Keys jingled. Click! The lock on the door moved postion. The door opened. It was dark, light from the hall spilled into the diningroom. A man and woman stood at the door's entrance. The man's hand reached in the dark for a light switch.

The room became fully lit. Boxes, four of them, were scattered around the diningroom and livingroom.

The diningroom was just offset from the livingroom, next to the kitchen. It was a small space. The only free standing furniture: a kitchen table made of oak, two chairs.

A coffee table was the only piece of furniture that occupied the livingroom. A television sat at the far end of the room, on the floor, next to a fireplace.

D'Mourning Orb and Araia stepped inside, crossing the threshold. After closing the door and placing his keys on the window bar of the kitchen, he wrote her a message: Make yourself at home. Can I get you anything to drink or eat? I've got cake. Made it myself. My family's cookbook was the one thing I did unpack.

She smiled at him. *Yes, thank-you. You've got a nice place here...I'm going to have to go shopping to add some originality to mine * she wrote back.

OOC: I think I e-mailed you about something but I might have gotten the address wrong...it's either sent to you from my e-mail or my sisters.

D'Mourning smiled. It was sweet of her to refer to his place as being "nice". He was rather ashamed of it himself.

He had left a lot of his belongings behind, during the move. His old couch was one of the casualties. It had a rip in the upholstery. It sat somewhere, outside of a dumpster on the planet of Corusant. He hoped to buy a new couch soon. It would make the room seem a little less bare, he thought to himself.

He wrote her a new message on the durasheet: I'll get the cake. It's white with coconut icing. I hope you like it. Milk?

Araia smiled. *Yes, thank-you. I was planning on going around town to collect some things for my place. Would you like to come?* she wrote.

Absolutely, was the first word that came to mind.

D'Mourning smiled brightly at Araia. His pen made strokes upon the durasheet.

I'd...

The next word was crossed out, but it resembled the word love. After the scratch, the message continued:

... like that very much. I really enjoy your company. I don't know if you are into literature as much as I am, but I have boxes full of reading material. A few books might help decorate your mantel, or desk, or coffee table. I could be like your own personal library, of sorts. I have some other things, like dishes, if you need any. Anthing to help.

Araia smiled. * I'll have to get a coffee table first. I wasn't able to bring any personal belongings when I came here, my situation didn't allow it.*

He chuckled after reading her message.

I guess so. I'll get the cake. Please, make yourself at home.

After having made two trips to the kitchen, D'Mourning returned. He added two glasses of milk, along with forks to the table. A slice of cake sat on a plate in front of each of them. They sat at opposite ends of the table.

D'Mourning and Araia sat, eating. They exchanged several glances, smiles.. D'Mourning wanted to wait until she finished eating to write her a message. He didn't want to disturb her..
A minute or more passed. The still air, the akwardness of the situation caused him to reach for his pen.

His pen scratched against the durasheet. He pushed it across the table for her to read.

Good?
