.....When I say that Elrond was the same guy that placed Mr. Smith is 'The Matrix'. When I saw him I was waiting for him to say 'Mr. Baggin's. Give me the damn ring, and where is Gandalf!!!!" It bothered me the whole movie.

Hmmm, and I kept waiting for Gimli to say "Ah Indy! My old friend!"

Ok, ok, I didnt really expect that, but I wonder if I'm the only one who noticed that Gimli played that dude from Indiana Jones, he was in 2 of them... forgot the name right now.

I missed Tom Bombadil, he would of been cool.

John Rhys-Davies from Sliders. Want a Scottish accent? Pick a Welshman <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/image/emoticons_classic/smile.gif ALT=":)">

I have a theory that in CHris Lee REALLY IS a Vampire. Ever seen a recent interview? He stands up straght, and speaks so precisely. Im expecting him to turn into a bat one time!

It's almost as scary as when Chris Walken was staring into the camera in King of New York <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/image/emoticons_classic/smile.gif ALT=":)">

The only reason he stuck out was because 'Agent Smith' in The Matrix was a defining role him. The way Hugh Weaving portrayed the character was unique enough that it has become almost like a signature. It's just like Brent Spiner, who played Data on Star Trek: TNG, or Carrie Fischer as Leia in the Star Wars films. No matter what other roles these people may play (or have played), they'll always be remembered for those signature roles.

Personally, I felt that Hugh Weaving did an admirable job as Elrond. Not great or anything, but still not bad.

Didnt recognise Brent in Independence Day. It didnt feel like he was Data either.

Heck, I could be a better Elf <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/image/emoticons_classic/smile.gif ALT=":)">

Hmm... maybe Fett, but you'd have to loose the horns, the red toned skin, gotee and pointy tail... you can keep the pointy ears though...

Hugo really did bother me. Him and Gandalf. He played Magneto in X-Men. I was waiting for the car the raise up as well and land on the cave troll.

I dont know if i came apart as menancing enough and when the actor named stryder killed the man next to me. I quit the picture. Jackson didnt say there would be real deaths in the movie. I didnt get top billing either like he promised

Actually, I didn't even pay attention to the fact that "Agent Smith" was Elrond until after I had seen the movie. He fit well. Ian McKellen as Gandalf didn't bother me, either: he's been in quite a few movies, and I think he was the best actor for the part. Although seeing Apt Pupil afterwards was a bit strange.

Anybody remember The Adventures of Priscilla: Queen of the Desert? I sure do, lol!
I actually thought Hugo Weaving did a good job, so there. He's come along way since playing Mitzi.
