Mercery Oracle
Dec 30th, 2001, 02:51:56 AM
The door security was tight. A four armed, blue skinned hulk is not to be taken lightly.

"I'll have to check that bag, sir", the behometh ordered.

Mercery turned to face the man, who stood behind a security counter that ran along a x-ray conveyor belt. He placed the bag on the counter.

"No you don't. I won't lie to you, I have more artillery in there than a New Republic Commando. Hold it for me."

The blue man nodded as he fed the bag into the x-ray machine.

"Move along," the man said, with a gesture to proceed. He added a complimentary sentiment, "Please."

Mercery adjusted his suit jacket as he squinted at the bar. None of the stools were occupied.

"Don't tell me he couldn't wait for me to park the speeder. I hope this place doesn't have cheap hookers as it's patrons."

He walked over to the bar, stopping periodically for customers who nearly ran into him as they drunkenly stammered about.

"A Tatooine Sunrise," Mercery placed his order to the bartender as he took a barstool that had adjacent spots open. He shook his hand. "No umbrella."

Cypress Oracle
Dec 30th, 2001, 03:31:39 AM
His name was Cypress Oracle. He did not comb his hair, nor did he shave regularly. His lips were a little chapped. Most likely the effect of keeping wet, the tip of too many cigarettes. He was up to two packs a day now. Actually, two and a half. Who was counting?

Cypress looked around the room and noticed Mercery sitting at the bar. He made his way over, a lumber in his walk, eyes half open. He always looked half a sleep. Most of the time he was.

He put a hand on his brother's back and sat down next to him. His hand next found his smokes. He beat the pack against his hand, packing in the tobacco. A cigarette was drawn. He put it in his mouth, lit it.

To the bartender, "Ash tray, guy."

He looked at his brother.

"There is not one hooker in this place. Not one."

He pointed off, across the bar. A rather ugly woman stood at the end of his extended finger.

"See that woman with the sores on her face. She isn't even a hooker... thank god, by the way... look at these people. What is it with the robes? They all look $#@%ing Buddha or something. Real monk $#@%s."

Mercery Oracle
Dec 30th, 2001, 03:39:46 AM
Mercery snatched the cigarette from Cypress' mouth.

"You know this junk isn't good for you."

Mercery took a puff anyway and then put it out in the newly arrived ashtray. Cypress fired up a new cigarette following the extinguishing.

"There aren't any prostitutes because..."

Cypress wasn't looking at Mercery. He slapped the back of his head. He snapped to.

"There are New Republic Special Forces there, there, and there", Cypress directed with his index finger. "That's just what I've counted currently, who knows how many flatfoots they have combing this joint."

Cypress Oracle
Dec 30th, 2001, 05:01:29 PM
"Flatfoots? Try pansy asses. Little pillow biters. Best friend's the boyfriend."

He turned his attention to the bartender: "Gin. Leave the bottle."

Back to his brother.

"You want anything?"

Mercery Oracle
Dec 30th, 2001, 05:17:09 PM
Mercery points loosely to the Tatooine Sunrise being prepared.

He didn't possess the vulgarity that his brother personified. Although he digressed, for he agreed with most of the ugly sentiments offered for the soldiers. Any form of police were plauges upon his life. What were they doing wrong anyway? Just cleaning clocks.

"I would keep my voice down if I were wise. Spice is easily bought, and easily planted by these... pillow biters."

Mercery swiveled his chair to face Cypress, he leaned on his own elbow for support.

"Remind me, why did we enter this scurge?"

Cypress Oracle
Dec 30th, 2001, 05:33:24 PM
"We entered said scurge, because--we need clients. No one has been calling us for jobs lately. I'm beginning to think the answering machine doesn't work."

The bartender approached the two. He gave Mercery his drink, and gave Cypess a small drinking glass, along with his bottle of Gin.

"Hey guy, are you a Jedi or do you just work here", his question, aimed at the bartender.

Blake Hawke
Dec 30th, 2001, 05:48:17 PM
Blake shook her head from her table. Downing the rest of her drink, she got up and walked over to the table. "I couldn't help but overhear you. Don't be so quick to judge the patrons here, boys. Appearences can be decieving. Be cautious."

Avolon Bisel
Dec 30th, 2001, 06:00:04 PM
Avolon smiled, wiping down the bar. He slid a bowl of nuts over to them.

"No, no..." Avolon smiled, holding back laughter. "I'm not a Jedi.... Let me know if you need anything."

These two yahoos were looking for clients? In a Jedi bar? What idiots. He turned away and shuffled the bottles behind him, all the time eavesdropping on the two.

Cypress Oracle
Dec 30th, 2001, 06:26:11 PM
Cypress looked over the girl. His expression, now, wide awake. He straightened up in his chair.

"Oh, you were listening in on our conversation. You're a little sweetie. You--you must be very attracted to me... (in a whisper) sexually. I'm not a man whore, though. You know, if that's what you're looking for."

He clicked his tongue.

"Sorry."

OOC: No disrespect intended what-so-ever. I'm just playing my lude and abrasive character.

Blake Hawke
Dec 30th, 2001, 06:33:37 PM
Blake laughed. "Don't kid yourself. I was just offering a warning. You don't want to learn the hard way, trust me. It's bad for business."

Mercery Oracle
Dec 30th, 2001, 06:37:57 PM
Mercery was about to slap the hell out of his brother. The moron usually made such large scenes the only way to stop them was to pull the curtain.

He was intriuged by the beautiful stranger. The word business always had his ears fluttering.

"Business?" His eyebrow now raised. "What would you know about business?"

Blake Hawke
Dec 30th, 2001, 06:42:42 PM
"More than I care to tell. You don't honestly believe that you're the only two that come in here on business? Like I said before, apperiances can be deceiving."

Mercery Oracle
Dec 30th, 2001, 06:49:13 PM
Mercery nodded. She was blatantly obvious. The woman had to of been dealing in illegal activities. An endeavour Mercery was quite experianced in.

"Well, as you've obviously heard our entire conversation, we're looking for clients. Let's see..." Mercery reached in his pocket and pulled out a card.

The card read: Pendulum Cleaners, Inc. We Clean Clocks.

"As you've said, appearances can be decieving."

Mercery was not a sexual gnit. He didn't have time to let his urges consume him. He was interested on a strictly platonic level.

"So, maddam, do you have a clock to clean?"

Blake Hawke
Dec 30th, 2001, 07:06:04 PM
Blake shook her head. "Nope. Just thought I'd advise your friend here, to keep it down." she eyed Cypress," But I'll keep you in mind for the future."

Mercery Oracle
Dec 30th, 2001, 07:15:27 PM
Mercery hoped she was speaking in reference to the card, not his insanely horny twin brother.

"Let's talk straight here, no beating around bushes. Do you have anyone who needs clocks to be cleaned? We're extremely effective and efficient."

The clock cleaning was a cover for criminal activity. It was the perfect cover, "we clean clocks" meant they'd clean anyone's clock(killing) if it needed to be done. This way the people in the know would understand their true nature, and the others would suspect them to be, well, clock cleaners.

Mercery and his brother Cypress were professional scum so to speak. They'd kill people without regret, burglarize without thought, and were capable of anything that needed to be done.

"Surely in your line of work you have someone who needs to... clean a clock." Mercery was persistant if anything.

Blake Hawke
Dec 30th, 2001, 09:08:57 PM
"I might. There's never a shortage of clocks needing cleaning. But I'd have to check with my partner first."

Mercery Oracle
Dec 31st, 2001, 12:07:23 AM
Mercery's eyes sharpened. A new job in his future, perhaps.

"Does this partner have a name -- Ms....." He lingered to show that he was requesting her name, as well as her partner's.

Blake Hawke
Dec 31st, 2001, 01:07:07 AM
"Hawke. I'd give you my partners name but I'm not sure she'd want me too. I don't know what kind of people she'd like to avoid...most likely him." She jerked her thumb towards Cypress.

Dec 31st, 2001, 02:08:20 AM
s'Il watched Blake approach the two men at the bar, smiling as parts of their conversation drifted over to her. Pocketing her sunglasses, she picked up the sake bottle and cup, and made her way lazily to the group. Her metallic eyes scanned the interior as she walked, watching for NRSF agents before she turned them back to the bar, her slight frame passing easily between tables.
She set the sake on the bar top next to Blake and peered at the card. "Clock cleaners, eh." she muttered, then looked at the two. Emptying the rest of her bottle into the cup, she sipped the liquid. "How many clocks woulds you say you've cleaned to this date?"

Cypress Oracle
Dec 31st, 2001, 02:23:40 AM
Cypress interrupts the flow of the conversation, turning to the new woman at the bar.

"Avoid me. I'm evil."

He raised his arms and made a sound, mimicing a ghost.

"Boo and @#%$. Actually, you're friend here sexually harassed me. She wants my body."

Turns to Blake: "You do."

Mercery Oracle
Dec 31st, 2001, 02:29:23 AM
Mercery shaked his head and hand in sync.

"Ignore him."

Mercery tried to move on. He sighed as he collected his thoughts.

"We've cleaned lots of clocks. Of course we don't have credentials to show because in our line of work, we don't keep detailed records. Not all our clients want the public to know they have dirty clocks." Mercery smiled.

He borrowed Cypress's cigarette and took a small drag before giving it back.

"Trust me, we're more than capable cleaners."

OOC - We actually haven't done jobs, we just started, but our characters have. Although I assure you OOC that we are capable enough RPers to get the job done, for we've been RPing with a multitude of alternate characters.

Dec 31st, 2001, 02:37:58 AM
s'Il looked at the one who'd spoken first. "Uh huh," then turned to the other. "Lok s'Ilancy. And you are?""

Mercery Oracle
Dec 31st, 2001, 02:42:17 AM
Mercery extended his hand.

"Mercery Oracle, Lok S'Ilancy." After he shook her hand he extended it to Blake. "Please to meet you. This is my partner Cypress Oracle."

Mercery returned his hand. He now took another drag from Cypress's cigarette, much to his dismay. He held the lit object.

"So, can we make a deal?"

sIlancy
Dec 31st, 2001, 02:54:13 AM
"Call me s'Il," she smiled. "And as for a deal, I'll have to talk to Ms. Hawke here first, but I have no problems. You look competent enough to me."
Calling to the barkeep, she ordered another bottle of sake. "How long have you been cleaning clocks, Mr. Oracle?"

Cypress Oracle
Dec 31st, 2001, 03:30:23 AM
"Excuse me", he said to the new woman at the bar. "Yeah, I'm a partner too. We're Pendulum Clock Cleaners. You know, cleaners, with an "s". As in the plural sense. I mean-look, I like to feel like I'm at least in the room. I don't like being snubbed, and or totally ignored. I guess I'm funny that way. So let's get something straight.. (somewhat to himself) this is my first rant in a while.. Ms. Hawke, Ms. SIl--if you refer to us, and I mean "us", as in the plural sense.. at least include me in the conversation."

Mercery Oracle
Dec 31st, 2001, 03:36:18 AM
Mercery smiled and chuckled as he placed the cigarette back in Cypress's mouth. He acted like a moron, but he wasn't incompetent. Cypress actually had a better aim with a gun. Mercery made up for it in volume.

"Twelve years. Of course cleaning clocks come with training. So figure fifteen."

Mercery turned to Ms. Hawke.

"I take it this is your partner? Why don't you and her talk it over..." Mercery pointed down the bar. "..there, and discuss it. Me and Cypress can keep ourselves company."

Mercery was extremely eager to close the deal. He hated lingering offers.

sIlancy
Dec 31st, 2001, 03:51:19 AM
s'Il laughed at Cypress, flicking his ear playfully before going to the other end of the bar to talk with Blake. "So whatta you think?"

Blake Hawke
Dec 31st, 2001, 03:57:22 AM
"I think one of them is a dillusional idiot. But they'll also get the job done. I have someone in mind. You?"

sIlancy
Dec 31st, 2001, 04:03:50 AM
"You're right. Hopefully his aim makes up for his mouth." She took another drink, continuing. "I don't have anyone in mind at the moment, but it's always good to have guys like them around. I think we should take 'em up on the offer. Which reminds me, after we're done with them, we need to go to a back booth. I have something to show you."

Blake Hawke
Dec 31st, 2001, 04:07:08 AM
Blakes eyebrow went up. "All right. I may need to knock off Gin Marinda. Not helping the business out. He's taken to attacking people, and that's not the attention we need right now."

sIlancy
Dec 31st, 2001, 04:10:30 AM
"Agreed." Something clicked in her memory, and she stared at Blake. "Don't tell me that was him who thrashed that RSC agent."

Blake Hawke
Dec 31st, 2001, 04:13:26 AM
Blake nodded, her feelings towards Gin and the incident evident in her expression. "His brother. Which also proves a problem. If his brother is working for Cline it could lead to all sorts of unwanted attention. He may not need a cleaning, perhaps just an intense repair."

sIlancy
Dec 31st, 2001, 04:18:59 AM
s'Il groaned. "This is something to watch out for. If you ask me, these guys are what we need. The sooner Marinda is taken care of, the better."

Blake Hawke
Dec 31st, 2001, 04:31:14 AM
Blake nodded in agreement. 'Well we'd better not keep our charming friends waiting any longer."

sIlancy
Dec 31st, 2001, 04:34:50 AM
s'Il smiled, looking back at the two men, and motioned for Blake to lead the way. "After you, Madame," she joked lightly.

Blake Hawke
Dec 31st, 2001, 04:39:18 AM
"Who me? No, apparently I'm just after his body" she joked back motioning towards Cypress. She made her way back to the table where the two Oracle brothers sat.

sIlancy
Dec 31st, 2001, 04:45:07 AM
s'Il laughed as she grabbed the sake bottle and headed back to the brothers. "After his body, eh?" she chuckled, "You better do the wheelin' and dealin'. you're the one who needs their cleaning abilities first."

Blake Hawke
Dec 31st, 2001, 04:51:26 AM
Blake rolled her eyes. "Oh joy, another enlightening conversation on my sexual attractions. Better close this deal then talk about that back booth."

sIlancy
Dec 31st, 2001, 04:55:48 AM
"No kidding. I think you're gonna like what I picked up, so let's hurry."

ooc: we can just go back to the being lazy thread if you want.

Blake Hawke
Dec 31st, 2001, 04:57:19 AM
ooc: all right. We need to wait for the guys to reply in here anyway

Mercery Oracle
Dec 31st, 2001, 05:05:41 AM
Mercery smiled at Cypress. They were joking about something unrelevent. His eyes changed to focus on the two women as they were walking towards them.

"So, ladies, what's your decision? We charge ten thousand credits for a 'cleaning', that charge is not negotiable. Other endeavours are avalible for price altering." Mecery clasped his hands together. "We clear?"

Blake Hawke
Dec 31st, 2001, 05:10:58 AM
Blake nodded. "Tell me, do you do repairs as well?"

Cypress Oracle
Dec 31st, 2001, 04:39:13 PM
It was usually Mercery who handled the business end of the operation, but after Cypress's recent outburst he decided it would be best for him to field the question. He put his best foot forward. It was an attempt at acting business like, for him anyway.

"We do repairs. I, enjoy the cleaning part of the business more. It fufills me. You know, I go in there with a little Pledge, some Windex. My shamy, of course. Clean it right up... but he (referring to his brother), usually handles the repairs. I'm a little too impatient for that...

He loved the sound of his own voice..

"Like, I'll be in a store for instance.."

He pauses, making sure he has his audiences attention.

"I'm bored. There's a long line. So, I stuff the produce in the coat."

He mimics the movement of stuffing an item in his coat.

"Walk out. Little whistle from the lips", he said with a whistle.

He raised his hand in the air.

"Self professed Kleptomaniac... but anyway, I don't have the patience for repairs, really. Clock gives me a little trouble. It's like, who in the hell do you think you're talking to clock? Who's got the Pledge here, me or you? Makes me want to rub it off a litle bit.. with my shamy."

Blake Hawke
Dec 31st, 2001, 04:52:06 PM
Blake stood listening to him talk. "I've never been too patient either. Which is why I don't clean the clocks myself. But this one may not be in need of a cleaning just yet. It needs some repairs, badly. Been moving to fast, getting ahead of the actual time. Think you can handle it?"

Mercery Oracle
Dec 31st, 2001, 05:00:49 PM
Mercery knew the prices he'd give would be too short. The plan was: do it cheap and next time jack up the prices so fast their heads would spin.

"Seven thousand, no haggling. I need the address, the type of local it is, the name, and what's my limit? Is it a touch of oil here, touch of oil there? Or is it a long, calculated repair?"

Mercery was trying to ask if it was a basic "beat up" job, or if it was a torture mission. He actually enjoyed torturing, it was enjoyable as they begged for mercy. Under his calm and cool exterior was the heart of a madman.

"Write it down on a napkin if you don't want the dust bunnies to pick it up." He was refering to the many bugs and NRSF soldiers in the bar. He finished with a smile.

Blake Hawke
Dec 31st, 2001, 08:32:44 PM
"I'm not worried. I was thinking more of a long repair. He's young, got to learn. Don't worry about the address I'll get him to come here. You can take him wherever you want to carry out the cleaning."

Mercery Oracle
Jan 1st, 2002, 02:22:52 AM
Mercery nodded slowly.

"Okay... okay."

Mercery smiled at Cypress, who wasn't paying attention anymore. His brother didn't enjoy torturing, so he went back to his drink.

"When?"

Mercery asked, calmly sipping from his Sunrise.

"... and what should I do with the clock afterwards?"

OOC - So, is this torture? If you've every seen "Resevoir Dogs", that's along the lines of what'll happen. Or I could just beat the tar out of him, and then leave. Same price.

I'd prefer him show up in the bar, then I take him to an alternate location. The new local would be at SWForums.net, I'm hoping he has an account there.

If this is Gin Miranda, IC brother of Keb Blake, I've recently recieved an e-mail from a Syrius Cline, asking if he(Syrius) could perticipate in a police role, giving me some form of competition. Would this be acceptable?

Blake Hawke
Jan 1st, 2002, 02:31:11 AM
"As soon as you can manage it. And when you're done, just drop him off somewhere. Let me know, I'll come pick him up." Blake smiled, enjoying the anticipation she felt.

OOC: never seen Resorvoir Dogs. It doesn't matter to me what you so. I don't think it really matters to Gin either as he's dying soon anyways. he has a global account but I've never been to SWForums.net so I've no idea if he'd be able to post there.
Yep, it's Keb's brother IC and OOC. Sure go ahead...it'll be interesting with more people

Gin Marinda
Jan 1st, 2002, 02:38:32 AM
OOC: HA! Just activated my account at swforums! so we're good to go?

Mercery Oracle
Jan 1st, 2002, 02:51:10 AM
"Here."

Mecery wrote on the business card already handed. It was their comm frequency. Rather, it was one of their many disposable frequencies.

"You call us when it's going down. I'll have your frequency in my comm memory for the dropoff."

Mercery turned to Cypress.

"Let's go."

Mercery downed what he could of the Sunrise as he stood from his stool. He gave Blake a second look before starting towards the door.

OOC - Gin, just post a new thread. Me and/or Cypress will reply with whatever needs to be done. Blake, you post in the new thread that you're calling my comm link, telling me that he's entered. That way I can call you back later. This will go to the BG once me and Cypress put him in our ship, after a forecoming speeder ride.

Syrius is ready. We can start right now.

P.S.:I suggest seeing Resevoir Dogs, regardless. In a part of the movie is a simi-disturbing torture scene.

Blake Hawke
Jan 1st, 2002, 02:56:38 AM
"Pleasure doing business with you." Blake said as they left.

Mercery Oracle
Jan 1st, 2002, 03:01:03 AM
OOC - One more thing. Gin, would you mind if I cut off an ear or something? Sounds dementing, but a few lost digits or extremities would more of a proper torture. Doesn't matter, if you'd rather not have a lost ear persay.

Gin Marinda
Jan 1st, 2002, 03:03:17 AM
OOC: Sure why not? Might as well make this really cool I'm dying soon anyways so feel free to do whatever to me..well the character

Cypress Oracle
Jan 1st, 2002, 03:20:37 AM
Several seconds passed. Cypress's cigarette was down to about a half inch in size. He decided to extinguish it. He grabbed the neck of his bottle of Gin.

Mercery was headed for the door. Cypress began to rise from his stool, a great deal of haste in his movement. He turned to Ms. Blake. His mouth opened. Words did not come out. He gave her a slight wink. His hand formed the phone sign, call me. Cypress turned, his sleepy eyes falling down her body.

He moved for the exit. His brother was receiving his weapons from the guard. The woman with sores on her face stood across the room. Cypress acknowledged her by raising his bottle.

It was back to Sublight. Back to normalcy.

Blake Hawke
Jan 1st, 2002, 03:27:55 AM
Blake smiled and fingered Cypress before he turned and walked out of the Bar and Grill. *Thank God I don't have to put up with that for a bit* she thought as she went to order a drink of her own.
