ahahaha! I am now a legal adult at the ripe old age of 16! I feel so free! Now, people can actually sue ME, not my mom!

uh huh...this is a good thing because?? I'm not saying that it's bad but don't you have to quit school and work full time to pay rent for an apartment and stuff?

May I ask why you wished to become an adult at such a young age?

nope...I'm doing independant study and I can graduate from 11th grade this quarter if I write a thesis, which I've almost finished...I have to get over 90% on the paper to graduate though.

I wanted to become an adult because my Mokm couldn't raise a kid f her life depended on it....I was already raising myself, I just wasn't legally able to move out and do everything on my own

Being 16 is considered being an adult where?

I was emancipated it took a while though. I had to show that I was a legal resident of WA state, that I could handle the financial affairs and other affairs such as education, and if my mom hadn't agreed I would have had to tell why not being emancipaterd would have been harmful which I was prepared to do....luckily she agreed to. I still can't drink or vote legally but I can have my own health services, house, I can enter into binding contracts, be sued in my own name, stuff like that.

yep! I'm moving in a week from tomorrow, to Olympic Village Apartments. $990 bucks a month but it's worth it, and I can cover it if I take the second job. It was either that or the west side apartments in Jackson Park and I wasn't about to live there
