View Full Version : A man runs into the bar...
Seyxer Kose

...with a look of utter terror in his eyes. A sheen of sweat glistened on his forehead as he ran frantically, pushing people out of his way.
"YOU'VE GOT TO HELP ME!!!"
His eyes darted wildly back and forth, afraid of an unseen threat that could attack at any time. He knew the Jedi were strong protectors, but he doubted they were even that strong.
"HE'S COMING!!!"

Xazor stood up from her place in the bar as the frantic man rushed in.
What's wrong? Who's coming?
She asked. She uncliped her lightsaber and walked over to the man. She was ready to help if her fellow man was in danger.

"IT'S SEYXER KOSE!! HE'S..."
BLAM!
A blaster shot from the front door rang out, the reddish bolt searing into the screaming man's skull. His eyes rolled into the back of his head as he fell to the floor.
In the doorway, a heavyset man with a receeding hairline glanced to the Jedi and NRSF agents around him, allowing his smoking weapon to clatter to the floor.

The Jedi was really confused now. She looked down at the man on the floor and then at the man in the doorway of the bar. NRSF members were all over this place........but why weren't any of them doing anything? She knew that she wasn't supposed to have her lightsaber in there, but she did. She activated it and stepped forward to the man in the door.
What business do you have here?
She asked him in a serious tone.

The man glanced at the ground, and the dead body.
"My business here is done"
Xazor
Jan 23rd, 2002, 04:50:17 PM
Why did you just kill that man?
She asked. He wasn't going to leave that easily. She stepped closer to him and kept her lightsaber in a defensive position.

"Thats the 64,000 credit question I guess.
I'm not talking without my lawyer."
Xazor
Jan 23rd, 2002, 04:59:47 PM
Without your lawyer? I believe you just comitted a crime and you are trying to get away with it! Well, if that is the case......you are sadly mistaken.
She said, shaking her head. She was getting upset with the man now. He was keeping something to himself.......she couldn't figure out what it was though. She scanned his thoughts for a moment and found out that he and this man had some serious conflict.

Under a table crouched Loki, he was terrified; never before had he seen anything like this, on his third day on a Jedi world and he witnesses his first brutal killing. That poor man! Why did he deserve that?
Against a wall, he sat, under a table to the side of the bar entrance with his legs tucked into his chest. It wouldn't be easy to see him, due to the lighting in there, however he was still very afraid.
He wanted to shout out to the lady wielding what seemed to be one of those ancient Jedi weapons he'd read about, a lightsaber! She was definately a Jedi and he wanted to shout out "Stop him, take him away before he hurts anyone else!" - or words to that effect. He would've done this were it not for the doubt he had that upon hearing his voice, the man might turen around and put a hole in Loki's head too!

The man knew he was dealing with the jedi. In his mind, he began to count out the alphabet, backwards. If she tried any mind trick to get in his head, she'd hear only that.
"I'm not talking...without my lawyer."

Xazor held her lightsaber in her right hand as she stood there. She waved her left hand in front of her and spoke.
You will tell me why you killed this man.
She said to him. She scanned his thoughts again and found that he was trying to put up a Force block. It wouldn't work. It was too weak and she penetrated into his mind with no problem. She was much stronger than he thought...or would give her credit for.

(The blaster shot made me pause, my draught in mid transit from the bar counter to my lips. It wouldn't be the first bar murder I'd seen, and wouldn't be the last. I turned on my barstool slowly, to see the guy with the receeding hairline drop his piece. I got a good look at him, and the poor bastard he wasted. I recognized both of them, as gutter-trash guns for hire of varying degrees of worthlessness on Coruscant. From the scene the stiff had made before having his head hollowed out, seems he knew what was coming for him.
And Seyxer Kose...
...I knew that name. A little too well for comfort.)

A rather pissed off General moves to where the gunman is, raising his railgun to point right between the gunmans eyes.
"No lawyer. You shot someone in a military controlled zone. Thence, you answer to me. You have one minute to do so"
Xazor
Jan 23rd, 2002, 05:20:02 PM
Xazor was relieved to see Captain Tohmahawk. She stepped behind him as he spoke to the man.
Thank you, sir....
She said to him through the Force.

The man gave an incredulous look.
"Or what? You'll shoot me, huh?"
Xazor
Jan 23rd, 2002, 05:21:34 PM
Wouldn't mind seeing that happen.....
Xazor mumbled to herself. She kept her lightsaber activated, although Captain Tohmahawk was there.

This was too much for little Loki, he wanted to get out. So promptly, he slipped out from under the table and as quietly as he could made his way towards the exit. Unfortunately that was where the conflict was taking place, so what he would have to do is slip cautiously past the man who had just killed that poor man over there.
He crept quietly, hoping he would not be noticed, edging towards the trio in action. getting close he realised he would have to squeeze behind that wicked man, but he felt safe enough to do so with so many people around.
"Excuse me," he said quietly as he was right by them, he said it almost that naturally, as if nothing was going on; he didn't care he just wanted to get out.
Captain Tohmahawk
Jan 23rd, 2002, 05:56:59 PM
"Or what? You'll shoot me, huh?"
The General snorted
"No actually. We'll hang up up by your genitals and force feed you the most appalling drink we can find"
"And no, I aint joking and nor do I care about what happens to scum like you"
Seyxer Kose
Jan 23rd, 2002, 05:59:47 PM
The man spat on Tohmahawk's gun barrel.
Frell you! I'm gonna get whacked either way. But at least I ain't a rat.

Interlude:
Whilst the heated situation became more tense indoors, just outside the bar an argument between some rowdy locals and four troopers had escalated into a full-blown brawl thus calling for the General's assistance, the Jedi Xazor and others present were left to deal with the murder situation.

I'll have to take care of you for him.......
Xazor said as she got in the man's face.
You're on our turf now.......
She growled at him. She then pointed the end of her lightsaber at him.
Seyxer Kose
Jan 23rd, 2002, 07:42:10 PM
"Are you gonna do anything, or just sit there and threaten me?"
Xazor
Jan 23rd, 2002, 08:12:34 PM
Make threats? Oh, I plan to follow through...
She said as she kept her cool. She smiled at the wicked man and then with a swift and sudden movement, she sliced across the man's chest with her lightsaber. Blood came flowing out of the wound immediatly. He looked shocked as he placed his hand across it.
Thought you'd call my bluff, huh?
She gave a slight laugh.

"Frell you! Stupid naive Jedi harlot! Stick your pointed nose where it fits, and out of my business."
Xazor
Jan 24th, 2002, 11:33:31 AM
You can't handle the fact that I know you're wrong. Naive? I am everything but naive. You don't know me very well, trash.
She spit at the man's feet. She laughed a bit and then suddenly slashed her lightsaber across the wound on his chest, making an X. He looked shocked again, and put both of his hands up to the wound as blood came flowing out. Bystanders gasped as she did so.
I am a protector of the light.....I am a Jedi.....
She growled at the man. She stepped forward and forced him to back up with each step she took. Suddenly she stopped.......there was a member of the NRSF right behind him.

The man winced at the pain.
"More like a Sith...with these thug tactics."
He looked down at his lacerated chest, and the blood on his hands.
"I was hired by Seyxer Kose."
Xazor
Jan 24th, 2002, 01:05:04 PM
A Sith? No, sir. I am only protecting those around me. There is no rule that says that Jedi have to be "nice" to everyone. So......you say you were hired by Seyxer Kose? From what I gathered, you are Seyxer Kose. Lying to me you are.....
She said as she peered into his lying soul.
Speak........or would you like to meet the same fate as him?
She said, motioning to the dead body.
Seyxer Kose
Jan 24th, 2002, 01:13:30 PM
He looked long and hard at her.
"You have no idea what you're getting into here."
He glanced at the body.
"And knowing Seyxer Kose...I'm probably already dead. You can't protect people from somebody like that. Its like....ya know...he can see into your head or something."
Xazor
Jan 24th, 2002, 01:24:43 PM
I have met many enemies that seem "impossible" to defeat.........but I have come through with a victory. The Jedi have special abilities that are no match for someone that can merely "get into your head". I do know what I am getting into. And the only way that you could possibly be dead is by the punishment the government shall give you for killing that innocent man.
She said to him. This story was getting more confusing now. There were so many missing parts.
So.....this Seyxer Kose has a long rap sheet, with the involvements on Coruscant an everything. Tell me more about him........and you. What did he hire you to do? Did it involve that man over there?
She asked, motioning toward the dead body again.

"I don't know anything about him...aside from what I hear from others. Heard he used to be a cadet in the old Imperial Academy on Corellia. Didn't like the military, and started drug trafficking. Some bigger fish roughed him up one day, and he later had them killed. Not only them, but their children, wives, parents, friends, extended relatives, and housepets. He's a real monster. People like that scare me more than any Jedi or Sith. Cause some say he's just a myth, ya know? Like a ghost story, told to all us jobbers to keep our noses from where they shouldn't be. I know though....I know he ain't a myth."
Xazor
Jan 24th, 2002, 01:42:09 PM
If you don't know him.......then how did he hire you?
She asked in a curious tone. This situation was very strange.
If I were you, I'd respectfully fear any Jedi you meet. We are not afraid of those who kill.
She informed him. If it was true that this guy killed all these people.......then why hadn't he come to a place like this yet? Many thoughts crossed her mind at this moment.

As the man tried to explain, a drab and inconspicuous gronk droid wobbled towards the door, and to where he was standing. However, as the droid passed him, it extended its power probuscis, jamming it into his side. Thousands of volts of electricity seared into the man, electrocuting him as he flailed about in pain. After a few seconds, the droid removed the probuscis, causing the man to collapse to the floor. The droid began to smoulder, as its motivator suddenly and inexplicably melted.

Jan 24th, 2002, 01:58:26 PM
Xazor watched as the scene unfolded in front of her eyes. Where did that droid come from? She wondered to herself. She saw the man collapse on the floor. She retracted the blade of her lightsaber and clipped it to her utility belt. She rushed over to the fallen man and check his pulse. He had a dangerously light one. She positioned him on his back and then listened for any sign of breathing. He was hardly breathing. The blood from the wounds she had given him was still flowing out at a quick rate of speed. She watched the droid smoulder for a moment and then focused her attention back on the man. She had learned many healing techniques.....but not enough to heal something like this. The more you do it....the better you'll get at it.....you just have to try..... She remembered her Master speaking these words to her. She placed her hands on the man's chest and imagined the blood stopping and the skin binding together. She pushed the Force into his body to heal these wounds. She then removed her hands to see that the wounds had healed and they only left the light scar of the letter X across his chest. People were starting to gather around them now as she did this. There were gasps in the crowd and light whispers. She listened for breathing again, but it was not much better. His pulse was still weak also. She again placed her hands on his chest and pushed the Force into his body. She imagined his lungs rising and falling normally. She then imagined his heart getting stronger and pushing blood through his veins like it had before. She took her hands away and then put her head down to his chest. He was breathing! His heart was beating normally too. He was still weak, though. He rolled over and his eyes met hers.
We need to get you to the med-bay right now.
She said to him. She looked around at the crowd of people. It was a surprise to her that the whole time this situation had gone down, no one had done anything.......they had all just sat there and watched.
Can I get some help over here?!
She yelled to the bystanders.......but no one moved. What is going on here? She asked herself.

Rescued from certain death as he was, the man was still far from recovery, having plunged into a deep coma.

(From the moment the man had let "Seyxer Kose" slip from his lips, it took him five minutes to get hit. From all the voltage pumped into him by the droid, I thought there was no way in hell he'd live...but he managed it. Still, the quick and ruthless attack on the guy was sobering. It fit with what I knew about the guy's employer, at least. Kose was a monster that scared monsters. How his story was started, I had no idea. Somebody get whacked, and before the pool of blood dries, another perp blurts out "Seyxer Kose". And dead bodies always seem to multiply in shady dealings like that. Another corpse, another one of Kose's victims. You never knew. Could be wholly unrelated, but in the pits of most guys stomachs, it was just another tally mark for him. Maybe it was half of the myth. I had to wonder sometimes if Kose really was the one behind all these things.
As crazy as it sounds, I believed it most of the time.
I walked over to where he was laying, and began to work with the Jedi to help him up. From there, we hefted him to the infirmary, a block away.)
Xazor
Jan 24th, 2002, 02:17:00 PM
Xazor looked around at the motionless people. They just stood there, as if she was asking the impossible of them.
I need some help.......he needs to get to the med-bay, but I alone cannot take him.
She said to the people. Suddenly three men stepped forward.
We are willing to help. What will you have us do?
The oldest of the three asked.
You have to help me carry him to the med-bay. We have to get him there now!
She said to them. The three men nodded and went on each side of him. On the count of three they had picked up the man and were walking out the door.
And someone do something about the body. Take it to the NRSF headquarters as a source of evidence.
She instructed the people. A few men went over to the body and picked it up. They followed Xazor and the three men out the door. Once they were outside, the quickly made their way to the med-bay. They arrived after five minutes of walking. They summoned the droids and men that were working in the med-bay that day. They laid him on a bed next to a wall. Xazor looked at one of the workers and spoke.
My name is Xazor, and I am a Jedi. This man came into the bar and killed another man. His body has been taken to NRSF headquarters as evidence. This man needs serious medical attention now. He is in a deep coma. I healed his other wounds, but there is nothing I can do about the coma. Once he has been treated and has awoken, do not let him out of here. He needs to be escorted then to the NRSF headquarters for questioning. If they need to speak to me, here is my contact information.
She said and handed the man a small piece of blue paper. The man nodded and bid them leave. Xazor and the three men walked out of the med-bay.
Thank you again.......I don't know exactly what happened in there........it has been a long day.
She said with a slight laugh. The four of them walked back to the bar to assure that everything was fine.

(I lit up a stim to take the edge off my nerves. One murder and one attempted murder in a day. I'd seen worse on worse days, but still...it wasn't something to sit back and enjoy. After taking the man to the infirmary, I just needed to wind down. Everything had gotten me wound up.)
Xazor
Jan 24th, 2002, 02:36:10 PM
Xazor saw the man light up. Must be nerves..... She thought to herself. They continued walking toward the bar.
So......have you seen many killed?
She asked the man closest her.

Yeah, I guess you could say that.

Jan 24th, 2002, 03:49:14 PM
Xazor looked at the man and then at the ground as they walked.
It's a shame that so many lives are lost when you are right there and have the ability to do something..
She said, pausing for a moment.
I used to be a Sith Warrior......I saw too many killed.........and even killed some myself.
She said with a heavy sigh. It was nice to be a Jedi and not have to kill to live. It was an awful thing..she hated doing it......seeing it.

(I shrugged, walking away. It didn't matter, in the scheme of things. Just another small-time player to get ground up in the hard-knock life of the underworld. It had happened plenty of other times. No sense in getting overly misty about it.)

(I turned around, a curious look on my face. A Jedi that didn't know my name? Didn't they keep a pretty thick rap sheet on me, whether it was real or imagined charges? From my first trip to Arcan, they'd been suspicious of me, much to my chagrin. They seemed alright guys, just a little untrusting of business entrepeneurs such as myself.)
Name's Sanis Prent. Don't believe I got yours either.
