A chapter ends

[Zeke Talen]

Zeke crossed his arms over his chest. He stared coldly at the woman in front of him. They hadn't spoken yet, only sat in an uncomfortabe silence. He shifted in his seat and sighed.

"Why are you here?"

[Helen Anderson]

"I'm your mother. I have to have a reason to come and see you?" she answered softly. Helen was uncomfortable. Uncomfortable that she felt uncomfortable with her son. Things had fallen apart. She was trying to salvage what she could.

[Zeke Talen]

Zeke ignored her reply. "Look Helen...I think you should go. I think it would better if you left."

[Helen Anderson]

"I'm not leaving. Not until I find out how you're doing. Like it or not, I am your mother. At the very least you owe me an explanation as to why you left without telling us. Twice. Now we can sit here trading smart alec comments and slip back into the old routine or we can start over. It's your choice. I can play either way. I missed you....hard concept to grasp, I know...so what's it gonna be?" Helen sat back and waited.

OOC: I can't log into the Malastaire board for some odd reason so we can either postpone the other RP or I'll just make up a me-ish excuse for not being there<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/image/emoticons_classic/smile.gif ALT=":)">

He considered leaving. She wouldn't follow him. Instead he stayed silent, staring at her coldly. Finally he spoke.

"I left because I wanted to. Jake told me where he was, I was getting older...I figured it was about time to leave. Got a bit sidetracked but I made it here. The end. Is that all?"

[Helen Anderson]

OOC: a you-ish excuse IC or OOC? Don't worry if you can't log on....James went to Cali for spring break so it'll be postponed for a bit longer

IC:

"No, that's not all. You told me a lot of nothing. I want to know how you've been. Please...talk to me." Helen's voice was sad, pleading.

[Zeke Talen]

OOC: Why would I make an OOC excuse? Still can't get on the board so just say that I'm there in spirit or something equally as touching

IC:

"I'm fine. Just leave." Zeke was impatient now, not to mention uncomfortable. He shifted his gaze to the other side of the room and crossed his arms over his chest. After a few moments he looked back. Helen was still there.

"All right. It was nice seeing you. I'm leaving." he got up and headed towards the door quickly, knowing that she was always one to make a scene--not unlike himself.
