The Huntress Approacheth

[Daanarri Raurrssatta]

Daanarri stalked the mouse across the floor of the bar, crawling between stools as the mouse threaded its nervous way from the table it had fallen off of. Sajoi mice were very delicious, but she'd never caught one before.

At home she hadn't been allowed to. "Not untjil jyou'rrre olderrr, Daanji," her mother always said. It wasn't like a year made that much of a difference. But no, at seven she was too young, while at eight it was deemed well and proper to learn how to hunt.

Males learned almost as soon as they were born. Well, nearly. Daanarri darted between some tall forrrda's legs and very nearly caught the mouse, but it slipped away at the last second. She growled frustratedly, and screamed, "Cjirrrrr!"

Standing up amidst the people in the bar, she shouted for her elder brother again.

Cirr winced at the shrill little chirp that he instantly recognized. Ears lowering in tired frustration, he followed her sound.

Comjing, Daanji.

He arrived to find her in the midst of a table of very shocked and perturbed hyuu-manns and rodians. He fluttered his ears, smiling at them politely, before turning his attention to his headstrong younger sibling.

Daanji, be carrreful arrround herrre. Forrda don't ljike to plajy.

[Daanarri Raurrssatta]

Daani grabbed his hand, ignoring his calm words, and dragged him to where she had last seen the sajoi. "Cjirrrrrr, jI almossst had jit!" She pointed excitedly with her other arm at a tiny crack in the wall opposite. It ran down the wall, and where it intersected with the floor there was a small, uneven hole.

"jIt went jin therrre! Can jyou get jit forrr me?" She bent down, tail in the air, peering into the tiny opening. "jI can sssmell jit jin herrre!" Her voice was muffled by the wall, and she pulled away, looking back at the towering Cizerack with a grin, revealing two missing front teeth. "C'mon!"

No...we ssshouldn't. Not jin herrre.

Cirr's eyes looked about, as he smiled.

Sssaa gave me sssome monejy. jI can bujy jyou a sssnack, how about that?

[Daanarri Raurrssatta]

She didn't say anything for a moment, she'd almost gotten her hand inside the crack. And then...it was in. Daani gleefully scrabbled around inside the wall, brushing something soft that squeaked.

"jI got jit!" Her hand closed around the sajoi, and she started to pull her hand back out.

And then found that she was stuck. Daani frowned, her ears twitching, and then she yanked hard again, only succeeding in hurting the back of her hand.

Cirr's eyes widened as he saw the spectacle. His rambunctious little sister had done it anyways, and was now stuck. He made a fretting face, squatting down on his haunches to get a better view of the predicament.

Hold ssstjill!

He mewled at Daani, nudging her in the ribs as he looked at the hole. Taking a few precautionary glances around, to avoid angry bar owners, Cirr gently wedged two fingers into the hole, flush against Daani's wrist. Pressing his thumb against the wall, Cirr used his strength to break away a small chunk of drywall, giving the little girl's hand ample room to maneuver. Making a nervous face, he pocketed the broken drywall, standing up quickly and diverting his attention from the crime scene.

The little Cizerack female withdrew her hand, and almost dropped the squirming mouse. She squeaked, and then cupped it in both hands, letting Cirr lead her away from the wall. The white sajoi quivered, its little nose twitching.

Grasping the tail with one hand, she dangled it up above her head and slowly lowered it towards her mouth, feeling the tiny forefeet on her lips. It was a balancing act while she walked through the bar, not watching where she was going and relying on her brother to guide her.

She licked the creature once, and then used her side teeth to bite it in half. "Cjirrrrr, jyou get half!" She pulled on his sleeve, trying to get his attention again.

Cirr smiled a goofy smile, shaking his head as he ruffled the little cubling's hair

No, that'sss okajy, Daanji. jYou caught jit, jitsss jyourrrsss.

[Daanarri Raurrssatta]

She wrinkled up her face in sorrow that he refused her gift. "But jI was catchjing jit forrr jyou!" No matter she'd already eaten half of it. Daani held it out, looking utterly heartbroken he wasn't going to eat the tail half of the sajoi.

[Cirrsseeto Raurrssatta]

Cirr looked down at her big, expectant blue eyes, as she dangled the spoils of her victory up to him. He smiled, and shrugged.

Okajy...jif jyou want me to...

Cirr took the half-eaten sajoi from Daani, and gulped it down, making a big show to her of how good it was, so she would be happy.

Oh...verrrjy good! Thank jyou!

[Daanarri Raurrssatta]

Daani clapped her hands with pleasure. "jI knew jyou'd ljike jit!" She turned a little circle between two tables, almost hitting someone eating soup with her tail. "Letsss get anotherrr one!" Her eyes sparkled with excitement as she made to dart back to the hole in the wall.

Cirr was quicker this time, scooping her up at the waist and hefting her up.

jI thjink jyou ssscarrred them all awajy, Daanji. But we can get sssomethjing good at the barrr, okajy?

He looked at her expectantly, hoping she agreed.

She wriggled in his grasp, turning around so she was belly up and could look at him. "Okaaajy." Daani giggled as he walked to the bar, and twitched her tail, knocking someone's hat off. The green haired forrrda mumbled something her mother never let her say, and bent over to retreive the lost article.

Daani's eyes were wide with anticipation as she was deposited on a bar stool, and she tried to look over the other side of the bar. "Wherrre jisss the forrrda, Cirr?"

[Lady Vader]

*LV looked over to find a petit Cizerack plopped onto the barstool next to her by Cirr. Frowning, she looked from large male to tiny female, and saw a resemblance. Family perhaps?*

*She swiveled on her seat to look at the young girl.*

Is this your first time to the bar, young lady?

It was a funny question, and Cirr chuckled a little, glancing around the whole bar.

Well, Forrda's everrrjywherrre, Daanji...but onljy sssome kjind of forrda jisss okajy to eat herrre.

He looked down to her.

What do jyou want?

[Daanarri Raurrssatta]

Daani threw her hands out expansively. "Everrrjythjing!" One of her hands hit something, and she jerked back, nearly falling off the stool.

After recovering, she turned to see a strange looking female.. not Cizerack, but not forrrda. Her ears drooped at the question, but she soon perked up. "jYess, jI've neverrr been on a barrr beforrre. Cjirrrrrr jisss teachjing me what jisss good to eat herrre." She smiled, the expression ruined by the missing teeth.

Cirrsseeto pointed at a sign on the wall, that had pictures of various creatures on it. The Bar & Grill had long-since gotten used to the unenviable job of catering to the numerous Cizerack who often travelled to these parts. The sign was a pictoral menu of sorts, and the creatures ranged from sajoi-sized, to things quite a bit bigger.

Daanji...look overrr therrre, and tell that Hjyuu-mann overrr therrre what jyou want.

Cirr smiled, but his patience was getting tugged at a little bit. Daani was energetic, but scatterbrained and indecisive. Just like he was, though Cirr would disagree with any who said so.

[Lady Vader]

*She looked up at Cirr momentarily, a feral smile creeping on her lips, before looking back at the young Cizerack.*

I'm sure Cirr is a very good teacher at that.

*She raised an eyebrow, making half a guess and using the Force for the other half.*

Is Cirr a relative of yours? Perhaps a brother?

[Daanarri Raurrssatta]

Daani's head wavered between Cirr and the female, and decided to answer the question first. "He'sss mjy brrrotherrr." She then turned and studied the pictures on the wall.

Her eyes got big, and she pointed at one of the lower items, a picture of a large fish. "jI want that!" The 'tender shrugged and placed the order. Daani beamed, then turned to Cirr, and whispered, "What jisss that?"

*LV nodded her head, and went back to her drink, smiling slightly at the young Cizerack's wide eyed expressions about everything. Ah, to be young again. She looked from the corner of her eye at Cirr as he explained about the fish his sister had just ordered. Chuckling, LV took a sip of her drink. The more felines, the merrier.*

Cirr's eyes widened at her selection. It was a quintessential case of the eyes being bigger than the stomach.

Well, jitsss...

Cirr didn't get a moment to finish, as the barkeep hefted a 2 and a half foot long Mon Calamarian Albacore onto the counter. The rotund fish was nearly as large as the hungry little girl.

...bjig.

Cirr just stared at the comical match-up...hoping Daani wasn't feeling ambitious.

[Daanarri Raurrssatta]

The young female's mouth made a small O as the 'tender plopped her meal in front of her. Tenetively, she reached out and poked it with one tiny claw. It didn't move.

She took ahold of the fin on the top of the fish, and tried to move it. It still didn't move. Daani squinched her eyes shut as she heaved, and the albacore lurched towards her, almost going onto the floor. She hastily put it down, and looked almost pleadingly at her brother. "Can jI get sssomethjing elssse? Ljike morrre sajoji?"

Cirr smiled, dragging the behemoth fish in front of him.

Sssurrre, that wjill be okajy.

Cirr ordered five sajoi, and for a little suprise, a small rabbit. He grinned goofily, his tail swishing up and messing her hair, as he chomped a Cirr-size bite out of the fish's side.

[Daanarri Raurrssatta]

Daani grinned as a high sided bowl was placed in front of her. Cirr moved the smelly fish in front of himself, and she sat on her knees to look into the bowl.

A rrrabbjit! She grasped it by the scruff of the neck, and pulled it out, shaking it slightly so the white sajoi would fall off. The rabbit wiggled; it was small, but it nearly got out of her hand. Daanarri held it closer, contemplating where to bite it. Perrrhapsss... Nope. As she drew closer it kicked out and hit her in the nose, making her eyes water.

Blinking, she grabbed its legs, and held it upside down. There was so much fur! Perplexed, she put its head in her mouth, but was tickled by the twitching nose, and had to let it out. The rabbit kicked again, and she lost her grip, dropping it into the bowl.

Disappointed, she looked in the bowl again, only to find that the rabbit had landed on its neck, breaking it. It twitched, and she munched a sajoi, watching the rabbit. When it was done twitching, and the sajoi were also gone, she picked it up again, tearing at it with her side teeth.

Daani couldn't wait until her front teeth grew back in and she could eat properly. She managed to make quite a furry, bloody mess, but tried to confine it to just the area in front of her.

Cirr contentedly chowed down on his fish meal, making quick work of the albacore. He glanced to Daani, wondering what she was doing here. Likely, she'd come to visit Taataani and Saarreeaa, as their families were still rather close. It was unusual for most brothers and sisters in Cizerack culture to stay close, as males were often spirited away from the family. However, the Raurrsatta and Meorrrei families were very close on Carshoulis, and it was that closeness that had landed Cirr in Saa's possession in the first place. Such things made for good relationships.

[Saarreeaa Meorrrei]

"Oh therrre jyou arrre, thank the Prrrjide." Saa sat on the other side of Daanarri, and smiled a little at the mess she was in. "jI've been lookjing forrr jyou. jYourrr motherrr would have mjy ssskjin on herrr wall jif anjythjing happened to jyou."

She's been searching their rooms up and down for the child, thankfully she hadn't gotten further than the bar and grill. And how am jI gojing to explajin to Sssanjisss about herrr bejing herrre? It was what one would call a 'special circumstance,' as Daani's mother was going on a...extended visit to an expensive spa, and needed someone to watch the child.

Taataani had volunteered, being close friends with the Raurssattaa matriarch, and somehow Saa had ended up with Daanarri. She still wasn't quite sure how that had happened. With a sigh, she ordered a drink.

[Daanarri Raurrssatta]

Daani slumped on her stool. Saa always made her stop whatever fun she was having with Cirr. "Hji Sssaa." She licked the last drips of ichor off her fingers and pushed the bowl back slightly, letting loose a burp that smelled like sajoi.

"Cjirrrrrr wasss watchjing me. He'd neverrr let anjythjing happen to me." She grinned a sudden, impish grin.

Cirr stuffed a fish fin in his mouth, gulping it down and following his younger sibling's lead with a burp as he turned on his barstool

Daanji hasss been good, Sssaa.

He smiled a fishy smile

[Saarreeaa Meorrrei]

Saa laughed a little at the twin gas factories beside her, and then remembered that Daani was 'society.' "Daanarrrrrrji, don't burrrp. What would jyourrr motherrr sssajy?" She reached over and tucked some stray hairs away from the girl's face.

[Daanarri Raurrssatta]

She hated it when people mussed her hair. Daani rubbed her hands in her hair, getting it back to the way she liked it. "Motherrr jisssn't herrre. jI can be whateverrr jI want! jI'm Prrrjincessssss Jajaaneeji Feessssssarrrrrro, and jI want to burrrp!"

Daani indicated her brother. "He jisss mjy prrrotectorrr and lojyal bodjyguarrrd. And jif jI sssay ssso, he'll eat jyou!" Her eyes sparkled with glee.

Cirr's eyes widened a little, but he stood in his place, laughing nervously

[Saarreeaa Meorrrei]

Saa looked at Cirr, and then back to Daani. "jYou do rrrealjize that the rrreal prrrjincesssss wjill cut off jyourrr earrrsss forrr sssajyjing herrr name, don't jyou?" She sipped her drink, hiding a smile with the glass.

Cirr frowned at the very thought...

[Daanarri Raurrssatta]

Daani looked at Saa suspiciously. "Ssshe wjill not. ...wjill ssshe?" The young female looked from Saa to Cirr and saw her brother looking very grim. Her mouth dropped open, "But ssshe can't hearrr me!"

Saa looked back at her. "The K.A.R. hearrr everrrjythjing, Daanji." She put a finger in front of her lips and widened her eyes. Daani's ears pricked up, and she looked wildly around, hoping to catch a spy in the act of turning her in.

When there was nothing, she bit her lip and scowled. "jI knew jyou werrre jokjing." Daani slid her finger around the inside of her bowl, getting the last traces of food from within.

[Cirrsseeto Raurrssatta]

Cirr laughed out loud, relieved that it was a joke.

[Saarreeaa Meorrrei]

Saa looked at her chrono. "Tjime forrr jyou to be gettjing back to jyourrr ssstudjiesss, Daanarrrrrrji." She lifted the little girl down off the stool and set her on the ground, and propelled her towards the door.

Daani scowled, but allowed herself to be dragged out of the Bar and Grill and back to their rooms. She waved to Cirr just before Saa pulled her though the door. "Bjye!"

[Seerrasseei Tsseerra]

Seer watched quietly from nearby as Kit sat beside her, she was simply waiting for Saa to leave. She was there as she usually was but still she avoided Saa when she could. Noticing that Saa had finally left, she nudged her mate and he got up to follow as they then went up the bar, she was hungry and it had been awhile since she had eaten Sajoi. Ordering a bowlful of them plus a few other items, she then tapped her claws on the bar top as she waited
