Lochabre Stonewing

Race : Gargoyle (For want of a better description)

Location : Even they are not sure. Locations dont mean anything with this race. They are a hyper rare life form, native to one planet, a super heavy and hot planet, close to a red giant. The gravity is about 5G, leading to the race to evole extreme density, to the point they seem more like stone. Oddly, they are also tall and fairly thin, which would work counter to the small and squat being needed to survive such a killing enviroment. They do however tend to rest hunched, walk crouched and rarely extend to full size.

Characteristics : Between 8 - 10 feet, as I mentioned they may as well be stone in consistency. Acid for blood, they also have large wings that do flod up to a surprisingly small size. They all have claws and sharp teeth. Burning red eyes and a relativly featureless face, except for their mouthful of teeth. Grey in colour, horns on head. They do not have any sexes. Even they are not sure where new Gargoyles come from. Due to heavy density composition, they are about 1000kgs. No, they dont sneak easily, nor do they stop well. On their own planet, they dont really move fast at all. but that's not really much of a problem.

Other ; They prefer night, thou that will not stop them moving in the day. They love travelling and will often stow away on the huge star ships and hitch a lift to somewhere new. Very good at hiding and mostily indetectible by normal means. A Jedi would find a mind that appears to be pure chaos, but that is simply because they are unlike anything else mentally. If one decided to try to understand that mind, they would find a Gargoyle surprisingly open to mind tricks. It is only their very different though process that saves them from a mind trick. They are not Force sensitive and never have been. Very fast in normal gravity and able to fly, but slowly. Their skin is tough enough to make a blaster fairly useless, a lightsabre would be slowed enough for a Gargoyle to reduce the injury by moving. They dont suffer "pain" as we would know it. Rail Guns aren't really effective either. Unlike real stone, they are not brittle.

They attack via claws, teeth and bludgeon - their fists make highly effective and lethal clubs, given their weight. They also spit acid. Lochabre carries a sword, a symbol of honour, not actually a weapon, though it can use it very, very well. They use use size and weight in melee, they are not truly skillful. But then again, do they need to be?

Gargoyles eat anything dead, but prefer stone, which is dissolved by their acidic spit. They do kill, but only for a reason other than eating. They have a pathological hatred of "life-leeches" and go into a killing rage when they discover one. Otherwise, they are peaceful, curious creatures, disposed to good. They make fanatical friends. Not real intelligent ones though. They have perfect memories, which is the only reason they seem to know anything.

Lifespan : Unknown. Time has no meaning to a Gargoyle, which suggests a lifespan in the thousands of years, no one knows. Because of this, they also have extreme patience.

Ways to kill one : Cold will slow them down to a frozen state, not exactly kill them. Extreme heat can melt them. However, the easiest way to "melt" a Gargoyle is to throw an alkaline solution on them. Because they are acidic in nature, alkaline works spectacularly. A Gargoyle to "die" has to melt or be blown to small pieces. Cutting them with a sabre would work, although the weilder may not like an acid spray. But given they are tough enough to slow a blade, they can limit the damage by moving out of the way.

Ways to befriend one : Say hello

Ways to piss one off : Be a Life-leecher. Throw alkaline over them.

That should do for now. Like most of my chahracters, the Gargoyle has some very, very critical weaknesses to offset their toughness.
