Awesome movie. Saw it at midnight, CST. Answered all trivia questions but one correctly before movie (cell number of Princess Leia on the Death Star, stupid me). Should watch Episode IV again. Should watch Episode II a LOT more.

wow...

that's all I'm really capable of saying right now...

There are things I'm still comprehending about this film... I can't really judge it yet, or rank it among the others... there's just too much to take in... it's gonna take a couple more viewings...

again... wow...

It was amazing; I saw it at the midnight showing last night, and would have posted, but I also had about an hour long drive home, so I was incredibly beat and went straight to bed and had Star Warsy dreams all night :)

The move was awesome, the atmospherics blew me away (of course all the effects stunned me), and the acting, imo, was tons better than TPM.

Simply put, I loved it!!!!

Just returned from my third viewing, and it has definitely moved up in the ranks for me. At first, while I really really liked it, I was a little unsure of it - but I think it was just that the first viewing was almost like information overload and I couldn't take it all in. The 2nd and 3rd viewings were 100 times better for me. What an incredible movie!!!

Going once more tomorrow, then I might take a little break, but I'll be going again at least a few more times at some point.

Yes, yes, to McBain you listen!

"The 2nd and 3rd viewings were 100 times better for me. What an incredible movie!!!"

For me, the 2nd viewing blew the first away. I know that may be cliche, but I hate the first viewing of a Star Wars film for some reason. I'm too nervous, so I'm not able to enjoy it as much, when I can sit back because I already know it rules, and then take it all in. The first showing is just to get it out of the way, then the second is so that I can really enjoy the greatness of the film.

AOTC rocks. Seen it twice, but 3rd time is like in 1:45 so I gotta go now!

Doc Milo
May 16th, 2002, 10:14:43 PM
Yeah, the first viewing I was just overwhelmed by everything. The atmosphere, the excitement, the nervousness . . . and the movie itself was just overload! I enjoyed my second viewing more, even though I got horrible seats (the theater was so crowded, I had to sit like three rows from the screen! My neck still hurts!

They actually had to go around checking ticket stubs before the show started because it looked like there were more people than seats. Either they screwed up and oversold the room or (more likely?) there were some people who snuck into the theater... I know I was close enough to the front not to have the entire upper section filled by the time I got in . . . and there was no way, IMO, that the theater was going to hold the people in it plus the amount of people that were in line behind us! Something screwed up there. But the show went on on time, and, even with the lousy seats, it was much better the second time around... awesome the first time . . . no word to describe the second time!

Wow, what an incredible movie. I saw it on Thursday at 6:20 PM Eastern, and was totally blown away. I've only seen it that one time so far, but this Monday I'm going to see it again and I might get to see it a third time next Friday.

Not having a car and not having much money makes it hard for me to see a movie five times in two days. ;)

No kidding. I left work secretly 2 hours early on Thursday to accommodate my viewing of AOTC.

I still have a job, so the Force must be with me.

JonathanLB
May 18th, 2002, 02:02:56 AM
Nice, haha, you ROCK Quadinaros! That's hilarious. lol, you are the man.

See, I think that takes much greater fandom than me just dragging my butt to Evergreen 12 minutes away to see it. That's very cool. :)

McBain, jeez, you are really getting up there too. You guys are seriously good competition. I am in a league of very amazing fans here, haha.

I like to think that every viewing is not necessarily equal. I mean, well like some of you are so far away from a real theater you have to drive a long ways, whereas it is easier for me, or some of you have money constraints, a real job, etc. So my viewing count is not as meaningful in some ways because right now I'm free to see it as much as I can and money and time are really not at all issues (time was for my TPM viewings at the start, though! With high school...in the way!).

Rick, i.e. HyperEopie, surely some of you must remember him, saw TPM 29 times but he had to drive 40 minutes to and 40 minutes back each time he wanted to see it. That's 80 minutes of transit. I mean, 29 times, given those conditions, is stunning. I have no doubt he'd have beaten my 50 viewings if he were closer...

Doc Milo
May 18th, 2002, 02:18:39 AM
Still only twice for me, I plan on seeing it a third time on Tuesday.

I probably won't be able to equal the 12 times I saw TPM in theaters, but not by choice. Paying for my own wedding, I have to really adhere to a tight budget...

Of course, if I win Lotto, or hit the triple I played for the Preakness tomorrow, money for the wedding won't be so much a concern! Then . . . Buff watch out! :)

I work too many hours and sometimes need to plan which day I can see a movie. However...

Viewing #3 at 12:00pm 5/18 (have tickets already) ;)

Shawn

I've seen it twice already. That number will likely rise in short time.

CMJ
May 18th, 2002, 06:47:48 AM
Only once so far....Thursday at 12:45, but viewing #2 will come soon. Of course I do have other stuff going on too. I'm not in that going for 20+ viewings group or anything. Five is probably my magic number But as a rule I rarely see films more than twice in theatre anymore(this started a few years ago)...actually 2 times is getting to be rare. I now watch MORE films and less showtimes...whereas I used to see fewer films but more viewings of each.

3 viewings in 24 hours, and it just keeps getting better and better with each viewing! :)

Rather good, i must say

JMK
May 18th, 2002, 06:20:44 PM
It does get better each time you see it. The second was much better than the first for me, and I hope it continues to get better with each subsequent viewing. I think its actually going to be alot harder to get to 20 viewings this time around. For TPM, I was on a "break" with my girlfriend, so I had all the free time in the world to see TPM. This time, we're together, and I'm coaching softball 2-3 nights a week, so I think it will be hard to top TPM. I hope I can though.

I have a spontaneous joygasm every time I see it. Three times now, and I can go again for free, because the sound was messed up in the last showing I saw.

It was too quiet..and then it was TOO LOUD! R2-D2 almost blasted my eardrums out.
