Has anyone else tried it? I'm running on it right now. Seems to be about 6% faster, no real changes that would be apparent to the average Joe (they give you the option to choose a non-MS configuration for email apps and internet browsers). One thing that really peeves me off is that I had to use up 626 megs of precious hard disk space just to be given the option to uninstall SP1 at a later date.

Anyhow, if anyone wants it, I'll send you a 1.83 meg zip file, and you'll be running it in 30 minutes. It's not kosherly out yet, you know. August 14th.

I tend to just keep up to date with Windows Update. No real need for a Service Pack with that , especially with the aggressive settings I use.

For some reason, my FTP server is now active (I'm running XP SP1), used to be that port 21 was always clogged when I'd try to run Serv-U on XP.

Anyhow, you can download the 1.83 meg install pack (SP1 isn't merely 1.83 megs, there's an installer in there that'll download about 48 megs of stuff from the MS server) from my FTP server, which is roughly 15KB upstream. Here's the URL:

ftp://SP1:@68.49.85.183:21/SP1.zip

Don't give out that link to anyone, or I'll have to change the login name. Honor system for you fellow private individuals.

I am running on 98, and you are talking about XP...

This sucks.

*smacks Zasz then sits on him*

This pc is still on 95, so you have nothing to whine about! However, my new Dell Dimension 4500 with a Pentiium4 and Windows XP is currently on its way to its new and loving home! :D

(Ack! Forgot to click the sig box thingy! Sorry!)
