Oh the Joy of Lightsabers

[Salemn Lysce]

Salemn walked through the corridor, looking nervously to her left and right. Which room was occupied? Which one wasn't? Sighing, she walked to the end and paused, looking to her left. Guessing that nobody occupied it, she knocked on the door just to make sure. No answer. Carefully she opened it and turned on the light. Looking inside, she saw that it looked vacant.

Stepping inside, she closed the door and looked at the list Nash had given her to make her lightsaber. She put the sack she was carrying down and started to unwrap, checking each item off the list as she went on. When she was done, Salemn sat down and took out the instruction pamphlet. Biting nervously on her fingernails, she wondered if she could ever get this done...

*Nash walked down the hall twords his room when he noticed one of the rooms that was empty was nw occopied...*

Someone new..?

*He knocked on the door*

"Hello?"

[Salemn Lysce]

Salemn jumped, startled when the door was knocked on. Standing up, she looked at her mess and sighed. It hadn't even been a full five minutes and already she had disastered her new home. She walked over to the door and opened, peeking her head out. She saw it was Nash and fully opened the door, somewhat surprised.

Oh, hello.. I wasn't expecting company, but you can come right in and help me with my lightsaber if you want.

[Nash Stolar]

*nash walked in and looked around*

woah..

*He sat on the unused bed and watched salemn*

"Sorry, I can't help much with the saber. you have to build it yourself, ya know."

Salemn cleared her throat nervously, looking at her mess.

Uh... Right, I knew that.

She closed the door behind Nash and sat back down. Hmm... She began picking up the parts she could use to construct the handle of the lightsaber.

[Nash Stolar]

*nash chucked*

"You have not even started yet have you?"

[Salemn Lysce]

Nope...

She ducked her head while examining the parts so Nash wouldn't see that she was embarassed.

[Nash Stolar]

"I see..."

*he laughed and got up and stood behind her and looked at the parts.*

"Wow, how long did it take to get these?"

[Salemn Lysce]

About an hour or so.

Salemn smiled slightly.

Did it take me too long?

[Nash Stolar]

"No.. Not at all It usualy takes alot longer to find the parts.. where did you get them all?"

[Salemn Lysce]

Salemn remained quiet for some time after Nash asked her how long it had taken her. He had forgotten that she used to live on the streets and that she had .... connections.

A... friend helped me..

[Nash Stolar]

"A friend? Well your going to want to keep him as a friend... You will use quite alot of sabers when your a jedi."

*Nash chuckled, trying to remember all the sabers he had lost*

[Salemn Lysce]

Salemn grinned at Nash as she looked at the instruction manuel.

Alright.. We put this piece here and this piece there... Hmm.. It's not so bad...

[Nash Stolar]

"Hey, Not like I could do anything about it but I was wondering.. Is there a certen color you wanted your saber to be? Or.. Does it not matter?"

[Salemn Lysce]

Salemn looked up at Nash, a slightly confused look on her face.

Um... I think either white or a light blue... They always were my favorite colors.

[Nash Stolar]

"White? Well I haven't seen that one.. but I heard some person had one once..."

*Nash had a green saber, Nothing about it was very diffrent from the other green ones about.. but somehow when he made new sabers they always turned out green..*

[Salemn Lysce]

Really? Oh, I do hope I get white then...

White represented many things to Salemn, which is why it was one of her favorite colors.

[Nash Stolar]

*Nash un-cliped his saber and started to spin it in his left hand, he usualy did this to waste time*

"So, What do you want to do when you become a knight?"

[Salemn Lysce]

While she began to build the hilt of the lightsabre, Salemn thought over Nash's question.

I really don't know... I mean, it would be great to teach my own Padawans, but a part of me feels like that's not enough...

She sighed and concentrated on a tiny piece that didn't seem to fit where it should.

[Nash Stolar]

*Nash nodded*

"Well... so far what do you think it would be like to be a knight?"

[Salemn Lysce]

Salemn finally got the piece to fit. The hilt was now finished.

I think it would be a noble experience. I would work hard in order to keep that title and show the Siths what the Jedis are made of.

At this statement, she nodded, her eyes full of spark.

[Nash Stolar]

"Good.. I like those answers.. When you are a knight I bet you will bring more respect to the order... It seems to be lacking a little lately.."

[Salemn Lysce]

Salemn bit her lower lip and looked down shamefully. She had heard lately about how the Jedis have been slacking and how the Siths have been acting more cocky than usual.

[Nash Stolar]

"I have to say tho... I never really saw it this bad.. And I think of this continues the jedi will fall.... you have noticed how some of the jedi have been right?

[Salemn Lysce]

Salemn nodded her slightly.

No worry... When I become Knight I'll help out!

She flashed him a big grin before returning to her more serious look.

Um... I've finished the hilt, what do I do now?

[Nash Stolar]

*Nash nodded with a smile*

"Indeed I believe you will... As for the saber... Hold your breath and switch it on... That is if you did everything the manual said.."

[Salemn Lysce]

Salemn bit her lower lip and closed her eyes. This would determine everything in the future; her training, her battles and teaching Padawans. Very slowly her finger moved towards the switch then pressed on it. A faint humming and the smallest movement in her hand told her that it was activated.

She opened her eyes and gasped. It was beautiful. She tilted it around, examining it. The lightsabre was mainly white, but when the lights hit it just right, a rainbow of multicolors appeared.

I think I've just gotten the thrill of my first success...

[Nash Stolar]

*Nash Stood up and claped*

"Good job, Thats a very nice saber.. Now get some rest and we will start training again tomarrow.."

*Nash bowed with a smile and left the room*

She smiled and watched Nash walk out of the room. Pride filled her heart as she shut the door and looked at her lightsabre. Deactivating it, she set it on a dresser and walked away to the bedroom. She shut off the lights and laid down. As her eyelips became heavy and she drifted off to sleep, the last thought she had was about her brother...
