(This is DV)
If you have not read the More military RPs? (http://www.swforums.net/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=19770) thread, do so now.

Now, Viscera will likely return when the military RPing here at swfans.net has reached a point where rping as the galactic empire is feasible. At this time, it is not. People used to like uber-fleets and mass armies and napoleonic battles. It seems they don't anymore.

While DV is gone, your tasks will be to keep what parts of the empire alive that you can, but only to a limited extent. If we win too much, all of swfans.net will -DO-NOT-SWEAR--DO-NOT-SWEAR--DO-NOT-SWEAR--DO-NOT-SWEAR--DO-NOT-SWEAR- out again, and it'll be back to square one with us.

However, when DV returns, it'll have to be to an empire (divided by warlords or not) that retains the core planets necessary to prosecute a worthwhile economy and a worthwhile war industry. You are free to bicker on any issue other than holding down your designated planets and behave in a warlord-like fashion, but the Empire must be ready to resume operations when DV returns.

This forum will continue to exist, and you all will retain access so that we may continue to discuss grand strategy, even during the warlord period. The chaos that the Empire dissolves into under warlords will be orchestrated and planned here, and very much under our control.

This is paramount: If it appears as though Thyferra is desperately threatened, all forces are to fall back to Thyferra and HOLD THE PLANET. This is paramount. Thyferra is our Alamo.

DISTRIBUTION BETWEEN KEY IMPERIAL WORLDS
As of now, I am creating a division of the Empire which will maintain war capacity for all warlords by evenly distributing key resources to each key planet. The Imperial Resource Management Service is to be neutral to all warlords, belonging to none of them personally. It will be composed of a necessary amount of transports. Each world will receive the proper amounts of food, weapons, bacta, trained troops and tibanna gas from other warlord planets via the IRMS system. IRMS must not be compromised. As with Thyferra, all of you are tasked to protect it. IRMS must have complete access to all planets under each of your control, in order to make certain that the empire shall be ready for war when DV returns.

Brevet Grand Admiral Telan Desaria-
Above all, the empire (in any form, warlords or not) MUST HOLD THYFERRA. Imperial Center is disposable, as are all other planets, regardless of their personal worth. Thyferra commands the galaxy through bacta production. Telan, that will be the standing orders of whatever warlord fiefdom you choose to establish. HOLD THYFERRA. If it appears as though the taking of the planet by enemy forces is inevitable, and you've defended the planet to the last, then you will initiate Operation: Omega.

Operation: Omega calls for the complete and utter destruction of Thyferra, via a scorched earth policy. Every single bacta production plant is to be destroyed, and the entire non-human population of the planet is to be liquidated. You are to make certain that if the Empire cannot hold the capacity to produce bacta, then no one can. Basically, we can hold the galaxy hostage via our access to bacta.

It would be easy to seek corporate help in defending that planet. Stop distribution of bacta, which will raise its price, then pay the mercenaries in bacta.

As a secondary objective, you are to hold Bespin. As the key tibanna-gas producing planet, it commands our military capacity to some extent. Without tibanna gas, our military would be less effective.

I am approving your Brevet rank, as of now you are a full imperial Grand Admiral. If you'd like, you can delegate Bespin and its Defense Group to Rear Admiral Sarin Vorran. If you wish to do that, consider him under your command.

You will be in command of 2 star destroyer groups. One will be in charge of Bespin Defense, the other Thyferra Defense.

Brevet Grand Admiral Taylor Millard-
You must hold Balmorra. The world controls key Imperial weapons production for the empire. The same scorched earth policy applies to it, in the event that it is about to be taken by rebel forces.

I am approving your Brevet rank, as of now you are a full imperial Grand Admiral.

In addition to retaining the ISD Superior, you will be in command of 1 star destroyer group.

Rear Admiral Serena Laran
You must hold Carida. The world controls key Imperial training facilities, and will continue to provide us with the highest-trained personnel in the galaxy. The same scorched earth policy applies to it, in the event that it is about to be taken by rebel forces.

I am promoting you to the rank of Vice Admiral.

You will retain the ISD Kelvin, and be supplied with the supplemental ships necessary to form it into a star destroyer group.

Vice Admiral Lei Lebron
You must hold Kamaar. Transform what parts of it you can, adapt it for agricultural duty so the other key worlds can eat. The same scorched earth policy applies to it, in the event that it is about to be taken by rebel forces.

I am promoting you to the rank of Admiral.

You will be supplied with 1 Star Destroyer group.

That's it. If all those 5 planets can be held, we'll be golden, despite warlordism. Khendon and others who may be inactive and haven't received orders, if you become active, take a star destroyer group and join in the defense of one of those planets.

Now then. Apart from the things I've listed here for long-term requirements, you are free to behave in a warlord-like fashion and do whatever the hell you want. However, don't get in the way of IRMS and their supply system. We want all 5 planets to be mutually supported on a pure Imperial level above that of the warlords.

For these purposes, a Star Destroyer Group consists of the following:

1 Imperial Star Destroyer Mk. III
1 Dreadnaught Mk. II Interdictor Heavy Cruiser
1 Abolisher Cruiser, Sienar Fleet Systems 418 "Neutralizer"
1 Quasar Fire-class Cruiser-Carrier
2 Fire-class Light Frigates
2 Constrainer-class Interdiction Pickets

Any questions?

Balmorra Sector will be kept under control. But one thing I was wonder was this. Millard's still got his ships from when he was in the Unknown REgions (6 ISDs Mark II) Mind if I keep them also?

Arlenia Tavira
Jun 17th, 2002, 03:39:03 AM
I'm sure that 6 ISD2s would be very unkosher, if we kept them.

Taylor Millard
Jun 17th, 2002, 07:23:44 AM
Wiataminute...what's the difference b/w a Mark I and a Mark II? These were pre-Endor ISDs...what might they be?

Superior's a Mark II though.

Arlenia Tavira
Jun 17th, 2002, 10:00:34 AM
pre-endor, likely mark II. pre-yavin, likely mark I.

Taylor Millard
Jun 17th, 2002, 10:03:04 AM
THen they're Mark II. So it would NOT be okay? I'm just running this by to make sure I don't frell up somehow.

Arlenia Tavira
Jun 17th, 2002, 10:25:26 AM
yep

Taylor Millard
Jun 17th, 2002, 10:36:56 AM
How so? How'd you come up with the groups would only have the listings up there? You work with the mods on this?

*is only curious. Not like I'm gonna land grab anyone's planet from out from under them.

Arlenia Tavira
Jun 17th, 2002, 02:35:03 PM
I don't know. The mods haven't ruled on any of it. The only rule in effect is common sense, I'm just trying to jump to a preliminary conclusion in order to keep you guys informed.

[16:37:51 EST 06/17/2002 Monday] Darth Viscera: so everyone with the same number of planets has equal military might?
[16:38:12 EST 06/17/2002 Monday] VaderLoungie: its all relative
[16:38:23 EST 06/17/2002 Monday] VaderLoungie: same as a normal fight has always been

Khendon Sevon reporting for duty, school is over thursday, consider me 100% active, I request orders :) please

I would like to request the command of ships that use technology I have researched.

Arlenia Tavira
Jun 18th, 2002, 08:17:14 AM
Go right ahead, just bear in mind the common sense rule

Serena Laran
Jun 18th, 2002, 07:20:38 PM
Hmmm. Caridia? Why can't I protect a resort planet with lots of sunny beaches? ;)

*lock and loads*

Wolfgang Schreiger
Jul 4th, 2002, 09:21:59 PM
(Curses) Sorry I'm late. I've had some heinous stuff to do.

What are my orders :) :) :)

Darth Viscera
Jul 5th, 2002, 01:39:00 AM
What planet do you like? I mean, really like. Your task will be to hold it down. Apart from that, raise whatever ruckus you like.

Wolfgang Schreiger
Jul 5th, 2002, 02:14:45 PM
CARIDA! >D

(steals it from Serena)

Darth Viscera
Jul 5th, 2002, 08:19:20 PM
bad grand moff :spank

Pick another one

Wolfgang Schreiger
Jul 8th, 2002, 12:41:23 AM
dammit. I wanted that one :cry

uh....Hoth, Naboo, and Maw :)

Darth Viscera
Jul 8th, 2002, 01:38:18 AM
3 planets is kosher?

Wolfgang Schreiger
Jul 8th, 2002, 11:23:18 AM
I'm considering Maw and Naboo to be expendable

Darth Viscera
Jul 8th, 2002, 11:11:31 PM
alrighty, consider them yours

Admiral Lebron
Jul 10th, 2002, 11:47:09 AM
If we have like 5+ members are we allowed a second planet?

Darth Viscera
Jul 11th, 2002, 09:47:22 AM
Schreiger, you answer that.

Wolfgang Schreiger
Jul 11th, 2002, 11:32:38 AM
I don't really wanna put any hard quantitative rules on this. Think relatively on this. I'd say anywhere between 1 and 5 planets would be more than reasonable.

Telan Desaria
Jul 11th, 2002, 04:10:09 PM
As you know, I've been gone for a bit, so ignore this a sthe rantings of a man Centuarian Baron.

What the Frell happened to our massive warfleets? The five divisions under the Thyferra SF Banner. MY beautiful Decisive? The ships that I had built. Can I add those to my armada-Destroyer squadron, really.

I'm not complaining, because it gives us the chance to run things effectively and from scratch. But, do we still own half of the galaxy?

Please read the "More Military RPs?" thread in the OOC forum. We won't be retaining any SSDs, and we'll just be locking down a few planets and a handful of ships. The rest go to kill the vong.

Admiral Lebron
Jul 12th, 2002, 02:11:45 PM
Can I have shrouds?

Wolfgang Schreiger
Jul 14th, 2002, 01:13:08 AM
(drapes a cloth over Lebron)

There you go, lassie.

Daren Trevelan
Jul 14th, 2002, 07:54:12 AM
Out of sheer curiousity, I maintain the Guild Star Destroyer Odysseus right? lol

Darth Viscera
Jul 14th, 2002, 08:04:28 AM
Schreiger, you'll have to answer that

Admiral Lebron
Jul 14th, 2002, 04:30:50 PM
Its a ship Mr. Moff Sir. At TNO. They kick ass really.

Can I keep the cloth btw???

Khendon Sevon
Jul 14th, 2002, 08:44:54 PM
and I designed the Shroud :p

anywayz... what's going to happen to my baby? The Erebus.

Admiral Lebron
Jul 14th, 2002, 10:37:10 PM
Down the crapper!

Darth Viscera
Jul 15th, 2002, 10:42:36 AM
Admiral Sokolov, pick a planet.

Khendon Sevon
Jul 15th, 2002, 11:09:19 AM
the Erebus has to at least go out in a blaze of glory, I spent 180 RL days getting that thing :)

or

It could go into moth balls in some super secret military installation until you come back? (I like this idea better)

Darth Viscera
Jul 15th, 2002, 01:16:13 PM
I'll leave that up to you.

Admiral Lebron
Jul 15th, 2002, 03:09:27 PM
Do I get to keep some Levi II's? Maybe a Levi I?

Darth Viscera
Jul 15th, 2002, 04:59:48 PM
schreiger you answer that.

Khendon Sevon
Jul 15th, 2002, 08:38:53 PM
Khendon's gonna' hide the Erebus in an asteroid field w/ precision gattling mines around it.

I'll RP it after the fall of the Empire.

Darth Viscera
Jul 16th, 2002, 08:38:31 AM
kay

Telan Desaria
Jul 16th, 2002, 08:59:08 AM
Fall of the Empire????

Email me please!!!

Oh, and can I help destroy the vong?

Darth Viscera
Jul 16th, 2002, 12:11:58 PM
no, you can't. just read the thread I indicated.

Admiral Sokolov
Jul 23rd, 2002, 12:09:38 PM
If these are not yet taken by someone or are not locked-down, whichever you feel fit I should have, Guvn'uh:

Wayland
Yaga Minor
Duro
Borleias

Ah, that is, which one do you suggest? :D

Darth Viscera
Jul 24th, 2002, 04:57:16 AM
We still need charley to tell us how many planets is kosher for a guy to have.

Daren Trevelan
Jul 24th, 2002, 05:48:31 AM
Hmm i am currently trying to takeover Borleias for someone...

Admiral Sokolov
Jul 24th, 2002, 12:53:49 PM
'sall good, Trevelan.

Vis, I spoke to Charley. Even though he hated being asked it, he answered 2-5 planets.. plus he said he didn't care and it was grating his last nerve. It might be inconclusive, but I didn't want to press him.

Wolfgang Schreiger
Jul 24th, 2002, 01:06:11 PM
Its not something to be quantified in black and white terms...use common sense! Think if you're a warlord in breakaway russia...you can't command massive territories...you just don't have the resources for it. I say 2-5, because in my mind, that seems rational. Could you do more or less? Sure...but you gotta avoid this "bigger is better" mindset that is only going to get us back to stagnation.

Admiral Sokolov
Jul 24th, 2002, 01:31:56 PM
Alright, we'll get off your backs, Charley :)

Lebron tells me that he moved out of the Bastion Sector to Kamaar...

Residia, Gavigan, Bastion, Sorini, and Yaga Minor he left behind.. and Ganath III but I think he slagged it in his anti-Gue rampage.

I request command of Bastion and Yaga Minor, Lord Viscera. And some kind of rank beforehand like the others, if possible.

Darth Viscera
Jul 24th, 2002, 09:26:36 PM
Vice Admiral, then. 2 planets is good. Bastion and Yaga Minor.

Admiral Sokolov
Jul 25th, 2002, 11:44:17 AM
Jawohl! *Salutes :D

Oh, another question. Will our planets have the standard Imperial defences:

Ubiqtorate base-1
Planetary ALF Shields-120
Sevon Rifle, Co. GSA-CC (Big Berthas)-360
Gat. Mines-9000
Cluster Mines-9000
Cling-on Mines-4500
Targeting Mines-900
Grav. Mines-900
Military Droids-123,300
Shadow Droids-2,220
Manned Type 1 Defensive Forts-104,300
Gencore Level IV Shield Generators-144
KDY-150 Planetary Axial Ion Cannon-76
KDY-250 Dual Planetary Axial Ion Cannons-1,230
Lnr II Turbolaser Batteries-3,585
Orbital Skyhooks-8
Tachyon Detection Grids-20
Battle Platforms 300m –16
Battle Stations 400m -48
Crystal Gravitational Traps-4
Cloaking mines-45,000
Golan III-80
TIE Devil Squadrons-2,000
Imperial Submarines-20

Darth Viscera
Jul 26th, 2002, 12:36:56 AM
You've got that wrong. Some of those are just the defenses at Coruscant, I believe, others are the entire imperial defense roster.

Admiral Sokolov
Jul 26th, 2002, 08:04:57 AM
Yeah, i thought those numbers were kind of extreme. So, planets will have a kosher amount of those?

Darth Viscera
Jul 26th, 2002, 08:18:38 AM
yep

Sean Piett
Jul 29th, 2002, 01:55:02 PM
Should prolly maintain a CGT on each planet, though. Just one, and we could zip it around on a speeder or a barge

Sean Piett
Jul 29th, 2002, 01:55:42 PM
By the way, LOVE the CT.

Darth Viscera
Jul 29th, 2002, 03:29:33 PM
What's a CGT again?

Admiral Lebron
Jul 29th, 2002, 06:18:11 PM
Crystal Gravitational Traps

For standard cloaking ships.

Darth Viscera
Jul 30th, 2002, 02:22:20 AM
ah, now i remember.

Admiral Lebron
Jul 30th, 2002, 09:40:43 AM
Of course...as I just told you.
