Only a -1.5% drop from the previous day. I haven't looked at how that stacks up against Sspidey and TPM yet.

Because you wanted to be the first one to post the numbers, right? :p

Anyway, TPM dropped 2.86% on the same time frame, so not much difference. Its Wed and Thu gross were also almost the same.

Hmmm... Boxoffice Guru says 0.4% for TPM. For some reason The-numbers and BOG always have different numbers for TPM.

I see nuuuuuuuuuuuthing!!! :p

On a day to day basis AOTC is now over $30M behind Spidey, its widest margin to date. This is due to the different release days, but AOTC should still have not fallen behind the opening week numbers of Spidey where it trailed by $28.4M and 29.0M.

Yah but first weeks are weird. Some movies drop every day some stabilize and make about the same amount every day.

We'll see what happens this weekend.

Yeah, we will. And then we'll say: "We'll see what happens Monday", and then we'll say: "We'll see what happens this week", and then we'll say: "We'll see what happens Friday", etc., etc., if you catch my drift... :)

Well, you definitely overestimated AOTC's first weekdays, because your predictions add up to $47M for Mon-Thu where in fact AOTC grossed $31M. Just thought I'd point that out. :)

You would. :p

Well we'll really know what's going on when we see a normal weekend to weekend pattern.

This weekend will only tell us something if it the two extremes if it makes under 70 million for the 4 days that is a bad sign or it makes more than 75 somewhere between 77-85 that would be a great sign, of course it will probably do 70-75 which will tell us absolutely nothing.

LOL...I'm predicting a touch over 75M, so I guess we'll know nothing if I'm right. ;)

Well, Dutchy, I cannot see the future like the Jedi can, hehe.

TPM made $35 million in its weekdays, and I was thinking that having AOTC open on a Thursday and not a Wednesday would push more business into the next week, so then I just used the ticket price inflation and figured $45 million or so, or $47M according to that. Yeah I thought it was possible, seemed like a realistic prediction, but given the Sunday number I would have changed those anyway. I was thinking $14M Monday would be 50% of Sunday, but Sunday wasn't $28M so I'd have had to rethink the entire thing.

I would have said, then:

$12 million Monday
$10 million Tuesday
$9 million Wednesday
$8.5 million Thursday

I would have still been wrong, of course, but that would have been my revised estimates. I was hoping for days all above $8M...

Don't feel bad Jon, the Jedi can't see into the future anymore either. The damn Dark Side has clouded everything. It's soooooo inconvienient, isn't it?:rolleyes

That is true :)

Palpatine must be immensely strong to be able to conceal himself in the most powerful position in the Republic without Yoda and the other Jedi noticing. They are literally around him constantly and they don't feel the Dark Side. That is definitely eerie, although I think in a real-life parallel, people often don't notice the evil in their own lives until it is too late. That is pretty genius storytelling, IMO, because evil is not always the most apparent. Sometimes it's where you would least expect it (well, who would expect that a priest would be sexually harrassing children either?).

Well, right now I'm hoping for $15-16 million for Friday. Anything less would be a disappointment. :mad
