Hmmmm.....
Favorite is hard. Got a few I like.
Dislike - ANYTHING RAP / TECHNO / POP like Spears or Lopez
Sage Hazzard
Mar 23rd, 2002, 11:48:53 PM
Looooong List, no perticular order:
Weezer(I didn't mind the green album, not much substance)
Remy Zero
Barenaked Ladies
The Wallflowers
U2
Smashing Pumpkins
The Strokes
Tenacious D
Jimmy Eat World
Dandy Warhols
There is more, but they don't come to mind. Some of my favorite songs aren't by these bands, like "Bittersweet Symphony" by The Verve. Yet, they don't have enough good songs to put them on my list.
Dislikes:
Rap/Boy Bands/Kiddie Pop/
Although I think Beck and the Red Hot Chili Peppers are good, but they're rap is mixed in with actual singing and varied melody, not beat boxing.

Favourite (just naming a few, I could go on forever):
Nine Inch Nails
Orgy
Linkin Park
The Cruxshadows
Ash
Fuel
Judas Priest
The Cure
Type O Negative
Dislikes:
Any sort of rap or pop, really. Music needs to have a bit of substance to it, and neither of those genres do.
Plus, they suck

I would just like to add that I am with the consensus opinion that both RAP and kiddy/bubble gum POP music suck.
If you haven't heard of REMY ZERO, I suggest you check them out. They don't really fall under any one music category, and their music is the exact opposite of every disposable pop song that you have ever heard.
Recommended songs:
Save Me (not their best, but most popular)
Gramarye
Goodbye Little World (you could just sit that on repeat)
Over The Rails & Hollywood High
Glorious #1
Temenous (here come the shakes)
Apology For You (my song of the moment)
Someday at Christmas (Sagey's favorite)
These are just a few in a long list of greats.

HEY!!! Don't insult my bling-bling! I earned that with long hours of pimpin'!
What kind of music do those bands play? I'm almost afraid to ask with Spock's Beard.
Quick Note: Someday At Christmas, although it is a Chirstmas Song, is not solely that! It is about humanity and the MESSAGE of Christmas. So don't let the thoughts of Kathie Lee singing Jingle Bells stop you from downloading. Please, just one person download one of those songs. Everyone I ask has never heard of this band. I feel like I'm trapped in TRL hell.

I downloaded some of Cowboy Mouth, they're good. I heard someone on these boards raving about them, so I checked them out. Really good stuff. I might add them after some more listenings.
I could add songs, but they're too many. But I do think "Bittersweet Symphony" by the Verve is a terrific song. It's actually the song I want for the main theme of one of my movies(I rarely pick one).

Lessee here, I've got a few to drop on you, and don't mind if you haven't heard of some of them, I barely found them myself.
Emmet Swimming * Smash Mouth
Spacehog * Eve 6
Owsley * Barenaked Ladies
Out of Mouth * Billy Joel
Souldeep * Linkin Park
John Mayer * Squirrel Nut Zippers
Travis * Fastball
L/P Outsiders * Collevtive Soul
Michael Jackson * Sugar Hill Gang
3 Doors Down * Speech
2 NU * Hot Sauce Johnson
The W's * Powerman 5000
And I don't like:
Unlike most of you, it's not specific genres of music like pop and rap, I just don't like either obnoxious or unimaginative tunes, and really twangy country. Though Foggy Mountain Breakdown is an awesome bluegrass song.
But I do hold a special hatred for that Beatles cover of "Hide Your Love Away" done by Pearl Jam's lead singer.
