Spiderman made about $9million, while EP2 started with $13million. What do they expect, when the weekend has England-Denmark and Ireland-Spain? Dummys :)

They reckon 88% of the country watched that Denmark game :)

Well Spiderman is doing what I thought it would do overseas, not very well, of course the world cup isn't helping it any, it seems like they should have waited to release it overseas until after the world cup. Also it looks Lucas made a brilliant move to release it way before.

And just think, after the World Cup the other half of the world adds to the worldwide revenue :)

Yeah AOTC hasn't opened in the Asian Rim (Japan, South Korea, China, and Taiwan) or Latin America. Spiderman has opened everwhere, except maybe France, I am not sure if it has opened there yet, but I don't see it doing well in France. Also Spiderman has done way less buisness in Europe and Australia than AOTC has as Marcus pointed out it dropped 52% this past weekend there while AOTC droped a lot less, I think. I think this means that Spiderman will probably make 300-400 overseas compared to AOTC grossing 450-550 overseas.

Reaper, I read that Spider Man was rated so that any kids under 12, accompanied by parents or not can't see it. Is that true? If so, then that would have hurt it too. But planning the release during the world cup was stupid to say the least.

Right, the UK system for films :) :

Uc For all, especially children
U For all
PG Some Parentel Guidence may be needed. THere has been strong warnings on PGs before (Jurrasic Park, for example)
12 You must be 12+
15 15+
18 18+

Now, Spiderman was given a 12. However, some areas decided to make it a PG with the strong warning. So, some of the country can have kids go. Apparently it was not very kid-y at all

I would definately say Spiderman is not for under 12's.

Another interesting thing about the UK opening: Spidey's weekend actually included three whole days of previews. So its first six days were still less than AOTC's first four days. That's pretty sad.
Maybe it will pick up if England get knocked out of the World Cup :)

Nah, we'll be in a state of depression :)

It would be pretty cool if AOTC lost the domestic battle but still won the Worldwide war.

:D

Oh, I think AOTC is well on the way to winning the world Wide battle.

Well Buff Spiderman isn't doing great it is doing okay overseas, it has made 211 or something like that but it has been overseas since early May so its has a two week head start plus it has debuted everwhere while AOTC still has two markets left to debut (Asia Rim countries, and Latin America) Also Spiderman has made way less in Europe the largest overseas Market, in the UK it made only 2/3 of what AOTC, in Germany it made even less than that. France it did similar to that in the UK and in its second weekends its been dropping 50% everywhere in Europe (it dropped 60% in Italy) and Australia, New Zealand while AOTC had a much lower drop in its second weekend. Right now AOTC is at 197 and I think it will make 450 at least but could do north of 500 easily, it will easily beat Spiderman overseas will that be a difference in the WW numbers? I hope it is.
