s'Il walked into the B&G silently, checking her cutlass and blasters. She wore sunglasses to hide her eyes, and she wore a pair of grease-stained infantry trousers and a black shirt with faded white lettering on the back. Her hair was down, and a few strands fell in front of her face, but she brushed them away with a casual hand.
Making her way to a far booth, she lowered her small frame into the seat while calling a server droid over. "A bottle of Gekkaiken sake, and heat it up, will you?"
She wasn't here for business, she was here to rest. She wanted no trouble, only a chance to unwind after a long day. *And what a day it's been,* she thought lazily,*nonstop; 5 deliveries, two new clients, a couple of pick-ups, and finally topped off with a 'house call' to a now former rival. All in one day.*
Her sake arrived, and the droid set the bottle and small cup on the table. s'Il picked up the cup, and sipping the contents, sighed. She leaned back, drinking once more and closed her eyes, the sunglasses still on.

Kyry

Checking her weapons at the door of the B&G, Kyry surveyed the establishment. Her eyes came to rest on a woman in a far corner wearing sunglasses, and she grinned. She walked to the far booth and sat down. "Heard you were back in town." She picked up s'Il's drink, sniffed it, and making a sour face, set it back down. She called to a server. "Barabel vodka, straight up."
Leaning forward, her arms resting on the table, she spoke again, this time lower; just above a whisper. "You got the rock?"

Avolon Bisel
Dec 30th, 2001, 03:29:28 PM
"Hey -- Hey... Yeah you." Avolon whispered choppily to Max, the Astromech coverted to waiter. "Those women you just got the order for.... anything suspicious about them? Whenever I see two broads walk in with weapons and sunglasses, my spidey sense tingles."

Max twittled that Avolon was a moron.

"Touche, buddy, but I'm right here." Avolon pointed loosely to the two women. "Go over there, serve her the drink, then just...."

Max beeped a "what?"

"I don't know..... Linger. You're good at that."

Max rolled his eyeports.

"You're a friggin' 'droid man, no one gives a hoot about you wheeling around like an old man at a duck pond!" Avolon slapped the dome.

The Astromech stuck out an electric prod. He zapped Avolon for good measure. Avolon had an immunity to it by now.

"... Are you up to it? This is our job now... don't screw up."

The Astromech tweeped "yeah, yeah" as he rolled back Kyry's drink.

As Avolon watched the 'droid roll off he picked up a card he'd been eyeing for some time.... "Republic Security Corp."

"They could haul these two off if I detain them... right? That is what they do, isn't it?" Avolon played with the card, flipped around his fingers often.

The 'droid had now served the lady's drink now. He pretended to be sweeping the floor with a small broom attachment. Of course it was actually sweeping, but the true intent was spying.

s'Il watched the droid deliver Kyry her drink, then took a sip of her own. "Shove off, Kyry. I'm not here on business." Looking down, she took the sunglasses off. When she raised her head once more, her metallic eyes shone brightly, though a hint of mischief could be seen. "Now go away before I feed you to my cat."
She took another drink of her sake.

Kyry
Dec 30th, 2001, 04:48:40 PM
She stared at s'Il for moment, then laughed. "Feed me to your cat, that's a good one." She downed her vodka. "s'Il, you don't even have a cat."
Kyry ordered another shot, and went on. "Fine. I won't bother you. But, you do have the one thing that everyone's gonna be looking for, and that's all the matters, isn't it." she took her drink from the droid and tipped it back, draining its contents. Setting the glass none too lightly on the table, she put a few credits down and stood. "By the way, I accidentally blew up your droid."
Turning, she walked back to the door, picked up her weapons, and strode out, disappearing into the crowds outside.

"How the hell do you 'accidentally' blow up a droid," she muttered, pouring more sake into her cup. Alone once more, she tinkered with the sunglasses, tapping at them with her fingernail while sipping her drink.
She looked once at the astromech sweeping the floor by her table, then leaned back, expelling a long, low breath.

s'Il sat back down, waiting for Blake to sit.

Blake walked over and sat down. "So what was it you wanted to show me?"

Carefully pulling a small black case from a zipped pocket in her pants, s'Il passed it discreetely beneath the table. The object it held was large for what it was, fitting easily into one's palm. "Got this back last night from an old 'friend' who is sadly no longer among the living. Been looking for it, and him, for seven years. What do you think?"

Blake Hawke
Dec 31st, 2001, 05:15:43 AM
Blake held the case lowered, and under the table slightly. She opened it and surprise was visibly registered on her face.
The glittering rock containes inside was a valuble posesion to say the least. "I think this is pretty god damn amazing. How does the story go?"

"It's actually pretty funny, retrospectively, though I wasn't laughing when it happened. It had to be at least 7 years now, I was pulling a job on Coruscant. This was back when I worked alone.
"So here I am at this museum, 2 in the morning, pitch black, nobody around. I'd gotten in through the overhead cooler ducts; it helps to be as small as me, and made my way to the target when one of the panels under me buckles and I fall all thirty feet to the ground. Land on my back cursing, and ten seconds later Imp gaurds show up. I'd had the good fortune to land next to the rock I was after, and broke the glass, pocketed it, and ran. I got past the gaurds easy. I lost them on the streets, and made my way offworld. The news on the holovids the next day all ran the story, but to my surprise, I wasn't mentioned at all. Another jewel thief, Thalonne One-to-One had been there before me, took the real one, and put a replica in its place. He knew I was after this stone, and decided to put one over me. That's why the panel was loose and gave way when I was on it. Needless to say I was not happy; I'd just got done ripping a fake rock. It took me 7 years to track Thalonne down. That's where I was last night." She smiled. "I've got my rock, and Thalonne's got a bullet in his head."
Taking a drink, she went on. "I was thinking it'd look nice on the desk back at the office."

Blake, who had been grinning through the whole story, laughed. "You are something else. Remind me to tell you about the Mishila job I did, sometime. that'll make you laugh. I still can't believe this. i can imagine your face when you found out it was a fake." Blake chuckled again.

s'Il laughed as well, "Yeah, I was so pissed went to a bar that night looking to brawl. I was already smashed before I got there, but hell, I wanted to fight, and so I started one." She smiled at the memory, and sighed. "Knocked out 12 guys including some of the local authorities before they carted me away to the drunk tank." Her eyes glinted. "It took five of 'em to get me out the door; or so the barkeep told me."

"Okay, keep in mind this was my first job. I park my ship IN the city park woods- like people aren't going to notice that. Museum on Mi-DO-NOT-SWEAR--DO-NOT-SWEAR--DO-NOT-SWEAR--DO-NOT-SWEAR-a, beautifull place. White marbel, gold trim you get the idea. Well anyways, I decided I was going to waltz in there and take this painting...in broad daylight. I was cocky. It seemed like a good plan at the time. The room it was in would be empty when they changed gaurd shifts, and how long could it take me to come down from the ceiling? Well I was wrong. As I'm coming down, the rope gets tangled. I'm just above the painting and I cant move a @#%$ inch. So I cut teh rope. Brilliant. Grab the painting and just as I'm about to shimmie my ass up the rope, who walks in? These two gaurds. So naturally I did the first thing that came to mind. I THREW THE PAINTING AT THEM! Now get this...these guys are so surprised that they start shooting. So the painting gets shot to hell and I managed to climb up the rope. Well by this time they had alerted the other security gaurds and their waiting for me outside. By some act of God o luck or whatever you believe in, I manage to lose them in the city park. So I'm running through the wood heading towards my ship feeling pretty high on myslef and guess what gets me? A tree. I trip over a tree, sprain my ankle. After all that, I get caught by a tree. Not only that, I lost my cargo!"

s'Il held a hand over her mouth as Blake was telling her story. She was trying to stifle her chuckles, but when Blake got to the part about the tree, she burst out laughing. "My god, that's great!" She sipped from her cup. "You know, we should pull a museum job sometime, just to see if we still have what it takes." She laughed again, a picture of Blake tangled in the rope above the painting flashing through her mind.

ooc: I'll have to draw that one, lol!

"No kidding." She took another drink, letting it slide down her throat as she leaned back. "The stone is completely flawless, by the way; last I checked it was worth a little over 10 million, but that was a while ago. I don't think we should get rid of it, it's too nice."

s'Il smiled. Pocketing the parcel once more, she zipped the pocket closed and took a sip of her drink. "I've got a friend who's gonna appraise it for me. He should be here soon." She ran a hand through her hair, sighing, then yawned. "I hope he gets here soon, though."

Ekiehl
Jan 2nd, 2002, 02:31:32 AM
Ekiehl walked into the B&G, his eyes wandering the patrons as he checked his weapons at the door. He was a slim man, in his mid-forties with dark brown hair and grey at his temples; his cold blue eyes narrowed when he saw s'Il and Blake in a far booth. Normally he wouldn't be bothered to leave his bar, the Lazy 'I', but s'Il had sent him an urgent message about her diamond; the one she'd been trying to get back from Thalonne One-to-One for 7 years. She had it; and wanted him to appraise it for her.
He'd known s'Il for a long time, ever since busting her out of the spicemines on Kessel, and the two had formed an efficient business arrangement over the years; he supplying her with certain goods, and she keeping the law off his back for his other dealings.
Walking up to the table, he slid in next to s'Il and coughed. "You wanted me to look at something."

He grunted. Placing the small package in an inside pocket of his jacket, he stood and made his way to the men's room. Opening the door, he stepped swiftly inside and went to the last stall. He shut the door behind him, and pulled the box out. Pulling out the stone while digging through his pants pocket for a small magnifying glass, he held it towards the light. He scrutinized it; it certainly was exquisite, and he whistled to himself. Studying it once more before packing it away, he chuckled. "Oh s'Il, you sneaky little woman. If the law knew you were the one that has this rock....."
He left the bathroom quietly, and sat back down, handing the box back to s'Il. "It checks out. I estimate about 15.7 million," he muttered softly.

Tevit Ramadon
Jan 2nd, 2002, 05:33:30 PM
The pair's last notions to back out dissapeared when they passed through the door of the B&G. Nehantites always stood out in a crowd, being an unfamiliar species to those who hadn't seen them before. From a backwater planet, they were a laughing stock of many with better tecnology, which was most the universe. Though sentient, they resembled mongooses in body, thoguh walked and moved much like men, and posessed the same capacities for speech and thought.
Spotting s'Ilancy, Anauri, the older of the two by more than double Tevit's age of nineteen, selected a table they could safely watch from and sat down.
"So, what'll you thinl'll happen?" Tevit, a young yellow-furred Nehantite said while beginning to pull off the light jacket he had put on for travel.
Anauri, being of larger build, brown fur and more common sense, immidiately stopped him and whispered through set teeth, "Don't take that off. You've got guns on, and we don't want to attract attention. Just look at the menu, and we'll order something in a bit. Right now we just watch. Got it?"
Tevit grumbled and lowered his red eyes to look over the menu, then getting lightly punched in the arm as he looked over the alcoholic drinks that anauri had recently disallowed him.

*15.7 mil,* she thought, her mind running like clockwork. Casting a metallic gaze at Ekiehl, she spoke. "So how's the books these days, anything good?"

Ekiehl
Jan 2nd, 2002, 10:56:30 PM
"The books are fine." He stood, getting ready to leave. "I'll need you next week for a fight, though." He sneered, "Some jack-@$$ wanna-be player thinks he's got someone who can knock you out."
Leaning on the table, he pointed a finger at her. "I know you can beat him, but don't screw around. There's been alot of money already put down on this match, and it's still a week away. I want it clean; two rounds max."
Straightening, he turned to leave. Accepting his blasters with a curt nod to the security officer who handed them back, he stepped out the doors.

Avolon Bisel
Jan 3rd, 2002, 01:10:04 AM
Avolon was already on the commlink. He ducked behind the counter, now unseen. His Astromech had fed the entire conversation.

"Syrius?"

"What in the bloody--who is this?"

"Avolon Bisel, at your service," he grinned mockingly, even though it was unseen by the other end. He paused. "I got your card, moron."

Syrius chuckled over the commlink.

"Is there a disturbance?"

"There will be. Get your sorry kiester over here. Where are you anyway? There's a diamond here that's worth more than my life, and that's too expensive. It was ripped off from some place, I can't remember the name."

"Actually, mate, I'm headed for the pub now."

Avolon looked over the counter. Syrius waved, an odd smile on his face. He was just now getting past the security counter.

As soon as he entered through he saw.....

OOC - Once Syrius posts, run outside, s'll. You'll have a reason. Just exit the bar and don't go too far, just round the security checkpoint and start heading down the parking lot. Myself, Syrius, and the Oracles have a little plan, s'll, it'll be good.

Syrius Cline
Jan 3rd, 2002, 01:24:15 AM
... Blake Hawke. Detective, she was not. Hawke had pulled the wool over Tohmahawk's eyes, but Syrius still had suspected her. Now it was payback. Whoever the other lady was, didn't concern him.... at the moment.

"Look who we have here--Ms. Hawke."

Syrius walked calmly over to the table, he tapped Blake on the shoulder. Her companion already noticed him, but it didn't matter.

"Shouldn't you be patrolling the streets, detective?" Syrius asked coldly. "Well, you lose, love."

Syrius tipped back her chair, looking her in the eye from above her head.

"R.S.C. we're legit. You, are a fraud. You, are under arrest."

Just then Sillancy moved out of her chair, begining to bolt. She obviously thought Syrius was after her as well, she did have stolen goods after all.

"Syrius!!!!" Avolon called out from behind the bar. He now had his blast and smash rifle aimed. "Get the girl!"

Syrius was confused. Wasn't that what he was doing? He never even considered the other woman.

Avolon restrained his fire. If he shot, it could destroy the diamond, which would get his behind thrown in jail for destruction of evidence. Plus it was a very... very expensive piece of material.

Syrius had his hands full with Blake's chair, Avolon was jumping the counter, and the door guard was going off shift. The next guard would be on shift in two minutes, a minor lapse in security. Avolon was darting towards the bolting s'll while she was nearing the door.

OOC - Like Avolon said, just run outside and don't do anything else. The Snatch will begin.

Blake Hawke
Jan 3rd, 2002, 02:00:36 AM
Blake didn't bother trying to run. It wouldn't work. Jail time didn't scare her, she'd been through it all before on all sorts of levels. "Mr. Cline, we meet again. How are you? I suspect I've won a vacation, is that it?"

s'Il was definately ready to leave. Grabbing her sunglasses while standing, she stepped swiftly past Cline just before Bisel shouted at him. Cursing, she broke into a run and made for the doorway. There was no way she'd leave this place without her weapons, though, and stopping, she ducked into the guards station, now vacant for the moment, and retrieved her blasters, shockboxing gloves, and cutlass. Grinning, she looked back, watching as Bisel tore through the tables toward her. Giving him a mock salute, she ducked outside.
Sprinting out into the open, she buckled on her blasters, making a sharp right into a side alley. Stopping, she ducked behing a pile of cargo crates and strapped on her cutlass. The gloves followed next, and getting up carefuly, she started off at a jog.

Tevit and Anauri watched as the scene unfolded, and as s'Ilancy bolted out the door, they looked at each other and rose from their table and exited as inconspicuously as possible, thogh still setting off the alarm as they passed through it with their weapons.
By the time they reached the parking lot, s'Il had allready gone a good ways, and the two mongooses broke into a run to catch up, knowing that if they lost track of her that they'd be in serious trouble. Both Anauri and Tevit quickly thanked themselves for now bringing their swords, a large piece of metal like that bouncing off your hip was not condusive to running. anauri also thanked his false knee for having repaired itself quickly, allowing him to run just as fast as his young friend.
Spotting a possibly dangerous character, and seriously hoping they hadn't been spotted themselves, the two Nehantites ducked behind a corner and watched the next part of the bizzare run take place.

OOC- Okay, I'm trying my best, but have little idea what's going on. I think I'm goign to end up as the two guys who get all the bad luck, but I'm not sure. Let me know if you've got something planned for me. You too, s'Il, O one who got me in this whole mess...

Kyry
Jan 4th, 2002, 01:29:56 AM
After leaving the B&G, Kyry had decided to find a gunshop. She found one on the main thoroughfare, and grinning to herself, she opened the door, stepping inside.
Chimes anounced her entry, and a weasely head popped up from behind the counter. The man it belonged to was small, not quite as tall as Kyry, and walking from behind the counter, she noticed he had a limp.
"Can I help you?" his voice left a lot to be desired.
Letting her eyes wander, she took in the firearms lined along the walls. "Yeah," she started slowly, "you got anything beside handguns?"
"Of course. We have rifles, shotguns, repeaters-"
"Bigger," she cut him off.
There was a short silence. "Uh......bigger?"
Kyry rolled her eyes. "Yes, something bigger. E-webs, maybe?"
He looked at her like she was crazy, saying nothing.
"Do you got 'em or not?"
"Y - yeah, I got a few," he managed to stammer, then, collecting himself, he went on. "but it's gonna cost you."
She looked at him, sarcasm dripping from her tone. "Can I see them?"
The man nodded, then hobbled to the back of the shop and disappeared through a back door. Kyry stood, waiting, and crossed her arms in near-disgust. She watched as the man came back out, carting an E-web repeating blaster; wrapped up in a dirty brown blanket.
With difficulty he hoisted it up and set it on the counter. Unfolding the material to reveal a clean, jet-black and smooth barrel, he stood back slightly to let Kyry examine it. With little to no effort she lifted it. She wasn't a large woman; in fact she was quite slim, but she had muscle. More muscle, it appeared, than the keeper of the gunshop.
Bringing the large blaster to her shoulder, she sighted along the barrel. After a moment, she set the E-web down, leaning it against her body, and pulling out a credcard, dropped it on the counter. "I'll take it."
The man said nothing; just picked up the card and made the transaction. As she waited, Kyry busied herself with observing the crowds outside. Then she saw s'Il fly by the window, heading full bore down the street.
"Here you go, ma'am," the man said, looking up from his now completed task and holding out the credcard to an empty shop.
Kyry had shot from the door at a dead run chasing after s'Il, her new purchase cradled in both hands. *wasn't my card anyway,* she thought ruefally, silently thanking the poor individual she'd stolen the card from earlier that day.

Cypress Oracle
Jan 4th, 2002, 04:30:39 AM
Cypress and Mercery Oracle stood behind a wall at the end of the alley. Cypress peered around the corner. He saw S'Il. She was jogging right toward them.

"Ew, she a jogger. Two claps for her."

Cypress clapped his hands together, barely touching. He held a crowbar in his right hand. S'Il approached Cypress's position.
When she rounded the corner she veered left, crossing their path. Cypress swung the lead pipe in his right hand. It connected with the back of her left knee, causing S'Il's knee to buckle. She stumbled to the ground, losing the diamond in the process. The object flew from her hand. It was if the scene were in slow motion. S'Il fell to the ground, watching her precious diamond become a victim of gravity. The diamond began to fall, rotating slowly. A hand reached out... It was Mercery's.

"Holy @#%$. Good catch Merc."

The two brothers looked at each other for a moment. Then, they decided to bolt. They took off toward their speeder. It was parked three blocks away. The Oracles sprinted toward the next main street. Cypress slowed his step to celebrate...

"Did you see that?! I totally %$#!ing Tonya Hardinged that bitch. Bam!"

He swung the crowbar, mimicking his previous swing as he shouted the onomatopoeia. Mercery was more than a few strides in front of him. Cypress tried to speed up.

"She flicked my ear, man. You remember that?"

OOC: Wait for Mercery's reply before anyone interferes with us. We have a plan... A diabolical plan. Mwa ha ha.. (I'm rubbing my hands together). <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/image/emoticons_classic/smile.gif ALT=":)">

Mercery Oracle
Jan 4th, 2002, 04:51:59 AM
A small fee... that's what the Bothan Spynet representive had said to them. For a small fee they recieved a direct streaming video from within the bar. The camera was planted in a service droid, a janitor. It was a new model of droid and the NRSF soldiers hadn't checked it yet. It was commisioned that morning, after all. Their payment was for 24 hours, fifty thousand dollars. Bothan's knew what their spynet was worth. They didn't give their info away.

"Vividly," Mercery mocked Cypress, sprinting.

They had first contacted the Bothans a day after meeting with Hawke and SIlancy. They learned everything there was to know, for an additional cost of seventy five thousand. They were aware of the spice mine number she was placed in, the musuem name(Gellao) she broke into, the man she killed(Thalonne One-to-One), everything. The diamond sparked Cypress's interest. The Bothans informed him and Mercery that the diamond was appriased by museum employees at sixteen million, Republic standard exchange credits.

The video feed was snowy, but viewable. Once she started to bolt, Mercery and Oracle moved into position. They were already walking to the bar from their far away speeder anyhow. Getting into postition was easy after the droid moved to the window to get a good view.

"Go on a diet," Mercery said as they ran, panting himself. "With me."

Mercery was given the burden of the weapons bag. It was in the form of a backpack, the loops properly placed around both of his shoulders. Cypress had commented before about how "uncool" it looked, he prefered the one shoulder strut. But he didn't anticipate sprinting with the cumbersome apperatus.

"Something tells me we should have killed her," it was too late, they were approaching the corner.

s'Il saw, too late, the crowbar as Cypress swung it; felt it slam into the back of her knee, and felt also the lancing pain travel through her leg, reverberating against bone. She hit the ground solidly, watching from her peripheral vision Mercery's catch of her stone. HER stone. Unfortunately, she could do nothing, clutching her knee as the two ran off, she glared at them as they were getting ready to round the corner.
"Why you sorry pieces of $#%@!!!" she yelled at them, "I'm gonna skin you %&#$-ing pricks alive!" Grabbing at a wall support, she pulled herself to her feet and pulled out one of her blasters. Levelling it, she fired. The shot hit the wall next to Cypress' head and exploded, sending a shower of stucco into his hair. Her metallic eyes glaring full and complete hatred, she spoke in a growl. "Now, I won't presume to know what mynock you boys were sniffing today, but I suggest you give that back to me or I swear to every god there is in this damn galaxy I'll spread your brainpans all over the walls behind you."

Their new employer was down. That was a bad thing. Their new employer's gigantic diamond was now in the hands of those who downed her. That was an even more bad thing.

Exchanging glances with each other, Tevit and Anauri broke cover and dashed out to s'Il, who was getting up. The older mongoose hooked an arm around ehrs to help while Tevit glanced at the runnging figures, then back at Anauri.

"Go!" The brown Nehantite yelled in their language, hauling s'Il to her feet, "Loose that diamond and we lose our jobs, I bet!"

Tevit needed no more encouragement than that as he broke into a flat dun, discarding his old light coat as he went.
The same as their non-sentient kin from other worlds, Nehantite mongooses were known for their speed. Tevit was no exception, being fit, young, and full of energy. His boots slammed a thundering bassline as they hammered across the pavement in pursuit of the Oracles. It was unknown wether his magnetic boots either stopped making noise, or the Oracles just didn't them clapping off the ground beacuse of their excitement, but whatever the cause, Tevit caught up to them, and hard.
"Hurrrr-AAARRGH!" Tevit roared, a snarl caught in his throat and his eyes having washed fully red in his anger while he leapt at Cypress, the apparently slower of the two. Catching him full in the back, the two went crashing to the ground, though the yellow mongoose had overdone it, and his momentum caused him to slide forward over Cypress's supine form and onto the ground in front of him. Quickly tryign to recover, he pulled one of the blasters from his shoulder holster and spun around to face them, but beacuse of his slip-up, he knew he was probably allready in trouble.

OOC-Whee, wasn't that fun? Feel free to knowck Tevit around a bit. He's a good fighter, but not all that strong, he mainly relys on his speed and wits.

Cypress Oracle

As Tevit jumped on Cypress's back Mercery was continuing his pace. Cypress reached his feet surprisingly fast. He and Tevit were facing each other. Tevit with his blaster, Cypress with his measly crowbar. Mercery turned back. He saw the two from a distance of about 25 ft.

Cypress assumed the diamond was what the man was after... He pointed to his brother, a short distance behind Tevit.

"He's got the diamond man."

Indecision. Tevit turned his head, trying to place tabs on the other Oracle. That's when Cypress let him have it. The crowbar connected with Tevit's throat. The man gagged. His trachea began to close, lungs constricting. Another swing, connecting with Tevit's hand. He released his grip. The blaster hit pavement. Cypress's next swing found Tevit's ribcage. The man bent over, searching for more oxygen. A backhand with the object cut the left side of Tevit's jaw, causing a deep contusion. It rocked his teeth, chipping through enamel. The man was now huddled over. Cypress came down on the middle of his back, hard. Tevit's knee's gave out. He fell to the ground. Now, repeated beatings. Cypress reigned down on Tevit, hoping to crack open his skull.

Avolon Bisel
Jan 4th, 2002, 11:21:26 PM
Avolon was coming out of the alley now. He saw the woman first.

"Crazy broad."

Avolon kicked her wrist before she could respond. Her blaster went flying. He didn't know what kind of creatures her friends were, but it didn't matter. He leveled the rifle at the man next to her. He shot two rounds into his chest. The man stumbled back and clutched where he was shot. Luckily for him, Avolon was using supression rounds, beanbags in essence.

"Where's the rock?!" Avolon asked SIlancy.

Before she could answer Avolon had elbowed her hard in the jaw, knocking her to the ground. He had figured it out as he was asking her, the two Oracles had it.

"You're not even a good thief, pathetic," He mumbled as he shot a suppresion round into her head.

The ex-bounty hunter didn't have feelings of remorse for pummeling people.

"Never, NEVER, do a deal in a public place!"

Avolon figured those two would be down for a few moments. He had to capture the diamond and return it to the authorities. These two people, now on the ground, were his allies at the moment.

He threw his rifle across the street, it stopped next to a parked speeder. Avolon pulled out two handguns from his waistband, fully loaded with live bullets, not suppression. He used them for cover fire as he ran across the street, rolling at the end. Now he had cover, the speeder. He reached out with his left hand, around the other side of the vehicle. He shot five rounds, just to get them ansy. Pulling back, he was safe again. His guns were quickly being reloaded as he spoke.

"Oh... They're dead. They--are--dead!!" Avolon was now reloaded, ready to go to war.

OOC - I was supposed to do this last night, but I changed it to accomodate your posts.

The click of a new bullet being loaded sounded from behind Bisel, and the barrel of Kyry's new E-web stared him in the face when he turned around. "Who the @#%$ are you, and you wanna tell me why the %#&@ you shot my best friend with a $&*#-ing suppressor."
She held the huge gun two inches from his nose.

Avolon laughed.

"You, ma'am, are a nut job. I shot your friend, because she was going to interfer with me and she would have bolted. She'll be woozy for a few minutes but she'll recover. It's a bean bag. Chill."

The soldier had lightning fast reflexes. He was approaching forty, and his years of experiance had molded him into a great warrior. His twin guns were now pointed at her. It didn't take much effort, and she was unaware of the movement. All he did was twist them to aim at her. They were near his waist.

"I have two guns. You have one," Avolon smiling.

Avolon liked women, like all men. So he was calm and dashing as could be.

"I suggest you sit next to me and help me bring down these bastards, or else you're going to be hauled to NRSF HQ for questioning, and threating a soldier doing his duty."

Avolon smiled again, he couldn't stop. His guns cocked to emphasize his point.

"They're bound to start firing soon. Let's help each other out. You kill me, you're going to jail for life. You help me, you get off free."

OOC - E-Web? What exactly is that?

s'Il moaned slightly, getting up while rubbing her head where Bisel had shot her. Standing, she picked up the blaster that'd been kicked from her hand and holstered it. " 'bad thief' my @$$," she growled, "Moron, I wasn't even making a deal."
She heard Kyry's voice, but ignored it as she ran as fast as she could; limp and all, to the nearest ladder. Shimmying up, she was making her way across rooftops when the Oracles started their assault. Pulling out her blasters, she continued in the direction of the two brothers.

Mercery Oracle
Jan 5th, 2002, 12:05:44 AM
Cypress's assault on the man was haulted prematurely. Avolon's bullets were indeed, startling. Mercery dove to his left, Avolon's right. Cypress went the opposite way. They both found cover behind speeders, the streets being crowded. The owners of said vehicles stayed inside the buildings, not wanting to be killed.

Mercery undid his backpack and put it next to him. He pulled out two uzis. He popped his arms and head over the hood and unleashed hell. The bullets streamed past Avolon and the girl next to him, the bumper protected them well.

"Mer--Mr. Black!"

Cypress was coming back from a few rapid fires from his only handgun.

"Kind of a bad time, Mr. White!!!" Mercery yelled back as he ducked back behind the speeder.

"Do you want me to throw my #*!$ing crowbar at him!"

Mercery chuckled slightly, even though he tried to restrain himself. He put the safety on his uzis and tossed them across the street. Cypress caught them, barely.

Mercery now had pulled out two double barrelled shotguns. He rose up and craddled each under his arm. He fired each one in succession. After four shots he ducked back down. The shots had ripped through the glass of the back window, blown out a tire, and blew off a chunk of the bumper. With the tire blown out the back right end of the car collapsed to that side.

"Wah-whoooo!!!!!!!!" Mercery rised up again, firing the shotguns over and over, totaling the vehicle before ducking back down.

OOC - Crap. I was writing my post when you posted your's, S'Il. But, since I have a gun bag, I could have pulled by guns out and shot you down as you approached. Do you want to edit your post, or should I edit mine?

ooc: an E-web is a repeating blaster, kinda like an uzi, only it's a little bigger than an m-60. On ROTJ, the snowtroopers had one set up and were firing it at the MF. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/image/emoticons_classic/smile.gif ALT=":)">

Kyry considered his proposal, not moving her new toy an inch regardless of the fact that he had two blasters aimed at his gut. She'd made her decision even before he'd pointed his guns at her, but took her time assessing him. He was older, but in shape, and she was willing to bet he'd been in as many if not more fire fights than she had; something one wouldn't want to think about. Shaking her head with a smile, she stared at ihm, her brown eyes shining and lowered the weapon. "What are you proposing."

Tevit Ramadon
Jan 5th, 2002, 12:11:10 AM
OOC- I said knock him around a bit, not beat the living tar out of him. That was a bit harsh, wasn't it, Cypress?

Tevit didn't even know the beatings with the crowbar had stopped. All he knew was that he hurt, and that he couldn't hardly see, or breathe. Wheezing and grunting, his attempts to get up only resulted in more pain and a few inches of movement. J'ktal had never beaten him that hard.
He tasted blood in his mouth and it interfered with his breathing. "I should have just stayed on the Dunestar" he thought to himself before passing into a hazt state between wakefulness and unconsciousness and hovering there, his body's nervous systems goign haywire with pain signals.

The blast from the supression rounds knocked Anauri to the ground, and the wind out of him. He didn't care who was the good guy and who was the bad, he just knew two things. His best friend had just suffered a harsh beating, and he had just been shot. The brown mongoose decided to take the second realization to action first. Picking himself up off the ground, he pulled the two blasters from his belt and placed one against Avolon's temple. "But you just shot me, and where I'm from, that's reason enough to kill you." He wheezed, his breath not fully back. "And don't go thinkin' you're faster than my finger, it can pull faster than you can move. Drop the guns on the ground, pal, this thing ain't got a stun setting."

OOC-Crud, things are moving faster than I can post, I'll fix some of the problems in my last post.

As Kyry lowered her weapon, Anauri felt he should do the same, but he kept one leveled at the man's chest, just in case as he stepped back. Taking a quick glance over at Tevit lying on the pavement, curled up in a ball, Anauri's eyes shifted from pink to red in fierce anger. "Kyry, he's yours. I'm going to see after Tev."

Avolon Bisel
Jan 5th, 2002, 12:27:15 AM
Avolon lowered his guns. He dropped them to the ground.

"Nice to meet you," Avolon smiled. "This planet is protected by the New Republic Special Forces. I'm the Chief of Security at Master Yoghurt's Bar and Grill."

Avolon smiled. He didn't care if they shot him, he'd been shot before and lived.

"It's my job to persue criminals. I overheard your friend speaking about stealing a diamond, a diamond she had. So it was in my job discription that I apprehend her by whatever means nessecary."

Avolon sighed. It was comical really. He was speaking calmly while the Oracles were shooting at them. None of the bullets even grazed the three.

"I knew you had guns. See, we have detectors at the bar, they check that sort of thing when you walk in, and I saw it on a monitor. I was willing to let it slide, it seemed to be your first time in the bar. But when I saw you again, with the woman I was persuing, I decided to peg you. It was out of haste, and I had a job to do. Which was to get that diamond."

Avolon looked at the man and the woman.

"I could have killed you, pal, but I didn't. If you kill me, or even harm me, then you're already dead. See, like I said, this place is swarming with NRSF soldiers. So, if you kill me, you'll be shot. Simple. We look out for each other. You wouldn't make it off this planet alive, there would be a massive lock down."

Avolon was getting annoyed at the bullets.

"Now, I suggest you help me," Avolon saw the women he had knocked out on a roof. "Before your friend gets killed by those two knuckleheads."

OOC - I'm not editing my post. Don't feel like it. Just ignore the problems, such as when I refer to you, man.

OOC-Ignore my little fixed-in-haste post.

It was during Avolon's speech that Anauri realized how futile any attempt to help Tevit would be. The boy was just lying there in the middle of the street. If he were to run out and help him, he would most likely get shot in the process. Stamping his footpaw, Anauri pulled the gun away from Avolon's head and scowled, "Okay, so now what? And if you pull a gun on me again, I WILL kill you, guards or not."

In the back of his mind, Anauri prayed that Tevit was still alive, and that he wouldn't move lest the Oracles shoot him to death when he did.

Kyry
Jan 5th, 2002, 12:40:16 AM
Kyry saw s'Il as well, and chuckled. "Dude, she's pissed; and she's been dead before. If you get a chance, ask her about that scar she's got running down the middle her chest," Kyry mimiced where the scar was, running a finger down from her neck to her belly button, "nasty story."
She smiled at Bisel. He seemed like a charming enough guy, and she was starting to like his attitude.
Bringing the E-web up, she aimed at where the Oracles were fighring from and pulled the trigger. The gun barked sending a hail of bullets at them.

ooc: s'Il had to go; she's got a date, heh. I'm her rl sister, so when she gets back, give her crap, hehe <img src=http://www.thegjo.com/forum/smileys/biglaugh.gif ALT=":D">

"I emphatize with you, pal."

Avolon hated being aimed at himself. He had just now noticed the man in the street, laying motionless.

"Let's get those bastards for him, alright?"

Avolon smiled as he picked up his guns again. He slung the rifle over his shoulder, using the strap that was fastened on it He ran from car to car, ducking bullets, until he was two cars away from Cypress.

"Hey, prick!"

Avolon launched a grenade into the air, aiming perfectly. He exceled at the Navel Academy in the weapon. The grenade slowly spiraled down on Cypress. If Cypress ducked into the street, his new allies would kill him. If he ducked the other way, against the wall, Avolon would kill him.

OOC - You mean like, "oooooh, how was your date?" hehehe.

Probably the most pathetically armed of the bunch, Anauri followed Avolon, not knowing what else to do. When a smattering of bullets hit the car they were behind ended, the brown mongoose wheeled around and let loose a volley of his own with his blasters, though having limited success, and jamming one of his guns.

Spinning back in he pounded his wrist on the lever that stuck until it sprung free, allowing the weapon to fire again. "I hate old model firearms..." He muttered under his breath.

Taking another peek over the hood of the car, then ducking quickly down as a flight of shots whizzed overhead, he looked to the security officer next to him and asked, "So, what's the plan now, slick?"

Syrius Cline
Jan 5th, 2002, 01:35:57 AM
Syrius Cline grabbed Blake Hawke by the arm. He span her across the room. Her stumbling spiral was stopped short as she slammed into a blue skinned man. He had four arms, was huge, and ran the door. He had just now started his shift.

"Hello, dear," the behemoth said sincerely. He hadn't a clue what was occuring.

"Apprehend her, gent, if you would. I need to catch the other hoodlums."

The man smiled, he was a gentle giant after all. He wrapped his two lower arms around her waist as he was told. The man figured she was some kind of criminal, but he was still a gentleman to all women.

"Woud you like something to drink, sweetheart?" The man asked, staring down at the women.

Syrius wasn't able to chit chat as he ran out the bar.<hr>He finally made it to the end of the alley. He smiled as he saw SIlancy's figure ontop of the roofs ahead. The detective climbed up the ladder she used. He tailed her, yelling as he did.

"I will open fire if you move an inch, love!!!" Syrius didn't have a gun, but he did have a finger. It was inside his jacket pretending to be a weapon.

"No, thank-you. I'd like to keep my wits about me. Ive got a lot of planning to do." Blake said, with a smile. s'Il was in trouble. Whether she got out or not, Blake had some people to pay back. She didn't take lightly to the harming of partners.

s'Il heard Syrius' yell and stopped. Turning to look at him, she pointed a blaster at him, her metallic eyes radiating pure rage. The only thing stopping her from pulling the trigger was the fact that he was an officer of the law, and she made it a point not to kill cops.
Lowering her arm, she glared at him, still grasping her blasters though keeping them pointed at the ground. "What the bloody #%@$ do you want?" She was in a hurry; Tevit was on the ground below most likely passed out, and she felt it was her responsibility to get him out of here. As for the stone, she'd been hunting for it for seven years; a couple more days wouldn't hurt, just so long as she got the boy in a bacta tank.
And then there was Blake; she'd have to be busted out from whatever jail she might be sent to. s'Il looked at it as personal duty to help out her partner, and anyone else she worked with, for that matter.

Cypress Oracle
Jan 5th, 2002, 07:36:12 PM
The shell fell from the sky. Cypress cursed himself mentally. Not much time to react.. He decided to make a run for it, across the street. Getting shot was highly probable, but only minor in comparison to having every square inch of mass in his body pulled apart by the force of the inevitable explosion. The one gun would have to be his only cover. Using the uzis was out of the question. They were running on fumes, the bullet count low after Mercery's onslaught. For being in mid duck walk Cypress's stride was very quick and impressive. He stayed low. Less chance of being hit, smaller target. Round after round exploded from the barrel of his .44. Cypress loved .44s. Something about the movement of the chamber, after every shot fired. It added more drama.

Avolon and Tevit moved for cover, while at the same time continuing their assault. Cypress was almost to the other side of the street, close to the cover of a parked speeder. It was Kyry's shot that got him. The blast shredded his right knee. Ligaments tore. Tendons released their hold of muscle tissue. The weight of Cypress's body fell on his left leg. He collapsed to the ground. The speeder, twelve feet away. Shots continued to ring out. Mercery stood, spraying ammunition, in order to provide cover. Cypress struggled, pulling his body.. rounds firing. Six feet... movement of the .44's chamber... 3 feet, a yard in essence.. The shell came down, tearing apart the speeder from across the street. A brilliant flash of light.. The explosion cleared Cypress... He lurched himself behind the parked speeder, pressed his back against it. Mercery ducked down as soon as the explosion erupted, a speeder behind Cypress.

Mercery: "You okay?"

Cypress looked at his wound. He was bleeding profusely.

Cypress: "I'm fine. A little sore.. like a catholic school girl's first time."

Even in moments of imminent danger Cypress's head was in the gutter. He lied about the pain. His knee, his entire leg was killing him. He wouldn't let on, though.

"Merc, I think I got a few rounds left, but..."

Cypress winced in pain.

"We need to take that *&%!ing bartender out. So... I suggest that you dig deep in your little bag of toys, and we throw some real @#%$ at them."

Syrius Cline
Jan 5th, 2002, 07:59:51 PM
"I want to arrest you, love," Syrius said directly. "It's what I do."

Syrius slowly took the finger out of the jacket.

"I'm sorry, I lied. I don't have a gun. I hate the little buggers."

Cline sat on the side of the building. He lit a cigarette and placed it in his mouth. He offered them to her.

"Let's talk for a minute. That good ol' boy from the pub can handle the firefight. We need to speak about more important matters."

Syrius smiled looking down on the carnage.

"Now see, this is how I view it. Tell me if I'm right," Syrius took the cigarette out of his mouth. "You stole a diamond, I'm not sure how or when."

Syrius stood up now, placing the cigarette back in his mouth.

"You thought it'd be a smashing good plan to bring it here. Figured perhaps that you, out of all people, could smuggle a rock in and out of here. Of course, you were wrong. It took only that cowboy to foil your little masterplan. This is all your fault. All your doing."

He could see she was eyeing the fight intently.

"Do not do that. Do not do what I know you're planning," Syrius smiled as she turned to him. "You're planning on jumping down there and killing the lot of them. Bad plan, love. It's why I hate guns, someone always dies because of it. It might be you, or them. But why risk it?"

Syrius smiled, puffing away on the cigarette as he leaned against a rooftop billboard.

"I have a plan that would sweep you off your toes, love. Listen near."

Syrius made the motion with his hands of a steering wheel.

"We get a bloody flying thing. It needs to be able to fly halfway along the buildings. We then tie a bungee like cable to it. The cable will be wrapped around either you or me. The other person flies. When we're over that poor bloke in the center, the one close to death, the bungee wearing mate leaps out. Grabs the boy, springs back up. Then we fly out of the way," Syrius smiled.

He inched closer to the woman.

"You are wanting to save that bloke, right? I can see it in your eyes, shared pain."

s'Il declined his offer of the cigarette. "I don't smoke," she muttered, holstering her blasters. Casting a last glance at Tevit, she looked up at Cline. She saw him inch closer, and stepped back accordingly. Crossing her arms, she spoke. "This is most definately not my fault. If you'd minded your own business, than I'd have been on my way and this wouldn't have snowballed like it did."
Shifting her weight, she went on. "However, I like your plan, but I've got a better idea." She pulled a small device from her back pocket. "How about I call my ship with this handy little beckon-call unit," she fingered a button, setting a small light blinking, "and set it down in the middle of the street."

Inside the cockpit of the Baiken, the dashboard blinked to life, and the start-up sequence began. The small craft, a Kuat Drive Yards DF-1 transport, lifted gracefully off the landing pad and headed toward the beckon unit.

Replacing the unit in her pocket, she smiled. "If you help me get the kid out of there and back to the Snatch, I have an offer that you might like." She limped to the edge of the roof and looked out over the firefight. Turning her head to look back at Cline, her metal eyes winced slightly. "That boy didn't deserve the beating he got, and right now, I'm not concerned with that damn stone." She snorted at the look he gave her. "Please. I may be what you've termed a criminal, but I do have my ethics. I need to get him to a bacta tank. Once he's in the tank, I'll tell you everything you want to know about the diamond." The sound of low level repulsors were becoming more audible. "Will you help me?"

Syrius Cline

Syrius shaked his head, laughing. He put out the cigarette under his boot.

"Okay."

Syrius smiled.

"But we don't set it down, love. See that yankee?"

Syrius pointed toward Avolon.

"I know his kind, and I know him personally somewhat. That weapon he has is firing grenades, bullets, and all sorts of rubbish. If you set that thing down, it'll block his view or distract him, and the people that stole the diamond from you will get away. Not a good thing for either one of us."

Cline rubbed his chin. He paused. Moments later his eyes fired up. He had a good heart, and it took over his best judgement often.

"Screw it. You take your ship and meet me a block away."

Syrius smiled sincerely.

"Trust me. And don't you dare tell me to not do this. I've been dodging bullets my whole life, and I don't need help. You park that ship a fair distance away, and I"ll meet you."

Cline jumped off the roof, landing on a speeder. His knees cracked under him as he rolled down onto the hood.

"Go!!!"

Syrius jumped off the hood. He was as agile as they came. The driverside door opened. Syrius turned around and faced the man who owned it. He was watching from inside. Syrius mouthed an apology before jumping in.

After a few moments the car was effectively hotwired. He started the engine, ready to go to work. He could only hope the girl was smart enough to do as he said.

Mercery Oracle
Jan 6th, 2002, 01:54:28 AM
Mercery was absolutely torn. He couldn't get to his brother and he was under heavy fire.

"I'm going to kill them Cypress. I'm going to do it," Mercery said, his voice cold and unfaltering.

Mercery raised up. He blew a shotgun blast at Avolon and his partner, then another. He then dropped a shotgun and bent down to his bag. He pulled out a grenade. After pulling the pin he rose back up. He threw the grenade at the speeder behind Avolon, the speeder in the front of him on flames from the shell blast. The grenade was close to landing when Mercery let off a string of shotgun rounds straight at where the two would have to run to avoid the grenade. Of course, they could duck back towards the wall, but Mercery could only pick one likely spot for them to retreat to, out into the open.

At this point Mercery wasn't caring if he died. For he stood mostly in the open. He just wanted revenge.

s'Il watched as Cline jumped from the roof, and began running before he hit the speeder. Her pace was diminished by the limp, but she ignored the pain in her knee and clambored down a ladder to the ground.
*he doesn't carry guns?* she thought quizzically, then shrugged as she rounded a corner and headed up a side street. Judging she'd gone a far enough distance, she stopped and pulled out the beckon unit once more. Directing the Baiken to her position, she set it down softly.
The hatch opened, and she climbed inside. It closed once more with an audible hiss, and she made her way to the bridge, sitting down heavily; her knee was about to give out on her.
As she waited for Cline, she gathered her thoughts. The fact that he was willing to help her save Tevit puzzled her; she'd expected him to laugh in her face, tell her to drop dead, then try to arrest her. *There's something more to this guy....*
She shook her head, disregarding the thought and bringing her mind back to the rest of her plan. If it worked, than it would give Cline the Oracles and the stone they possessed, and give her retribution for Tevit's beating. *Cypress likes to fight?* she thought, setting her teeth involuntarily, *than fine. I'll fight him in the ring.* There was also one more thing she'd want, but it was all dependant upon Cline's willingness to cooperate. Avalon would have to come as well, he'd be a key player, and she hoped she'd be able to persuade him.
She kept her hands hovering over the throttles, waiting for Cline to arrive.

Kyry watched as the Baiken soared overhead and disappeared behind some buildings a good distance away.
*I hope you've got a plan,s'Il,* she thought, gritting her teeth and laying down cover fire for Avalon and Anauri.
She saw Mercery's grenade as it arched up into the, and standing, continued to spew bullets as she retreated behind another speeder that had skidded to a halt. "Criminy," Kyry muttered, finding herself staring at a terrified woman through the driver's side window.
She yanked the door open and dragging the woman out from behind the steering wheel, pulled her to the side of the street. Kyry shoved her into the nearest shop before returning to the speeder and opening fire once more.

Oh, that's great. Now the punks were pulling out his own tricks. Avolon had a patten on grenades, it seemed. He didn't like his medicine being fed to him.

"Move!!"

Avolon grabbed the other man's collar and ran backwards. The grenade hit and Avolon's cheeks flew back. The air rushed around him, along with gasoline fuel. But he had succeded in shielding his new ally's body.

Turning, Avolon was pissed. He fired three consecutive grenades, all at Mercery. He'd either kill the ant or smush him into surrender.

The fight was unlike most Anauri had been in, and he tried to brace himself for the explosion. Thankfully, Avolon had pushed him forward, out of real harm's way. "Thanks, pallie." He spoke while getting up, peering around their cover to see where their enemies were still.
Right up until he heard the roar of the Baiken from above, and looked up to see the ship he had become familiar with by installing weapons on, and helping to defuse a bomb in it. By its positioning, he quickly figured out what was going on; s'Il was trying to get Tevit. And he had absolutely no problems with her doing that.
But she wasn't coming right away, she was apparently waiting for something. Gritting his teeth, Anauri shoved new power cells into his blasters and primed them for fire. Looking back to Avolon firing grenades, and then at their surroundings, he spotted a car door that had become dented by gunfire, but the metal hadn't been pierced. Detroit Steel, he had called metal that resilient once. "Cover me, I'm going after Tevit!" He shouted to Avolon over the din of gunfire. Seeign the look on his face, the mongoose clarified, "The boy in the street! I'm going to get him."

Ducking out towards the car door, the brown mongoose holstered one blaster and picked up the door, crouching and holding it like a shield and running out to where Tevit lay, propping the door in front of him and huddling behind it himself as well.

Tevit didn't look good, he was bloodied and hardly breathing. Hardly the condition a nineteen-year-old boy should be in, especially for being hired on as a mechanic instead of an escort guard. Checking him for neck injuries or possible spine breaks, Anauri holstered his second blaster and looped and arm around his young friend. "You're gonna be okay, little buddy, you're gonna be okay. Your cousin'll kill me if you're not..." He trailed off, beginning to pull Tevit along, and still holding the door as a shield, though he felt a few bullets strike it.
A sudden sharp cry of pain from Tevit stopped Anauri before he could get him to a truly safe area. He had managed to drag him back on the street a decent distance, but still not quite out of harm's way. Three more bullets struck the door, and one grazed Anauri's ear, sticking up slightly above the edge. He also felt another fly through the shaggy fur on his tail. "Aw, Tev, why do you always get me into trouble?" He whispered while propping the door up against a chunk of concrete. "You hold on and don't die on me, I'll be back."

Drawing his blasters, the brown Nehantite popped up and delivered a volley from both barrels to keep the Oracles down as he dashed back across the street to conveign with Avolon once more. "Pal, sorry, don't know your name, call me Re, those grenades ain't working, time for a new plan. Got any ideas?"

s'Il slammed the bulkhead with a clenched fist, her eyes bordering on insanity. *Where the hell is he?!*

OOC- Hello? Did everybody just abandon this line? I've got a guy half-dead in the middle of the street, I'd like a little bit of closure, here.
