Howdy gang.

Random Outloud Thought Coming!

I was thinking of a site where both articles on roleplaying were posted. Like a guide to new comers and novices on how roleplaying is best done, written by experienced people. Plus there'd be a full listing of roleplayers along with their contact info and listing of their character's bio, etc. This would make a good resource, yes?

I am going to make this site. But I would like atleast one soul to tell me it's a good idea. That way I don't feel like I'm wasting my time.

BTW, I know I've started websites in the past and not fallen through with them. Not the case here. In the past I was using Homestead. The first time it became to troublesome to update it, since I was using the online sitebuilder. The second time I downloaded the sitebuilder but Homestead starting charging. Now I found a free website service but I'll have to do it in html. But that doesn't matter. I've been aching to get my feet wet in the stuff for over a year now.

IMO, I think it's a great idea! Sounds pretty cool, and I think that it would be a really good thing for newcomers. Sometimes when you're new you feel lost, but with something like that, you always have a source to go to. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/image/emoticons_classic/smile.gif ALT=":)">

Yay!

I think I might of figured out how to get rollover image links. If you don't know what that means, don't worry, it isn't incredibly important. I'd like a flash start page but that's just a wishlist. Anyway, I'm couldn't be more excited! :)

Phathost.com <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/image/emoticons_classic/smile.gif ALT=":)"> But I don't need really need help. Thanks though. See, here's a test page I created real quick using old images.

thesage.phathost.com/test.html (http://thesage.phathost.com/test.html)

Imagine the rollover link image is much smaller and a button link. Then imagine the banner was different and instead of the white "test" text, there was the main content. So I've pretty much created an easy template. Now I just have to create the graphics. That's the fun part. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/image/emoticons_classic/smile.gif ALT=":)">

I mean you send it to a web host or some thing like that but besides that I don't know any about it.

Angel fire is good. They have a basic or a advanced page editor in their webshell (basically your control panel) and it's very simple to use. They give you a free account w/ 20 MB of space to begin with.

Alrighty, updates! I changed my host. My new website is:

www.freewebz.com/thesage/ (http://www.freewebz.com/thesage/)

As you can see, I've got the button links done. Tell me what you think so far. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/image/emoticons_classic/smile.gif ALT=":)">

Crono, use this:

www.freewebz.com/ (http://www.freewebz.com/)

I know this is going to sound unbelieveable and I didn't even think it was real when I first saw it, this is what they offer... 100MBs, no pop banners, no ads, free. All they ask is that you have that little text ad to their site, at the bottom of the website. Amazing. They don't offer remote linking but it's perfect for a site.

P.S.: Wait for the page to fully load to see the cool button rollovers.

Alright, I'm almost done with the graphics. Now I need some volunteers for the first submitted characters. You can just reply in this thread with the info. I'll more than likely copy it and paste it onto a txt file, than upload and link to that. It's easier than having to make new html documents. This is what I need:

Name
Catagory
Bio
Rank(if any)
Character Insight(personality, motives)
Skill Level
Willingness to rp, what rp types interested in.
Contact Info

Anybody can submit, not just Jedi. :)

Name: Xazor Dawnstrider

Category: Jedi

Bio: I was born on the beautiful planet of Cysaria. I never knew my parents for I was raised by the Highest Lord of the Siths. They tried to push their evil ways on me, and they trained me in the ways of the force. I became a Sith Warrior and I was sworn into allegiance to the Sith. My Sith Master talked about another group of people called the Jedi. He said that they were force users who turned the meaning of it around into something that isn't right. I wanted to learn more about these people because they sounded so good and right, traits of which I longed for, for some reason unknown to me. I started to research them. I found a few books and started reading about this "other side". One day as the Masters were doing a routine search of my room, they discovered one of my books. Later that day when I returned, my Sith Master was there waiting for me. He threatened to kill me and threw me to my knees. I bowed my head as he raised up his red-bladed lightsaber. He slashed it hard across my upper right arm and stormed out of my room with only the words, "You will always be aware of my presence and the presence of my kind...". I never found out why he spared my life. After he left, I bandaged my wound, packed lightly, and flew out of the planet on his X-Wing. I had no knowledge of where I was going, but the force led me here. Although I was a full blooded Sith at one time, I felt that it was always my destiny to become a Jedi and follow the good ways of the Force close to my heart..........

And now a new chapter has begun.....my parents have been confirmed dead......killed by my Sith Master. I have been training hard and I am learning the ways of the Warrior Jedi. My Master, Verse Dawnstrider has taken me as his daughter and he is my father fully.....I have finally rid myself of the name "Kama" for I take the last name "Dawnstrider". Life is finally going in the direction that I feel it was meant to.....this is only the beginning of a great story, one that shall play itself out until my last day......

Rank: Jedi Padawan training under adoptive father, Verse Dawnstrider

Character Insight: Xazor is a beautiful young woman of about 19 standard years. She likes just about eveybody, unless they give her a reason not to. If it comes to that......watch out. She is a hard worker and will never give up on something. She is proud of being a Jedi and will do whatever it takes to defend her fellow Jedi and the defenseless. Xazor has a big heart and will help anyone who needs it. She is a mentalist/elementalist and is training as a Jedi Warrior. She is well versed in Force illusions and healing aspects of the Force. She can speak and hear animals, and is very much connected with nature. Her heart is always in the right place....though she can be stubborn at times. Xazor used to have an anger problem, but thanks to a few good souls, she has overcome that obstacle and will never be caught using anger in a battle or any other time. Overall, she is a loyal friend and will lay her life on the line for you. She has big dreams and high hopes and believes that everyone deserves a chance. One of her greatest mottos is, "Anything is possible through the Force" and she will be the first one to tell you that when you're in doubt...

Skill Level: Xazor is a Warrior and a hard fighter. She is sneaky in battles and spars, so be careful. She is a good fighter and can even be a challenge to some in rank above her. If you are looking for a good hard spar, she is the one to ask. As for other skills, she is pretty good at Force illusions, but is perfecting that daily. She is extremely good with her sword and is getting better every day with her lightsaber. She can heal just about every wound she gets, unless it is really bad. She can control the basic elements of nature, and can speak to animals pretty well. Overall, her skills are pretty well rounded, but she is honing them to their best every day.

Willingness to RP/RP interests: I am willing to RP whenever you need me! I will RP just about anything!

Contact Info: Find me at the GJO, or PM me at SWfans. I do not have any Messangers or anything (my comp won't let me; tis a long story). I really do not like giving out my email addy either, but you can usually find me at the two places listed above!
