Even with a steady 30% decline this week, it looks like Spidey will hit $400M, but fall short of TPM. How happy does this make us?

Pretty happy. :) Though I was hoping for a larger decline than that honestly. It should be losing theatres more and more soon though.

Rather relieved.

I don't think we're going to be seeing declines much stronger than the mid 30% range. Is that going to be enough to get AOTC to $300M?

Let's keep our fingers crossed!

I just ran some quick numbers and I think we're looking at between $300M - $310M. We'll squeak past $300M, but if looks doubtfull that we'll can catch FOTR or HP. Thank Yoda I'm older and wiser. A loss to HP would have made me want to fight HP fans if I were a little kid in elementary school. :p

Well HP is not totally out of range still, though. It's very possible. $330 million, not possible, but $318 million or so? Surely possible, though not probable perhaps.
Remember how far a movie can "crawl" after it is basically gone from theaters, hehe. A solid $500,000 a weekend and $800,000 a week for a while can bring a movie a long ways when we're "penny pinching," haha.
I think TPM is safe, yes, and I didn't think that just two weeks ago. So... that really does make me relieved actually. It'd be another blow if TPM lost to Spider-Man.
AOTC clearing $300 million is really nice though, that is a great benchmark. Ok, yes it hasn't sold as many tickets as we all thought and hoped, but $300 million is some pretty darn good money here people. Plus if it makes it to $313 million it will hit the top ten, and that's very much a possibility still. Anything in the $300 to $320 million range is still possible.
