Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones grossed $6.4M on Thursday, its eighth day of release, bringing its overall domestic tally to $141,305,767 going into the lucrative Memorial Day holiday weekend, according to figures released by Twentieth Century Fox. The Thursday take was off a scant 1.5% from Wednesday which is understandable given that its predecessor, 1999's The Phantom Menace, witnessed a microscopic 0.4% Wednesday-to-Thursday decline on the same days. Episode I had a somewhat stronger $7.7M gross on the Thursday before the holiday weekend (its ninth day of release) while Spider-Man collected $7.5M on its first Thursday (its seventh day of play).
At least the bleeding has stopped. :p
