When a staff member closes a thread, please do not re-open it without speaking to the person who closed it first. Thanks.

Who reopened it? I saw it closed and didn't even want to mess with it, I figured you closed it for a good reason.

I closed it with my second post there. There are posts after that, which means someone re-opened it.

I honestly have no idea who, and I guess that person can go nameless unless they want to step up and take some blame for it, which they don't have to it up to that individual.

Well, it's no big deal - no one needs to take any blame for it. But I closed it for a reason. We don't need people bragging about having pirated copies of AOTC... especially if there are people from Lucasfilms lurking around here (as they have done in the past).

Mod log says Fett opened and re-closed it.

I split the last three posts and stuck them in the BO forum, seeing as how they had very little to do with piracy. That way, they can continue the convo, if they still want to.

That sounds like a good idea, they had nothing to do with the piracy issue, could you have just deleted the thread?

I don't like deleting threads unless absolutely necessary. I could have moved it to this forum... but it's already dropped to the second page, so I don't think there's any need to.

Okay, I was just curious, if somebody did start posting links do you suggest just deleting that post.

If they posted links to a pirated copy, please edit out the links and leave a stern warning, letting them know that that sort of thing can be grounds for banning.

ok that sounds like a good plan, hopefully nobody will post any links.

All I said was:
Mod log says Fett opened and re-closed it.And so you can see for yourself what I based that statement on:
<img src=http://thesithempire.clanpages.com/modlog.gif>
It is what the log shows, but it is possible that another mod replied to the thread without noticing it was locked which it would have allowed them to do, without re-opening the topic (seeing as the board wide mods are super-mods). No one is making a big deal about it, and I didn’t make my statement so harshly as to Say “Fett was the one”. Really, I was just stating what the mod log told me.

From looking at the portion of the thread that was split. CMJ replied to it, most likely without re-opening and probably not noticing it had been closed.
Perhaps we should consider revamping the board wide mod's status so that such things do not occur again. Now that Mod abilities have been hacked to hell and back for the group mods, board wide mods don't really have to be super-mods any longer. Regular Mods in the Moderator usergroup assigned to the correct categories should suffice.
EDIT: A downfall to that ideas is the fact that it would make board wide mods unable to edit, delete, or move posts in categories they are not assigned to. So emergency assistance to group mods would not be possible by our board staff. :\

Yep, it allows me to reply by clicking the reply link under a user's name without re-opening the thread. :)

Oh its not your fault, don't worry about it as Shawn said it wasn't a big deal. Until now I didn't even realize we could respond to closed threads.

It wouldn’t really be all that hard to not notice a thread was closed if you used the “Go to last unread post” link on the forum index and ended up partway through the thread, then clicked the reply link under a username after being a bit perturbed (or whatnot) with said message. At least that is my spin on it.
Only two tell tale signs within a thread that its closed, and they are at the top and bottom of each page. The quick reply box isn’t there and the usual “reply” graphic is replaced by a “closed” one.
