btw, quick warning. Quite a few reviewers who've seen it more than once say it isnt a bit as good as the first time. Not as in "seen it all before", but from great film to quite good. Dont overdo it, youll just ruin it for yourself

Right now, I have myself totally convinced that it's going to be one of the best films ever, and I don't think anythings going to change that.

That's why I am soooo pissed Austrralia gets it in a weeks time. It's genuinely looking like its one of the best movies ever. Now, part of me says "Whoa, remember what TPM was....@#%$" and another part, the part that reads Tolkein says "Whoa...how can LOTR possibly match the book or convert it to screen"

So, I'm hopeful, but not really expectant if you know what i mean. Please let the hype be reality.

Damned, it sucked big time! What disappointment! Bad cast, fake looking effects. Wooden dialogue arghhhhhh....

Right now, my mind is too dazzled to write a coherent and netral, so I will just copy and paste my chat with DT for now!

Part II coming up...

Ok, now I have calmed down somewhat. Feet firmly placed on the floor.

Where to begin? What happened really? Apart from just having the greatest movie experience? Lets just take a quick overview how it proceeded. I enter the theater a bit tired and prepared to be disappointed. Earlier on the day, I had heard some guy on the radio giving it a dice roll 2, so I was mentally prepared it would not be quite as good as I wanted to be. Yes, I was convinced it would be good, but not how good. Not really expecting the fantastic thing some reviewers have proclaimed, I enter the theater. Sit down and read the program all filled to the brim with articles about LOTR, ignoring the commericals.

Then it starts. I will try to describe without revealing any details from the plot (for those that have not read the books and dont want to know). Some stupid fellow on the seat in front of me is partly blocking the lower part of my view, by sitting just a little to much up. Grrr.. not a good start. I am slightly frustrated by this for a few minutes, but somehow, I am quite enjoying myself allready. Great visuals.. no fantastic visual.. great story so far, great introduction. I forget about the front seater, letting myself immerse myself in the movie. To my delight, and surprise, I find there is quite a bit of humor in this movie as well. Some great character portration from the start. In fact, at this point I really start to get fascinated and care about our heroes.

Then it really begins.

I get pulled arms and legs into this fantastic world. There is a sense of urgence and danger. An adrenaline rush not quite seen in any other movie. And it just keeps the pace up! Faster and faster.

3 hours later:

I am utterly absorbed. Really wanted it to last longer. It could easily be 2-3 hour longer. As people leave, they talk enthusiastically about it, planning for future viewings etc. Some, including me head straight back to ticket boot. Long queue. I request a ticket for LOTR at Colosseum (the largest most popular THX theater) at saturday. All sold out until saturday. Some tickets left at the middle of the 5th row. Sunday is even worse.

Wow. I will post part 3 where I go into more depth of the movie, the characters, plot etc. Going to the spoilers such that you have to highlight to read. But first I need some supper. See you later. Hope you have your tickets ordered..
