They are the same poll. The sidebar just pulls from and adds its info to this thread.

Is there some option in the admin control panel to select which poll appears there?

Is there some option in the admin control panel to select which poll appears there?It just pulls the most recent poll. I do believe there are some options for forum IDs to exclude from the sidebar though. So polls posted in specified forums will never show on the sidebar.

Login issues aren't really unexpected. Cookies are kinda messy with the old board and this one being on the same domain. Once the site gets over to the main URL things should improve.
And for now, I think its best to use the www.sw-fans.net URL instead of www.swforums.net.

I'm undecided it is much like swrpg where I also hang out and there is only one major delike I have there. It may be because I'm stupid or just don't under stand it. The one thing I liked best about the old board was the fact that the buddy list was right on the side of your control panel where it is not anymore.
Also the buddy list does not have the option to pm anymore wich kind of sucks cause now I have copy there name into the header which takes longer. If there is a quicker way I just haven't figured it out yet.

I will look into the PM options for buddies. I know there is one. As for the buddy list, if enough people want it, I can put it in the leftside bar that you see on the forum index and in threadlist pages.

Trying this multi quote feature..
Oh, I really like how this new interface looks and all the new functions. It just takes some getting used. Learning through experimenting.
I love in particular:

* Post icons
* Reputation system
* Multi quote
* Usernotes
+ tons of other features that I keep discovering

If there is a quicker way I just haven't figured it out yet.I've added the buddy list module to the left column. It has a PM link to buddies in it for Registered users.
I can also add that left column to the usercp if deemed as wanted but it would be the entire left column.

One thing I do like is the fact when we get our email notifications (whether they be regarding PMs or Subscribed threads) the text of the post (or pm) is in the email.
I like that feature

And I'll be happier once I can stop typing in my user names to login :mad

You don't have to use all the new features. Its not required. Most of them can simply be ignored if you wish.
Do also keep in mind that everything is still being tweaked by the Master of the Boards, Ogre.

I know things are still being tweaked, but it is annoying having to login when you're used to using a password manager :)

Are you using Firefox, Mandy? I only had to log in once on each of my names, then after that just double-click the 'user name' field and a little list of my accounts came up, passwords stored.

I can usually do that too with firefox, Crows, but for some reason I haven't been able to since we switched. Maybe something in my preferences got toggled that I'm not aware of.

I use Mozilla, and usually it pops right up anytime I log into any site - I think it might be because we're "sharing" a domain or something? o_O Also, having my sig in my post because I forget to unclick the box = lame.

Do we still have "view new threads" "view new posts" links someplace?Near the top of the page is the 'navbar'. A colored bar with text links and menus on it. On the nevabar, close to the middle is the 'New Posts' link. :)

As long as I can have my simple Blues style set any upgrades or fancy repuation features are just fine with me.
Edit: Am I retarded or is there no way to make the sidebar go away on the forum pages? I don't think I like it. I see that you can minimize the sections.

Lilaena De'Ville
Sep 3rd, 2006, 05:08:05 PM
That's a style set thing, which eventually will probably be fixed to your liking in a new style.
The way that vB3 implements styles and our old vB2 software inplemented them is very different, however, and we are having to re-learn how to create styles. So just because we had a paticular style before we upgraded doesn't mean its simple and easy to move it over to the 'new' board. It'll take time.

YAY sidebars gone! I didn't mind one but two just made the forum too narrow. I also like the fact that I can get them back any time if I want to, without changing an option in my profile or something.

We are now back on our original URL. If you are having any account issues like logging in, delete any cookies for sw-fans.net and swforums.net and then try again.
For multiple URL/character per addy users: There are still some links on pages that will force you to go to www.sw-fans.net. Be wary of this so you don't accidentally post with the wrong character.

Not sure if anyone noticed, but I hope they did and I'm just being redundant. I'm only pointing this out because I've fallen into it several times already. With the Sith Order theme, the main banner is supposed to have hotspots I assume, but if you click on it, it just sends you to the main forums page. I checked and none of the other themes have places on the main banner for hotspots like TSO does.
TheHolo.Net
Sep 8th, 2006, 06:45:26 PM
Currently that banner is an exact copy of the one we had on the old vB2 forums. The image mapped links have been purposely removed as they are mostly redundant and/or incompatible with vB3.
It will be remade at some point in the future to be up-to-date with the new forum software.
As a note; Pretty much all of the styles we currently have are incomplete conversions from our old board. There are bound to be anomolies and unmatching items.
