Actually it looks like what would happen if they went sued Paint Shop, went to automatic color adjustment, and moved the slider all the way to "cooler". It gives it that cold feel rather than a warm redish hue. But the question lingers, why? Why make this Sith appear bluish when the neato red lightsabre should be it's true color. Makes no sense to me why they'd make it unred.

I think it's cause in general, Obi, Mace, Anakin, and Padme looked good with the red (also, the Rebel's color is red), and Dooku, Jango, and Zam looked good with the blue (also blue is the Imperial's color). After all, the whole Rebel/Imperial is what these stories are leading up to.
