You are a sole TIE/ln Fighter on patrol from your Imperial Battle Platform. You are 300 clicks out by visual scanning, and well out of sensor range of the battle platform. All of a sudden, a Flight Group (4 ships) of T-65R3 New Republic X-Wings pops out of hyperspace, and jams your communications. Their intentions are hostile, as witnessed by the salvo of blaster bolts they fire at you while flying in a quad-diamond formation.

You continue this RP now. Your reaction will determine how well you are deemed to be trained as of now, and ultimately how quickly you will be promoted.

If you're having some trouble, read the training posts of others, which should give you some insight.

The dark void the space had been pressed upon Exceron's mind to the extent that he felt as if a lens of seclusion was welded to the brim of his skull, seperating him from the rest in both distance and in ethics. He had the impression that only he was the one to ever fair such isolation, though he had been wrong all-along; for the sensations that bore in his head at that time was merely the life of a rogue pilot, a lonely one to say the least.

As several drops of sweat seaped through his moist skin, and fell fearlessly to a death of dispersion upon the collar of his black flight uniform...Exceron had the feeling that circumstancs of fighting his notions of depression could not become worse, for his self-confidence had already dropped drastically after repeated verbal assaults upon himself, a byproduct of his confusion.

Once he had come to accept that the day was almost at an end, and that he'd soon be back at the base...a flicker of ravagedly-shot blast beams shot through his port view as 4 NR X-Wings which had exited hyperspace just minutes before came into view with laser cannons gleaming red beams/shots, the next approaching closer than the last.

With his heart pounding stronger and faster with every beat, it almost took Exceron to hit himself out of the daze he had been enveloped in to quickly divert vacant power to shields, and to engage in evasive measures.

The strong hum of the sublight thrusters roared loudly as the standard TIE fighter banked left and up to evade incoming laser fire, targeted at his previous position. It would be a long night, and Exceron knew this all too well.

Just as Exceron managed to swirve his fighter from the blast pattern being administered by the 4 NR X-Wings, a stray shot beam managed to slightly graze his starboard solar pannel.

This daunt upon his ship managed to throw Exceron in a few un-commanded barrel spins as the X-Wings continued to circle, like vultures targeting their prey. But just as Exceron and his fighter began to roll-out, he managed to throw his two thumbs atop of both laser cannon "fire" command buttons as the lead X-Wing just passed through his front view while circling.

With one of his opponenets down, Exceron came to notice the literal seal-wrap of sweat which clung to his face, and beaded to each idividual strand of his dark hair. His flight helment which was on at the time, along with the appropriate support systems hindered him, in the sense that he would virtually drown in his own boiling sweat if he didn't calm himself down.

"Come on, Exceron...a few deep breaths...."

His own words echoed and droned in his mind as he continued to unconsciously use random, though effective evasion tumbles which nearly completely demonstrated his TIE Fighter's superiority in the realm of agility.

"Stay calm...the end your trek is near."

The optistism of his words kept him alive...though it was the pessimism which kept him at the edge of his seat, with senses sharpened and acute.

As the group, now consisting of 3 standard X-Wings divided, one to each flank and one at the center; Exceron saw that there would potentially be additional trouble in their new formation...for his left and right banks would no longer cut-it. He would be able to continue to evade it all for some time...but it would not be the answer which would keep him alive.

"Dammit...this is not going well...."

The grueling opposing fighters on either side of Exceron's flank used their superior speed to advance their corresponding flank for a few seconds, just enough time for a few laser cannon shots to be fired at the violently-spinning TIE Fighter. After a few shots were fired, the X-Wings decreased speed once-again in order to leave their own flank open only as long as necissary.

To his front, the sector's sun shown nearly as brighly as the medallion which hung at his neck, the product from years of hard studies at the most prestigeous Imperial Flight Academy in the galaxy. Yet, it was not the same brightness...though now it felt like the medallion symbolized his hardship, rather than the ultimate goal it yielded to; and his eyes being painfully burned from their sockets did not make him feel any better.

The barage of the X-Wing attack did not decline, nor did it waver. The irony that all that he had worked to achieve in his life, all to possibly vanish before his eyes along with his life befuddled Exceron; it was not everyday that he had put himself at such a risk...but for what?

"Stay the course...there is a time for thinking, and a time for action."

Once again, it may have been his own rational words which had saved him; for just as he began to bank down, a fury of laser attacks passed through where his fighter last was. Once again, he observed his own demise if he were to alter his actions in any which way by even one millisecond's time...and the one solution he had decided upon was the one to save him.

The droning alarm on his fighter's main control pannel eventually pushed Exceron from the daze he found himself in once-again, and just couldn't prevent. And once again, a mere barrel-roll after his realization saved him. This was when he realized that he would not survive by purely being defensive...but offensive.

Once Exceron began to review his own thoughts, the first aspect he rembered of his 'potential saviors' was the scout schedule for the day.

"Let's see...I do supposed to reach base just about now, at 14 hundred hours...Raides, Biggs, and Sycon left to carry-up my post about a half hour ago...they should be- bingo!"

His sentence was cut short when he first realized that the 3 scouts he had previously mentioned were to roughly be at the first marker at that time, which was a very short distance from his own current position. After re-checking his shields and weaponary, Exceron made a drastic course change.

Exceron first diverted a small portion of his shielding to his sublight thrusters while attempting to maintain his previous evasive actions to keep even vague details of his intentions from the X-Wing pilots until it had already been done. Once Exceron was at the height of his revolution and the X-Wings had expended the large barage of shots they maintained every few minutes, Exceron wiped a row of sweat from his collar in anticipation just before diverting yet more power to his scanners.

After a few seconds of reluctance, the TIE Fighter banked downwards instantaneously, hence it was the X-Wing pilots' first intention to pursue. Exploiting the X-Wing's lack of agility in comparison to the TIE Fighter, Exceron was able to edit his immediate course to the right, thus he passed just under the X-Wing which was once on his right flank. All the while, the NR pilots continued to challenge his low-altitude, and were very unsuspecting to his pinpoint change. It would be mere minutes before he hopefully rendevoused with his own comrades.

Exceron's anguished sigh of relief proved to come all too soon, because once his course was completely changed to the farside of the planet's orbit in where he was at that time, his 3 X-Wing bogies pushed-it hard as they all began to form around his flanks(2 to the left, 1 to the right). The only advantageous aspect he got from that action was their inability to fire at him...yet.

The lone X-Wing to his port noticably decreased his speed to a much lighter and softer drumming-sound, and the distance between Exceron and this X-Wing grew.

"....My tail...."

Just as "tail" exited Exceron's hardened lips with a slight blast of carbon dioxide from his lungs, the X-Wing's sublight thrusters once-again warped to a strong roar of power. From this point, the X-Wing performed a series of subtle barrel-roll revolutions...just enough so it was on Exceron's tail, rather than port side.

The hail of gunfire once-again dominated the desolate space when the X-Wing first believed it had a clear shot; though once it missed, it simply began to shoot somewhat randomly at Exceron's TIE.

To attempt to cancel-out the X-Wing's action, the TIE Fighter duplicated the X-Wing's technique to a point, once it began to barrel-roll much more quickly to the port side. Though now, the tides of action with the NR X-Wing changed at is merely followed with continued laser-cannon assist, along with the remaining 2 X-Wing's cover of their comrade's left flank.

But to the X-Wings' ignorant idea of Exceron's true motives...they were awakening their own demise with their own methods.

Once resting eyes upon the 'farside' of the unspecified planet; new stars, additional planets, and moons were seen at an entirely new perspective then before. Every single one of them held a strange aura in Exceron's eyes, all with a different story to tell and experiences to bestow.

Thanks to the shot previously upon one of Exceron's solar pannels, sensor readings were also inaccurate and on the fritz, so sensor sighting of his potential back-up would be slim to none. And no doubt, the barren, black void of space would not assist Exceron in a visual either; rendering him blind and even possibly hopeless.

Suddenly, the X-Wings broke formation to a strong defense pattern behind Exceron; though didn't fire upon him. It was somewhat frightening to Exceron that he could not witness what had the X-Wings cower to such a level.

"Ah well...they must be spook-"

The last word which rolled-off Exceron's tounge very subtly was drowned-out by a hail of green-shaded laser-fire...the customary color of the Imperials. Though focused at the X-Wings. several of the shots came close to Exceron's own fighter, hence proving to him that Stuart was truly there.

"Hahah! Stuart and his terrible markmanship is at it again!"

The hyped emotions of Exceron only grew stronger as the hail of fire completely knocked-out and destroyed all of the X-Wings' shielding, along with puncturing and destroying the hull of one entire X-Wing additionally, all in the first pass.

Seconds after the fire stopped, the three TIE Fighters in the standard formation for three shot-through the rubble of the destroyed X-Wing which was now just behind the taskforce of 2 bogies. Once the X-Wing pilots' confusion greatly mounted, Exceron took the chance to bank up and hard left, so he eventually rendevoused with his assist just before the second pass.

And now, Exceron's Comm. was up due to lack of X-Wing jamming power.

Exceron: "Good to see that you have come."

Stuart: "Hahah, we had first arrived to see your ass-kicked; but the sight was just too pathetic."

Exceron: "Once you fight 4 X-Wings by yourself with no comm., we'll compare."

Once a few casual words were exchanged, the 4 pilots quickly discussed a mutual formation in mere seconds, just as they went to hit the remaining 2 X-Wings which were now banking-up to escape.

Fortunately for the TIEs, the expansive area-hail of fire was enough to knock-out both X-Wings just as they attempted to exit the area in a burst of reds and oranges, arranged in a blossom of triumph.

As though the precedings were completely irrelevant, the 3 scouts increased speed to their sublight engines as they assisted back Exceron to the battlestation for repairs.

OOC:
That ends it, and you have my apologies if the last of the posts were too compressed in the actions.

Extremely impressive... One of the best starfighter training posts I've ever seen here.

Great job, Exercon.

Very good, Cadet Exceron. Very impressive. I am promoting you to full Lieutenant, but your training is not yet complete. We will see how you do in Capital ship training.
