View Full Version : General B&G posting guidelines

This is a work in progress, bear with me.

1) OOC should go into the Arcan IV Trading Post. Sole execption is the Picture Request thread, which is a feature and has grown here with the input of many people over a year

2) Generally, no fighting. There are execptions and the Jedi or the NRSF reserve the right of reply if a fight is started. Normally, fights should be in the SWForums forums. There are heavily armed guards and the city the B&G is in is heavily patrolled and is home to a very major military base now. NPC'ing of the NRSF is restricted to NRSF members or Jedi.

3) Cant really think of anything else, but Jedi and NRSF are invivted to make suggestions.

(Yes, I know this account is no longer Jedi, but one of my other ones is. I cant switch for some damn EXFrell reason :/ )

As B&G Bum and operator of 2 Jedi accounts, I formally request the movement of the picture request thread to the Arcan IV forum

Not now dude... wait a week or so when I've cooled off.

I'm guessing that he came in after the thread was deleted. So he doesn't know about the hole fiasco.

I have a question about fighting. Is it allowable if it goes along with the RP and isn't objected by either party? In my thread "Shelter from the Storm" I might use extreme force on a certain Sith if provoked, and I'm actually hopinh I have to. It'd show my character's personality change, and I'm sure Vega wouldn't mind. Actually, it'd be good if a NRSF member jumped in and tackled me or something if I do it. It's a long story but it'd progress my character if he does an act of violence on a Sith... it's hard to explain.

I know my character is allowed, and it's best that he's punished. But would I be punished OOC?

No. My thought is that a fight needs to be prearrranged with someone here and that a Admin knows that there is a fight to happen. That way, you dont get say Tohmahawk coming in and getting a touch overexited :)

Hmmm..... and what about stories? Where to they go?

And er, fighting IS allowed in the Trading Post, that is not just for OOC.

Actually, I'd like for him to make an appearance and give Sage a good thrashing.

Is there a place we can talk about this? Maybe the administration forum?

This is extremely important to my character development. I'm sure Vega or any other Sith who would provoke me would be okay with it. It wouldn't even draw blood... I really need to speak to you about this. It's extremely crucial to his character development. Seriously.

Addition...

NO WEAPONS ALLOWED. There is very little chance of sneaking one through and there is a Shmabler at the door who rips arms off if there is any argument.

Only Exceptions are NRSF members and Jedi Knights and above. We reserve the right of reply and / or deletion

OOC - Right of Reply/Deletion? That's a good enough reason for me to stay away from here. =>;<=

Darth Turbogeek
Jan 9th, 2002, 09:00:57 PM
Do you honestly think that the Jedi are going to put up with someone bearing a weapon or starting a fight in here?

Of course not. Thence, the Jedi or NRSF have the right of reply or deletion if it's way over the top. If you want to have a fight and cause mayhem to the nth degree, The Trading post is a good place to go.

Sanis would have to be an exception in that though, as his shell gun is as much a priceless heirloom as it is a weapon, and he almost never lets it out of his sight.

Not that he's gonna go popping people in Yogs with it. At up to 25,000 credits a shell, its just not something you do. But he's not gonna cough that up in the weapon drop box at the front door.

Maybe if it had no ammunition we would let it slide. That would be interesting to RP.

Yeah he could check his bandolier at the door. Shells can be bought in various places, but nobody's ever found another working shell gun

Okay, this is going to sound weird, but it has to be asked.

What if someone had a magical talking sword? The sword was an independant entity, leaving it by it's lonesome would be like abandoning someone. The entity is contained in the hilt. Could this person undo the hilt from the blade and take the hilt inside but leave the blade?

This is an actual question. It sounds funny but it's serious.

What, like a Mordecainen Sword?

Lady DeVille
Mar 18th, 2002, 05:56:57 AM
Can you undo a sword from its hilt? I thought they were made inseperable. I mean, if they weren't, one good hit and your sword would fly off the handle. O_o

Guri HRD

depends on the sword. Full-tang swords (where the metal used for the blade extends fully into the hilt) can't do that.

Fork or partial tang swords will, given enough pressure.

Magical talking sword?

How could that possibly exist?

Sage Hazzard
Mar 18th, 2002, 11:59:03 AM
Magic. :)

Imagine an ancient Dark Jedi trapped in the sword as a punishment for his sins. The sword would be specially crafted by an unknown inventor to be seperated. And I was thinking of combining the metal with a special overlapping laser, making it able to be in contact with a lightsabre. But for now I just want it to talk. I don't feel like swordplay much anyways, so that can come later.

Has anyone here ever played Suikoden for the Playstation? Excellent roleplaying game. It had a sword in it that talked. It was really awesome. It had sort of a quippy, angry way or talking too. It didn't get along with it's master at all, he actually hated him. I kind of want that.

I've got a question. Jedi are allowed to carry weapons, but what about padewans? Because they're technically not Jedi yet, but are trying to become one. I don't know WHY they'd need one in the B&G, but my curiosity is just getting the better of me on this one.

Marcus QDunn

Knights and above can have weapons in the bar and grill? Someone told me it was Masters and NRSF! Okay, now I have sounded stupid in every post since I have been promoted! I always say, "And she checked her weapons at the door". Oh well.....I guess I know now!
