise and sparks could be seen followed by a metallic object hitting the ground. He turned around and blocked more bolts as quickly as he could. He could not see Live Wire and could not tell if she was angry or happy with his desicion to destroy the remote.

[Live Wire]

LW stood calmly controling the two remaining remotes. She continued to speed up the frequency at which the shots were coming. He was begining to use the force to control his movements but he was still struggling with it.

She smiled as she watched him struggle with the two remaining remotes. She kepts upping the speed forcing him to push himself.

Krieg hear the second remote moving to his left. THe hissing again began to pick up and Krieg had trouble keeping track of the location of his next target. Krieg was glad he hadn't been stung in a while but was forced to push that emotion out of his body for the time being. He felt the location of the second remote and attacked it with his light saber. The remote crackled, sparked and then fell to the floor with a magnetic clang. Two down one to go Krieg thought to himself, the bolts were not coming nearly as fast, then again there was only ine remote left to worry about.

Krieg closed his eyes and concentrated. He leaped into the air and swung his light saber at the tuny metalic object. The metal casing seemed to melt against the heat of the light saber.

"What is next master?" Krieg pondered, sweating.

[Live Wire]

The lights in the training room came back up revealing the shattered remains of the three remotes. She looked down at them keeping her face emotionless.

"Better"

In time he would come to learn how to use the force as his ally. "Pack a small bag you're coming with me to coruscant"

Krieg smiled, at least his master thought he was improving and now he was going on a trip. "Yes, master." Krieg replied and bowed then walked out of the room. He headed toward his personal room and gathered a few items, includeing a cloak and personal items. He headed back to the training room to his master.

"Master, I am ready."
