(This is DV)
If you have not read the More military RPs? (http://www.swforums.net/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=19770) thread, do so now.
Now, Viscera will likely return when the military RPing here at swfans.net has reached a point where rping as the galactic empire is feasible. At this time, it is not. People used to like uber-fleets and mass armies and napoleonic battles. It seems they don't anymore.
While DV is gone, your tasks will be to keep what parts of the empire alive that you can, but only to a limited extent. If we win too much, all of swfans.net will -DO-NOT-SWEAR--DO-NOT-SWEAR--DO-NOT-SWEAR--DO-NOT-SWEAR--DO-NOT-SWEAR- out again, and it'll be back to square one with us.
However, when DV returns, it'll have to be to an empire (divided by warlords or not) that retains the core planets necessary to prosecute a worthwhile economy and a worthwhile war industry. You are free to bicker on any issue other than holding down your designated planets and behave in a warlord-like fashion, but the Empire must be ready to resume operations when DV returns.
This forum will continue to exist, and you all will retain access so that we may continue to discuss grand strategy, even during the warlord period. The chaos that the Empire dissolves into under warlords will be orchestrated and planned here, and very much under our control.
This is paramount: If it appears as though Thyferra is desperately threatened, all forces are to fall back to Thyferra and HOLD THE PLANET. This is paramount. Thyferra is our Alamo.
DISTRIBUTION BETWEEN KEY IMPERIAL WORLDS
As of now, I am creating a division of the Empire which will maintain war capacity for all warlords by evenly distributing key resources to each key planet. The Imperial Resource Management Service is to be neutral to all warlords, belonging to none of them personally. It will be composed of a necessary amount of transports. Each world will receive the proper amounts of food, weapons, bacta, trained troops and tibanna gas from other warlord planets via the IRMS system. IRMS must not be compromised. As with Thyferra, all of you are tasked to protect it. IRMS must have complete access to all planets under each of your control, in order to make certain that the empire shall be ready for war when DV returns.
Brevet Grand Admiral Telan Desaria-
Above all, the empire (in any form, warlords or not) MUST HOLD THYFERRA. Imperial Center is disposable, as are all other planets, regardless of their personal worth. Thyferra commands the galaxy through bacta production. Telan, that will be the standing orders of whatever warlord fiefdom you choose to establish. HOLD THYFERRA. If it appears as though the taking of the planet by enemy forces is inevitable, and you've defended the planet to the last, then you will initiate Operation: Omega.
Operation: Omega calls for the complete and utter destruction of Thyferra, via a scorched earth policy. Every single bacta production plant is to be destroyed, and the entire non-human population of the planet is to be liquidated. You are to make certain that if the Empire cannot hold the capacity to produce bacta, then no one can. Basically, we can hold the galaxy hostage via our access to bacta.
It would be easy to seek corporate help in defending that planet. Stop distribution of bacta, which will raise its price, then pay the mercenaries in bacta.
As a secondary objective, you are to hold Bespin. As the key tibanna-gas producing planet, it commands our military capacity to some extent. Without tibanna gas, our military would be less effective.
I am approving your Brevet rank, as of now you are a full imperial Grand Admiral. If you'd like, you can delegate Bespin and its Defense Group to Rear Admiral Sarin Vorran. If you wish to do that, consider him under your command.
You will be in command of 2 star destroyer groups. One will be in charge of Bespin Defense, the other Thyferra Defense.
Brevet Grand Admiral Taylor Millard-
You must hold Balmorra. The world controls key Imperial weapons production for the empire. The same scorched earth policy applies to it, in the event that it is about to be taken by rebel forces.
I am approving your Brevet rank, as of now you are a full imperial Grand Admiral.
In addition to retaining the ISD Superior, you will be in command of 1 star destroyer group.
Rear Admiral Serena Laran
You must hold Carida. The world controls key Imperial training facilities, and will continue to provide us with the highest-trained personnel in the galaxy. The same scorched earth policy applies to it, in the event that it is about to be taken by rebel forces.
I am promoting you to the rank of Vice Admiral.
You will retain the ISD Kelvin, and be supplied with the supplemental ships necessary to form it into a star destroyer group.
Vice Admiral Lei Lebron
You must hold Kamaar. Transform what parts of it you can, adapt it for agricultural duty so the other key worlds can eat. The same scorched earth policy applies to it, in the event that it is about to be taken by rebel forces.
I am promoting you to the rank of Admiral.
You will be supplied with 1 Star Destroyer group.
That's it. If all those 5 planets can be held, we'll be golden, despite warlordism. Khendon and others who may be inactive and haven't received orders, if you become active, take a star destroyer group and join in the defense of one of those planets.
Now then. Apart from the things I've listed here for long-term requirements, you are free to behave in a warlord-like fashion and do whatever the hell you want. However, don't get in the way of IRMS and their supply system. We want all 5 planets to be mutually supported on a pure Imperial level above that of the warlords.
For these purposes, a Star Destroyer Group consists of the following:
1 Imperial Star Destroyer Mk. III
1 Dreadnaught Mk. II Interdictor Heavy Cruiser
1 Abolisher Cruiser, Sienar Fleet Systems 418 "Neutralizer"
1 Quasar Fire-class Cruiser-Carrier
2 Fire-class Light Frigates
2 Constrainer-class Interdiction Pickets
Any questions?
