The Training of Ravix Sinthade

In the murky darkness of the night, Videl waited for her new apprentice to appear. Sitting on a rock, she looked out into the night and her pets did as well with their eyes glowing eeriely in the moonlight.

From out of the dark realms of the shadows, Ravix stepped onto the outdoor arena known as the Sith's training grounds. Through the dence darkness of the night, Ravix did not spot his new master right away taking this opportunity to indulge in the cool, refreshing, night's air before proceeding on. As Ravix progressed he came across several statues of former Sith emperors. Perhaps this was a method of inspiring young Sith warriors, Ravix thought to him self. Finally, after a few minutes had passed, Ravix came to a hault do to a huge boulder standig in his way. Looking upward, Ravix spotted the shadowy outline of Videl and her beast companions gazing into the stary sky.

"Ahem..." Videl's eyes fluttered as if coming out an hypnotic trance. "I have come for my training" Ravix pronounced.

so you have, I was just lost in my memories for a second there......

Videl said quietly as she and her pets looked down at Ravix. Shiji watched with his usual aloof look as his tail twitched behind him and Kuroi looked down with his ears pricked forward and his tongue lolling over his razor sharp teeth. Videl didn't need to look at her pets to know what they were doing since that was what they always did but she did know her pets inspired maliase in most people. But looking at Ravix, she knew the new Sith wasn't too afraid if at all of them, which was good since Videl preferred people who showed no fear. Her pets were brutal in battle but were pretty tame otherwise so their look was mostly a bluff. They would do anything to protect their master but never acted without cause. Videl reached over and scratched behind one of Kuroi's ears and he looked back at her and woofed once. Turning her attention back to Ravix, Videl smiled before she spoke.

Well how would you like to begin? Since I don't know you, I have no idea how skilled you are....I sense a great power in you but it remains to be seen if you know how to tap into it.....

Ravix pondered for a moment before comming to an conclusion... "Perhaps the force would be a suitable place to start," Ravix said with a smirk.

Videl smirks slightly (sure, be as vague as possible) she thinks to herself (well let's see what he can do) Videl smirks before disappearing behind the tall rock as she flips backward. Her pets watched idlely, they were used to their master's way of doing things by now and knew when she needed their help, now was not one of those times. Videl suddenly appears in front of Ravix as she kicks him in the chest and follows him down before pushing down hard with her foot when they hit the ground. Drawing forth her katana, Videl held it lightly at his throat. Ravix seemed surprised as he gulped slightly but didn't cry out which was good since Videl would have hurt him again for it.

First lesson, never lose track of anyone, one wrong move equals death for any fighter....

Videl moves the blade away from Ravix's throat and puts it back into its scabbard before drawing something else out from behind her back. Ravix winces slightly, expecting her to draw out something even worse, but Videl drops what she was holding on him. It landed with a thump on Ravix's chest, a saber, to which Videl only smirked wryly before speaking.

Ravix clutched the cylinder like object in his hand and sprung to his feet. Curiously, he examined the contents in his hand, running his thumb along the bumby ridge of the handle untill it met with the switch. With a slight jolt the saber extruded a radiant red light which glowed brightly in night's darkness. Ravix waved it in front of him as it hummed softly before bringing close to his eyes, starring deep into its hypnotic glow.

Ravix began to sneer as he quickly slashed at Videl's head. To his surprise, the light from his saber erupted into a blaze of sparks as it collided with the ethereal glow of Videl's purple saber which she ignited. Stepping back, Ravix prepared for Videl's next move.

Videl watches Ravix try to figure out her next move. Her eyes darted over to a bit of movement above her but it was only Kuroi moving forward from his perch on the rock to get a better view. Her panther watched too but his lips were pulled back from his teeth in an angry sneer, he never liked seeing his master fight.

Good, but I know you can do better, attack me, Ravix.....

Without hesitation, Ravix lunged at Videl, slashing wildly with his saber, delivering a volley of fierce blows more violent then the last.

Videl blocks and attacks back occassionally, but it was obvious that she wasn't exactly pleased. Without warning, she brings up her knee into Ravix's stomach and knocks all of the wind out of his lungs then brings down both fists on his spine, slamming him hard into the ground.

You have more than just your saber to attack with.....you will lose if you focus on only one form of attack....now try again......

Ravix staggered to his feet as he tried to regain his breath. He knew for sure that he was no match for Videl and if she wanted to, could kill him with a gesture of her hand. He began to fell helpless, that there was nothing he could do to succeed. The emotion in him began to swell as fear and hate clouded his mind. Yet he could feel the presence of something else, something cold and dark which he welcomed and embraced into him. And as he did so the pain in his back and stomach began to fade away. His breathing was back to a steady rate and his eyes fixed on Videl.

Ravix held his saber in front of him as he readied for another attack. He lunged at Videl once again with his saber raised high above his head. As he approached her, he swung the saber down opon Videl who reacted to the obvious attack with an overhead block with her own saber. And as she did so Ravix quickly shut off his saber allowing his arms to pass freely by her upper block leaving her body now open and vulnerable. Still in full momentum from his charge, Ravix tackled Videl, slamming her with his full force into the boulder behind her. After the severe impact, Ravix pushed off, flipping backwards and sending a fierce kick into Videl's jaw.

Ravix tottered back a few steps and ignited his saber, ready for any retaliation by Videl.

Videl smirked as she wiped a bit of blood away from her mouth (Now that's more like it, just what I was trying to get you to do) Videl thought to herself as she looked her apprentice who was eyeing her warily. But she knew he would never be cautious enough any time soon to be able to block her but that would come in time after Ravix faced many opponents. Eyeing her apprentice's stance, she knew what how to attack next. While mantaining eye contact with him she attacked again with a slash towards Ravix's side. He responded accordingly with a quick block but his eyes flicked downward to the connecting sabers. Wasting no time, Videl threw her head forward and slammed her forehead into his. Caught off guard, Ravix doesn't respond quick enough and takes the brunt of the blow. He winces and Videl knees him in the stomach again before doing a backflip kick to his forehead again. As soon as her feet touched the ground, dropped down and swept Ravix's feet out from under him. Ravix falls backward and Videl waits for him to get up again.

Better but you can do much more.......I sense a strong force in you but you need to learn how to bring it out.....try again.....

With a burst of rage, Ravix sprung onto his right hand, leveling him self above the ground as he delivered a swift scissor kick knocking Videl off her feet. As her body hit the floor, she was soon greeted by yet another fierce blow to the jaw as the back of Ravix's heel swung around and made contact.

Jumping to his feet, Ravix turned and sliced through the near by statue with his saber. As it errupted into a blaze of sparks the statue began to slide of its base and topple over Videl's lying body......

But there was one thing her apprentice hadn't counted on, his master's control of the force. Videl caught the massive form of rock as it slid towards her with the force. For a normal Sith the rock would have been hard to hold but Videl was no normal Sith, her skills had been high enough to tackle such fighters of old such as Master Yogurt, Lady Mara Jade, LL and Master Bromine so this took very little effort on her part. Shifting the large column of rock with the force so it was horizontal, Videl then flung it at Ravix. Ravix who was still in smoewhat shock by what he was seeing took the full force of it as it hit him and smashed Ravix through a nearby wall.Before the grit and smoke clears, Videl steps through the hole made by Ravix. With a sweeping gesture of her hand, she puts the pieces of the wall easily back into the wall with the force. She waits a moment before lifting the large column of rock that pins Ravix beneath it. Looking at the statue, she knew there was no way of keeping it in place, so she lifted it high into the air then exploded it into millions of tiny pieces that rained down from the sky. Watching her handy work fall all around her for a moment, Videl then turned her attention back to her apprentice and waited for him to attack again.

Battered and torn, Ravix staggered out from the thick cloud of dust. With a hand grasping his shoulder, he slowly trudged toward Videl. Stopping for a brief moment, Ravix brought a hand to his face, wiping away the blood which streamed from his mouth. Ravix gazed at the blood on his fingertips as he clenched them into a fist, the blood oozing from the cracks as his grip tightened.

Lifting his head, Ravix focused on Videl. Reaching into his coat, Ravix made yet another running pass by Videl. Revealing a mechanical whip equipped with small explosives, Ravix quickly lashed it out at Videl. As the end of the whip wrapped around her waist, Ravix unlatched it at its midsection, detonating the explosives on the unexpecting Videl..........

The explosives go off with a loud boom but then something shoots out from the smoke and embeds into Ravix's arm in several places. Looking down as he tries to ignore the pain, he sees what still juts out of them as 4 long daggers are there. But before he can move to take them out the long whipped ends of a cat o' nine tails wraps around his arms and waist then delivers a massive jolt of lightning through him. As Ravix tries his best to remain standing, a punch to his gut knocks the wind out of his lungs and then a high sweeping kick to his neck sends him crashing to the ground. Videl's murky brown eyes then look down at him as her face comes into view.

Better, you actually surprised me there but once again you lost track of me.......

*Videl smirks briefly*

Well I guess that's enough punishment for one day...

*Videl said quietly before she began to heal him by muttering an old phrase in her native language, it was a very uncommon trait in Sith and Videl was one of maybe one or two more Sith that could do it. In a matter of moments, Ravix's wounds began to close up until they disappeared entirely. Grabbing Ravix by the wrist, she then pulled him up to a standing position.

Now being a Sith isn't just being able to attack well, you must also understand the force....

*Videl then lifted a large rock out of the ground with the force and let it hover there for a moment. Then she tapped into the force yet again, drew out her katana and made a swift slash at the air. A shockwave of the force slammed into the rock and cleaved it neatly in two*

The force is a very strong weapon but like all things it must be controlled since power is nothing without control....lose control and the opposite of what you want to do will happen....

*Videl drops her concentration and lets the rock drop*

But when used properly, it is your best defense and ally....

*With a slight wave of her hand, the rock then breaks into millions of tiny shards*

now first, I want you try levitating something with the force....

*Videl looks around a bit before pointing out a rock about half the size of the one she lifted a moment ago*

now let's see if you can lift that much......

*Videl said quietly before sitting down on another nearby rock*

Turning his attention to the rock, Ravix proceeded to go into a trance of deep concentration. By placing an image of the rock in his head, he attempted to find a way of controling the rock's structure in his mind. Try as he may, he couldnt seem to find the trick to this task. After several attempts Ravix began to feel very annoyed and frustrated, clenching his fist in anger as he nashed his teeth. The frustation was to much to bare, and in a fit of rage cursed at the top of his lungs.

It was then he heard the sound of a loud CRACK!!! as the left side of the rock burst into a blaze of rubble. Ravix stood there silently, as he watched the pieces fall to the ground....
