De'Ville lay on her back on a pile of warm furs, staring at the ceiling. Her eyes were vacant, her consciousness was deep within, scurrying around her own body. The apprentice of Jeseths'...the Turbogeek look alike, or clone, he had told her of a way to purge the poisons out of herself.

The nanites that Sanis Prent had left inside her were innumerable. They were also undetectable, and impossibly minute in size. Her body exhaled slowly and breathed in steadily, but Lilaena was far away.

She was inside herself, taking note of the tiny areas all around her vital organs (including one non vital one, her womb) that her white blood cells had marked as unknown entities. The tiny "flags" were in her bloodstream and in the pericardium around her heart. There were a few in her brain as well, mostly clustered around the brain stem and in the hippocampus. It was tiring to make note of them all. There wasn't an imaging scan that would pick them up...but her immune system was working well.

Her uterus was her largest worry. Thankfully the blood between mother and child was never mingled, the placenta doing its job of transferring the nutrients over from De'Ville to her unborn child by way of the umbillical cord. There was no trace of poison or "flags" in her unborn son.

De'Ville bristled with anger at Sanis and his employer. Before she could face off with either, she had to rid herself of every single nanite.

It could take days. It might take weeks, even months. If even one nanite was left, her life was still not her own. She closed her eyes and tracked down one of the flagged anomalies. Manipulating the Force carefully around the miniscule area, she pulled it away from its position, dragging it through her bloodstream and through the cells to the tip of her index finger, She nearly lost it a few times, but quickly grasped ahold of the space that held nothing she could sense, but was certainly something her body rejected.

Lilaena sighed, opening her eyes and bringing her hand into her line of vision. Nothing. Of course, it would be too tiny to see with the naked eye. It would take hundreds to accumulate enough to produce a drop of something that could be seen. She let her hand fall down to the furs again, her other hand cradling her enlarged belly.

She could clearly feel the baby's backbone and head against her hand. He hadn't turned head down yet...but he would soon. Her son pushed against her hand, and floated to the other side of her, kicking under her palm. Lilaena smiled. A fighter.

De'Ville was a fighter as well. But these nanites...were something she couldn't fight inconventional ways. And telling people about them gave possible enemies a way to menace her. She would remove them herself. Or die trying.
