A new companion....

[Xazor]

Xazor walked into the Living Quarters.....the shadow of another following her. She looked around and then walked down the hall to her right. Taking many turnes she finally reached her hallway where a group of Jedi were gathered; talking and laughing in the middle of the hall. She slowly passed them and they stopped to eye the one behind her. She smiled and reached her room at the end of the hall. Gently placing her hand on the door, it whizzed open. She quickly walked inside and made room for her new companion to enter. The door hissed shut and she walked over to the bed and sat down, patting the bed lightly. Then, the large Wolf jumped up next to her. She smiled and stroked his soft fur.

It is alright, Kaukauna........everyone will love you soon enough.

She said softly and kissed his forehead. He gently licked her face and she giggled. It was good to have her friend.....her companion back with her. She sighed slightly and laid down next to him as she thought of how she was going to explain this one to everybody....

[Natia Lerf]

*Natia slowly hobbles up to the entrance of the Living Quarters, pauses for a moment as she struggles to open the door. She then continues in and looks down at the paper which is in her hand. Frowning slightly she looks up and starts to make her way towards Xazor's room. As she slowly walks past, with the assistance of her crutches, ppl give her friendly smiles and say hi to her. She just lowers her head and continues to Xazor's room. After several wrong turns, she finally makes it to Xazor's room. She stops in front of the door and looks up at it. Then after a moment, she hesitantly knocks on the door softly, and then again slightly louder. She then lowers her hand back to her crutch and waits patiently for the door to be answered and whispers softly*

I sure hope this is the right room.

[Xazor]

Kaukauna "hears" the knocking before Xazor does and jumps down from the bed and walks next to the door. He does not bark, but sits there. Xazor followed and put her hand on his head.

You have to go back in my room for a minute. I have a friend who I want to meet you....

She said softly. She made a few movements in sign language and the wolf obeyed. He went back and laid down on the floor in her room. She smiled and slowly opened the door to see Natia outside. She moved out of the way and helped her into her room.

Greetings little one. I am glad that you found my room alright.....

She said softly and showed her the way to an empty chair for her to sit in. She then walked over to the kitched and brought back a tray. On it was two glasses and a pitcher of Chocolate Milk, along with two plates. On the plates rested a slice of a mysterious cake. A recipe from Xazor's homeworld....something she would occasionally fix herself when she was feeling down. She smiled and filled both glasses with the Chocolate Milk, then handed one to Natia along with a plate. She gave her a fork and then sat down on the chair across from her. There was a small table in between them, so they could set their things down.

I thought you would like this.

She smiled brightly as Natia took a big bite of the cake.

[Natia Lerf]

*Natia sighs silently with relief when the door opens and she sees Xazor standing there. She then quietly hobbles into the room and over to the chair that is motioned to her*

Thank-you Xazor for inviting me over.

*Natia carefully moves both her crutches to one hand and then carefully sits down in the chair. After sitting, she leans over and places her crutches on the floor beside her chair and smiles slightly at the comfyness of the chair*

I made a few wrong turns on my way here. I'm sorry for taking so long on getting here.

*Natia smiles as she sees Xazor bring out a tray which has chocolate milk and cake on it and smiles even more as a glass of chocolate milk is handed to her and a slice of cake. She rests the cake on her lap and takes a quick sip of the chocolate milk. She then licks her lips to get the chocolate milk mustache off and takes a bite of the cake and smiles as she tastes it*

This is delicious Xazor. Thank-you.

*Natia takes a big gulp of milk and then another bite of cake. A huge smile is on her face as she does this*

You know, this is only my second time ever having cake. And this tastes a whole lot better then the first time because then the cake was hard and it tasted funny and I didn't really like it but I knew that cake was supposed to taste good because of the way that my Father and his friends ate cake in front of me all the time and saying that if I was good girl, I would get some, but I never did get any cake and well I know that eventually I would get some if I tried really really hard to be a good girl and like I said the only time I had cake it was hard and it tasted funny and I didn't really enjoy it but that is the way things go. I get what I'm meant to get and nothing more. What I want, I had to get myself and then it is always taken away from me and that makes me sad.

*Natia looks down at her cake and starts eating it in silence, knowing she shouldn't talk like that because it's not good to talk to much*

[Xazor]

Xazor smiled, glad to see that Natia enjoyed the sweets.

You may have as much as you want! I baked another one for you to take with you when you go to your room.

She smiled and took a drink of her Chocolate Milk. After taking a few large bites of the cake, it was gone from her plate. She quickly downed the Chocolate Milk and took her dishes to the sink. She gently set them in there and walked back to the living room where Natia was still enjoying her own. She looked at her intently and smiled.

Would you like to meet my friend now?

Xazor asked with a smile playing on her lips once again.

[Natia Lerf]

*Natia raises her head and looks at Xazor smiling*

You mean it?? I really can have as much as I want. Thank-you.

*Natia doesn't know what to say or how to respond to all this kindness that she's getting*

Yes please. I would like to meet your friend now

*Natia takes another bite of her cake and then finishes her chocolate milk*

[Xazor]

Smiling brightly, Xazor nods her head.

Yes, I mean it. You can have as much as you want!

She was glad that the little girl was happy.......that is what she had been striving for. Seeing that Natia was ready to meet her friend, Xazor made her way to her bedroom. Opening the door slightly, she peered inside to see Kaukauna resting on her bed. She gave a slight whistle and the wolf jumped down and followed behind her to the living room. When she was pretty close to Natia, Xazor looked at the wolf and spoke to him through sign language. He obeyed her command to sit and stay there for a moment. She looked at Natia, who's eyes were as big as Republic Credits. She smiled to herself and then spoke softly.

This is Kaukauna.......my wolf. He is deaf, but can hear me speak to him through the Force, and can understand sign language. He is very loving and gentle and will not hurt you.

She said, motioning for Natia to touch the wolf.

[Natia Lerf]

*Natia stares wide eyed at the wolf that comes out of Xazor's bedroom. She then gets a huge smile on her face as she sees Xazor signing to him. When Xazor begins speaking to her, she looks up at her and then to Kaukauna smiling*

He's cool Xazor.

*Natia reaches over to Kaukauna's head and pets him gently*

You are so nice and cool Xazor. Not only do you let me come here and then give me cake, but you also have a wolf. You must be pretty rich.

*Natia keeps smiling as she continues petting Kaukauna. She lets no sign or indication of the fact that she knows a bit of sign herself, except for the huge smile she got on her face when Xazor signed just a few seconds ago*

[Xazor]

Xazor grins, glad that Natia likes Kaukauna and he likes her also. She had to laugh when Natia mentioned about her being rich.

I guess you could say that.....but money isn't everything. I pride myself in the wealth I have in the Force.

She smiled brightly and joined in petting Kaukauna.

[Natia Lerf]

*Natia smiles and keeps petting Kaukauna as she looks up at Xazor*

Back home, only the rick ppl could afford to have a wolf as a pet. But I guess your right about money not being everything.

*Natia stops petting Kaukauna for a moment as she quickly finishes off her piece of cake and puts the cup and plate on the table. She then goes back to petting Kaukauna*

Xazor, what was life like for you before you came here?? Did you like it or did you run from it like I did??

*Natia asks curiously, relaxed enough to actually start asking questions without fear now*

And how did you get a hold of Kaukauna?? And how did you meet Satine and Sia and Loki??

[Xazor]

Xazor sighed, she could not lie about her past.....especially to a little girl like Natia.

I will not hide anything from you, little one. My life was glorious...in a sense. I was empress on the planet Cysaria. I was taken from my parents when I was just a baby and handed over to Sith Master Lord Kama...the emperor in that realm of the Sith Empire. He saw my Force potential and trained me in the ways of the Darkside. I quickly became a Warrior and then a Knight. I was a fierce fighter, and everyone respected me....though I killed a lot. I do not even remember how many were on my killing record. I stopped counting after five hundred......

She could see the shock on the little one's face, but knew she must continue.

I knew it was wrong....and was told so by a Jedi who I killed anyway. It was awe inspiring how they acted while facing death....as if they had not one care in the world and would die willingly. I didn't understand so I decided to research them.....later that year, I was awarded for being the greatest warrior our side of the empire had ever seen. I acquired the Mark of the Most High....a tattoo encrypted on my skin, and in my blood. It cannot be removed. I still have it to this day, and it will be a constant reminder of my past.

She paused shortly and rubbed Kaukauna's head before continuing.

I too ran from it, Mara. I knew that what I was doing was destroying me.....one day I finally saw the light. Some how......I knew I was always destined for it. The man I called "Master" almost killed me, but I was under the protection of the Force. Now I am here.....so I ran from it...but it was for the better.

She smiled gently and spoke one last thought.

I cannot run from my past, so I tell others about my great redemption. It seems to disappear, piece by piece everyday.....setting me free. I have learned to live with it and I am strong because of the hundreds of obstacles I have overcome.

She was confident in her words.......it was true, she was stronger now than ever, and she wished to pass that strength to the little girl.

[Natia Lerf]

*Natia listens quietly to what Xazor has to say. A slight look of shock and surprise comes to her face as she listens*

So you used to be mean like my Father and legal guardian??

*Natia smiles and laughs slighty*

But now your good. So, being here is better then where you were. That is what's important right??

*Natia asks this cautiously, hoping she is coming to the right conclusions*

Your happy here and that's what matters the most. If you are happy, then you are in the spot where you should be. I know I'm happy here and I don't want to leave. I really haven't had much to worry about here and I know that if anybody tries to hurt me here, there will be others that will protect me from them since I can't protect myself yet.

*Natia smiles at Xazor*

I think your brave Xazor. Being face to face with the evil that you grew up with and then turning away from it like you have.

*Natia looks down at the ground for a moment, a dark look crosses her face as she remembers some things from her past that she has told no one, not even Falcon. After a moment, the dark look is gone from her face and she looks up at Xazor again smiling*

Xazor smiles, glad that Natia does not think badly of her. It felt good to have the approval of another, especially from one who can be influenced only with time.

I have turned completely from my past....so yes, I guess you could say I am good now.

She laughed slightly and then gently laid a hand on the little girl's shoulder.

You have a good heart, Mara......never change.

Though she may not understand Xazor's words now, she would with time. She smiled to herself and her eyes seemed to glow with the words that were so gently spoken to her a while back....

So since your good now Xazor, you have nothing to worry about. Good always wins over Evil in the long run.

*Natia smiles happily at Xazor*

What do you mean by I have a good heart??

*Natia asks this with a slightly confused look on her face*

[Xazor]

Xazor smiles to herself, glad that the little girl understands the power of the light.

All things shall be revealed to you in time. Your heart is pure, little one.....and full of love. Share that love with others and never let it go.

She said softly as she resumed petting Kaukauna.

[Natia Lerf]

*Natia shakes her head slightly disagreeing*

I do understand the power of the light Xazor, but my heart is not pure. It can never be pure since I did something terrible. Remember, I killed my Father.

*Natia looks down at the ground again as she continues petting Kaukauna. After several minutes, she looks up at Xazor*

I'm sorry Xazor. I've kept something from you and since you have told me the truth about your past, I should tell you this.

*Natia takes a deep breath before continuing*

I have had some training with the Force before. I received it from my legal guardian. He was trying to teach me to hurt ppl and to kill them to. After I realized this, I refused to continue and that was when he beat me like he did.

*Natia looks up at Xazor for a moment and then looks back down at the ground again*

[Xazor]

Xazor placed her hand on Natia's shoulder.

Little one.....what you do not tell me is revealed through the Force. Remember how I knew your name when we first met?

She smiled gently on the little girl as she petted Kaukauna. The wolf looked up at Xazor, knowing through the Force what she was saying and silently agreeing with his Master. She looked at Natia for a moment and sighed.

You do have a pure heart, young one. No matter what your past held.......this is the present and your future. You did nothing wrong........it was not your choice. My past......that was my choice to a point...but I changed it by escaping..it was the will of the Force. You'll understand someday.

She smiled brightly, hoping that Natia would be put at ease with her words.

[Natia Lerf]

*Natia looks up at Xazor smiling*

Yes, I do remember how you knew my name. And I'm still wondering how you did that.

No, I can't have a pure heart since I killed my Father. Sure he was mean to me and hurt me, but he was still my Father and only wanted the best for me. I know he did. He just didn't know how to go about making sure I got the best.

*Natia closes her eyes for a moment to get herself under control*

Xazor, I want to forget. I want to forget my past and I want to think that life has always been good for me and that I never got beaten. I wish I knew what my Mother was like and if Father was ever nice. And how many siblings do I have?? I want answers to these questions. But I never will have answers just sitting her and learning. I know I should be patient, but I have been wondering for as long as I can remember and well, I'm starting to get frustrated. What can I do?? How can I find these answers??

*Natia looks up at Xazor with an upset look on her face*

[Xazor]

Xazor smiled gently and sighed to herself.

I know you want to forget.....but your past is just as much a part of you as your future. I have learned to live with my past by talking about it.....and being positive! You must look at everything in a good way, or you will never forget......

She said softly, hoping that the little girl understood.

[Natia Lerf]

But I want to forget now. I don't want to remember the years of pain I went through. Anybody I talked to that I wasn't supposed to, they got tortured and it was all my fault Xazor and I could do nothing to stop it.

*Natia lowers her head and starts to cry as she remembers and tells some of her painful memories*

I know I should look at everything from a good point of view, but I don't have much experience with good.

But whenever I have tried looking at things positively, something bad always comes to mind and well, I don't like it. Whenever I talk to you, I can see my Father whipping you while your chained to a wall and me helpless to stop. I can't help it but I want to stop seeing things like that.

*Natia keeps crying as she talks, hoping that for some reason Xazor will understand somehow*

[Xazor]

Xazor takes the little girl in her arms and rubs her back as she cries heavily.

Little one......I more than understand. You must have patience though. That is a virtue of the Jedi......

She says softly as she rests her head on the top of Natia's.

On my home planet......I was the Empress.......kinda like a princess. I was not to talk to many people either. Too, like you.....if I talked to an unauthorized person......they were killed. That is why I became friends with my hand maiden.....and that is why I know sign language. She was deaf......she was my only friend.

A few tears fall from her eyes as she tells these hidden secrets. She had never told these things to anyone before......

*Natia keeps crying for a couple of moments before getting her tears under control. she then looks at Xazor*

Your right, I do need to be patient for some things, but it seems to be taking so long.

*Natia laughs slightly*

Sounds like things were tough for both of us and we have alot more in common then most ppl. I know sign because that is one of our forms of communications. We are experts at imitating ppl's voices and body movement as well as reading body movement and facial expressions. That's how I can usually tell what most ppl are thinking by the way they act. A long time ago, my ancestors weren't allowed to speak to one another so they formed there sign language. I'm not completely fluent in it yet, but I hope to be eventually.

*Natia smiles at Xazor*

That is one thing my Father wanted to make sure I knew how to do.

[Xazor]

Xazor smiled and wiped the tears from her eyes and then from Natia's face. She sat back a little and smiled again.

That's great! We have quite a few deaf people here at the Order.

She thought of her few deaf friends and how they were happy about Xazor's signing.

[Natia Lerf]

*Natia's face brightens up alot*

Really?? There are quite a few deaf ppl here??

*Natia quickly looses the smile on her face*

I doubt that any of them would understand the signing that I do, but I guess I could try and sign to them to see if they could understand it. What do you think??

[Xazor]

Xazor nodded and smiled.

I think that would be a really nice ideal....

She softly laid a gentle hand on the little girl's shoulder.

I think that they feel lonely sometimes......and at least an attempt to talk to one of them would make their day brighter than it started out to be......

She smiled once again, recalling her many conversations with her friend, D'Mourning Orb. He had a kind heart and she was glad they could sign to one another.....

Xazor, how many ppl are deaf here?? Can all of them sign?? Are any of them my age??

*Natia asks these questions curiously*

So you really think it is a nice idea and that they would like that?? I haven't seen many ppl using the form of sign that I know since I left home a few years ago so do you think that some of them may know the sign that I use??

*Natia starts to pet Kaukauna again as she talks with Xazor*

Xazor smiles and nods gently.

There are many.......two or three of which I know. I have seen others, though......but I do not know them personally. One of my best friends here is deaf! His name is D'Mourning Orb. You should meet him sometime..........maybe he would understand your type of sign language.

She smiled thoughtfully for a moment.

[Natia Lerf]

*Natia shrugs slightly*

You never know, he may understand, but then again, he may not understand, but of course we should worry about that when the time comes.

*Natia looks at Kaukauna and then up at Xazor*

How did you meet Kaukauna??

[Xazor]

Xazor smiled, glad to see that Natia was thinking of talking to one of the deaf students. She then asked about how she met Kaukauana.

Well.....when I lived on my home planet, I had a different wolf companion. His name was Kai, and he was very much like Kauakauna becuase they are brothers. There are large wolf packs on that planet, so it was hard to keep track of all of them, unless they were Force sensitive. Well, when I left......my Sith Master killed Kai. A week ago, I went in search of answers to some of the questions in my past......and I came across this fine fellow.

She smiled and rubbed Kaukauna's head.

[Natia Lerf]

*Natia smiles happily*

And so you decided to bring Kaukauna here with you. That was a nice thing to do Xazor.

*Natia smiles a bit more*

Who knows, maybe one day when I go back to my homeworld, I might have a wolf at my side and everybody will wonder who I am. They will all think that I am so rich noble from afar, when in fact, I am a poor girl who used to get beaten all the time.

*Natia looks at Kaukauna as she keeps petting him. Then she looks up at Xazor*

Xazor, I'm wondering something. How active do Jedi have to be??

[Xazor]

Xazor smiles, glad that her young friend approves of her actions. She then gets a confused look on her face at Natia's question.

A Jedi has to be active all the time! It is a life that they live, not something they do.....

She looked at the ground for a moment and sighed, hoping she was making sense to the little girl.

Mara.....a Jedi has to be active even while walking through the halls of the temple...or down the street. Even a simple smile to a stranger is an act that a Jedi performs...

She said softly, looking into the young Jedi's eyes, hoping that she understood Xazor's answer.

[Natia Lerf]

*Natia listens to Xazor's answer to her question, a sad look getting on her face*

Then I guess, there is no point in me becoming a Jedi. I won't be able to be as active as needed because of ...

*Natia looks down at the ground, fully understanding what Xazor was saying*

I guess I should start considering packing my things to go.

*Natia mumbles under her breath*

I knew this was to good to be true.

[Xazor]

A confused expression washes over Xazor's face.

What do you mean, pack up and go? You are doing wonderfully!!

She laid both of her hands on the little girls shoulders and looked straight into her eyes.

No one is requesting you to leave....and they won't! You are plenty active.....you are only a child, no one expects you to save the galaxy!

She laughed to herself softly.

[Natia Lerf]

But I won't be able to be as active as you said Jedi are. I'll never be able to be that active. I want to stay, but I won't be able to do all that I'm supposed to.

*Natia takes a deep breath and continues talking*

I want to stay and all, but given time, I won't be able to keep up with the fast pace here. I have seen it and already, I can't keep up. What am I supposed to do though??

[Xazor]

What do you mean you won't be able to keep up? You are but a child.....no one is expecting that much from you. That is about how active a Knight like myself should be. You are only a padawan for heavens sake! You are doing excellent little one!

She said with a reassuring smile.

[Natia Lerf]

*Natia smiles slightly*

I may be doing excellent right now, but what about when I get older?? You see the way that I walk. I can't even walk without my crutches and I can barely stand without them. If anybody attacks me,

*Natia laughs slightly*

I'm as good as dead. I can't move quickly unless I am falling down or just moving my arms.

I move as fast as a kid just learning to walk Xazor, and I'm 7, close to 8. If it's not one thing that stops me from walking, it's another. When I was younger, my Father removed a small bone from each of my ankles. I have since had it replaced, but I have to go in for surgery each year to get that replaced so I can continue on with my life, and believe me, before I get it replaced each year, my ankles hurt.

*Natia laughs lightly*

So you see, I will never make it up to a Jedi like this. All I am good for is beating up and that's all.

*Natia continues petting Kaukaun*

[Xazor]

Xazor shook her head again.

No, that isn't true.....you do not need to move to protect yourself and others! You have the Force, and it is your ally! Use it to your advantage.....you don't need your body to fight!

She thought for a moment and rubbed her left arm. Looking down at Natia's legs, she suddenly got an idea.

I know of someone who could make you walk again.......and you'd never have to have surgeries or use crutches again.......he reattached my left arm! Look, it's good as new, and it had been completely cut off below the elbow!

She rolls up the sleeve of her robes and shows Natia her arm.....it looked untouched except for a few minor scars....

I would pay for the whole procedure........

She would do whatever it took to give this precious little girl everything that she needed or wanted. She felt it was her calling to help her.....

[Natia Lerf]

*Natia looks at Xazor with a slightly sad look on her face*

Xazor, the doctors which tended to my injuries after I got them awhile back did everthing they could to heal me up. And at no cost to me. They even got a Jedi healer in there to help out, that's actually why I am able to walk with crutches right now. If they hadn't of done that, then I would be stuck in a hoverchair right now.

*Natia leans over and rubs her left ankle slightly, knowing what time of the year it is*

I'll be fine Xazor. You don't need to pay for anything for me. But thank-you for the offer though, but I doubt it would do anything except maybe get it so I don't need to go in for yearly surgeries for my ankles which kinda cost alot.

*Natia then smiles*

Xazor, just having you as a friend is enough. You don't need to do anything else for me. I kinda actually think of you as my M...

*Natia's voice trails off as she looks back down at Kaukauna and continues petting him*

[Xazor]

Xazor sighed......she knew that the doctors could help Natia....maybe she would take her there one day and show her all that they could do. They were said to be the best in the galaxy......

I hope you reconsider....I know they can help you.....

She smiled gently and continued petting the soft fur of her wolf companion. Natia continued speaking but suddenly stopped. Xazor knew what she was about to say....

Your Mother.......?

Xazor said softly. She was breathtaken.....no one had ever thought of her so highly before....

[Natia Lerf]

Don't worry Xazor, I will be fine without anything being done to me to try and finish healing me.

*Natia says this quickly, almost as if there is another reason for her to say this. She then nods and smiles slightly*

Well, yes. It's just that you have been so kind to me, the way I have seen Mothers being kind to there children. And you want me to be happy.

I know this probably sounds silly, but truthfully, your the way I pictured my Mother being. Kind, caring, helpful. Not to mention you always seem to be cheeful.

*Natia looks up at Xazor at this point*

I hope that I'm not saying someting wrong, it's just that, well, I do think of you as my Mother. I hope you don't mind.

[Xazor]

Xazor smiled gently and laid a hand on Natia's shoulder.

Little one.....I want to very best for you. If you want.......

She thought about this for a moment and smiled, not hesitating any longer.

If you want......I will adopt you as my daughter......

She hoped she was not overstepping her boundaries.......but she thought it would be a good change for the little girl. She needed someone stable in her life.......

[Natia Lerf]

*Natia keeps looking at Xazor, a slight look of shock and surprise on her face*

You mean it?? You really mean it?? You really would adopt me as your daughter??

Why though?? Why would you want to adopt someone as undeserving as me?? I'm not worth having around at all, especially as a daughter.

*Natia still has a shocked and surprised look on her face. She can hardly believe what Xazor just said*

Well, I have always wanted a Mother and I do think of you as my Mother, so I guess it would be all right, that is if you really want to, though I don't see why you would want to adopt someone as unworthy as me.

[Xazor]

Xazor smiled gently on Natia.

Little one....I would not want anyone else as my daughter but you....

She reached over and hugged her for a moment and then pulled away to reveal a large grin on her face.

Yes, I would love to adopt you as my daughter, little one.

She was so happy that Natia would even consider her as her Mother....it was a title that she felt undeserviing to have....

[Natia Lerf]

*Natia hugs Xazor back while smiling. She then looks at Xazor curiously*

I'm just guessing here, but you think that you are underserving of being called a Mother, why?? I don't know anyone more deserving then you. I mean, your a nice person, always wanting to help ppl out.

*Natia gets a smile on her face again*

You know something, this will be a good experience for both of us. I get to find out what having a Mother's like, and you get to be a Mother in case you have any kids of your own at a later date.

[Xazor]

Xazor smiled gently on Natia.

You are so very smart.....I cannot fool you. Yes, I feel underserving to hold such a title because of my past. I know I am a changed person.....but I feel like you in many ways. Since I have caused so much grief to so many families and people......I do not deserve to be a mother to anyone. I ripped sons from their mother's arms.....and ripped mother's from their daughter's arms.....maybe, though....this is my second chance.

A new kind of smile embraced Xazor's expression now.....one of pure hope.

My daughter....

Saying this made Xazor's heart soar.....it was unlike anything she had ever felt before.

We shall overcome many obstacles together, as we already have........

She smiled, embracing Natia once again. She made a silent vow to be the best mother she could be to this wonderful little girl....now thoughts rested on her own father. He had just adopted her not so long ago, and already he had a grandchild! How happy he would be....

She smiled gently taking the little girl in her arms. Natia was now her little girl...all this was so new to Xazor, but the feeling was incredible.

She said with joy, thinking of the reaction Verse will have when he finds out the news.

*Natia has a slightly puzzled sound to her voice as she asks this*

*Natia's voice gets rather quiet upon saying the last bit there, almost as if she is going into deep thought. She then suddenly hugs Xazor smiling and whispers*

Xazor laughs to herself, for she had forgotten to explain the term to the little girl.

No, a grandfather is the father of your mother or father. Your grandfather is my father. His name is Verse Dawnstrider and he will want to meet you!

She smiled gently and then Natia hugged her. She warmly embraced the little girl and smiled like she never had before.

Now...do you wish to live in your own room, or do you want to move in with me? This is a very large compartment and it's only me and Kaukauna.

The Knight said with a gentle smile as Kaukauna moved in closer to both of them. He placed his large front paw on Xazor's lap and almost seemed to smile also.

Right now I'm staying in Sia's room with her since I don't have my own room right now. I actually wouldn't mind staying here, that is if Kaukauna won't chase me kitten.

*Natia looks down at Kaukauna and smiles down at him. She then looks up at Xazor*

If you want, I will move in here with you. I don't have much, just a small bag of clothing and a bit of dried meat.

*Natia gets a thoughtful look on her face for a moment*

Xazor smiled gently on Natia.

Yes, your grandfather is a loving man. You can trust him with your life. He loves me very much and he takes care of me. He will love you too and take care of both of us.

She gently pets her wolf companion and smiles.

Kaukauna will not chase your kitten. He loves every creature and will protect you, me, and your kitten from anyone that tries to hurt us. He already loves you!

She smiled once again, thinking of how quickly her life was changing.

Yes, your grandfather is very nice. He would never hurt me or you. If we are ever in trouble or need his help, he will be there for us. If I was dying....he would give his life for me and I am sure he will do the same for you. You now also have two uncles! They are my brothers and they shall love you as well. Satine Capashen and Chaos Alexander are their names and they are both nice and can be trusted...even if Chaos is a Sith, he cares about me and will protect our family. Satine...also known as Alpha, is fourteen years old and is a Warrior Jedi Knight like myself...and Chaos is seventeen and is a Sith Knight. Neither of them would hurt us either. My father...your grandfather, looks like he is twenty five, but he is really fourty!

She laughed to herself, thinking about how she had always thought he was twenty five....he sure did act like it!

Xazor nodded and smiled.

Yes, I am sure he will want to meet you!

She looks down at her wolf companion and continues petting him. His muscular body gently shifted so he was leaning up against the little girl.

He is Force sensitive......I can speak in his mind. The feelings that I am collecting from him tell me that he loves you too! His body movement also says that. He is close to you right now and enjoys your presence.

She said with a smile. She nodded to Natia's question and smiled.

Yes, you are welcome to move here with me. This place is more than big enough, and Kaukauna won't chase your kitty. He is very gentle to every creature.

She said with an assuring smile.

I am kinda curious about when I will get to meet my Grandfather.

I'm happy that Kaukauna likes me. I like him as well though I'm not to sure if my kitten will like him or not, but there is only one way to tell.

She said, excitement ringing in her voice. She looked down at the little girl and sighed happiness. Suddenly, this child became her life. It was an incredible feeling.

Yes, you can move in here whenever you like! And don't forget to tell Sia......I am sure she will not mind.

She knew that her good friend would think it a wonderful idea.

I think I should warn you, since my Father didn't have a will written when he died, all his belongings are now mine since I am, as far as ppl back home know, his only living relative. Maybe some day I can show you the house I grew up in since it is now mine. That is only if you want to see it and if you don't want to see it, I won't show it to you then.

Mother, do you think that it would be possible for me to go back home soon?? I am kinda homesick. I haven't been home in 3 years now and I miss it.

Xazor smiled and hugged the little girl tightly.

She listened as Natia spoke of her father's things that now belonged to her. She nodded and smiled.

Sure......I would love to go see your house.

She thought for a moment after Natia asked her question about visiting her home. She pulled out a crono keeper and checked the date. She had a bunch of time in the next few weeks to do whatever she wanted. With a smile, she sat the crono pad down and nodded.

We can go back to your home whenever you would like. If you wish.....we can see your grandfather tonight, and leave for your home tomorrow.......or in a few days! Whenever you wish to go.....just ask.

She smiled gently.

I can't. I can't go back home. Not until I can defend myself properly because my legal guardian will be there watching. He wants to get me back so he can teach me things which I don't want to learn.

*Natia lowers her hand, resting it on her hands, her elbows on her knees*

I can never go back there if I can't defend myself and I don't want to risk you getting hurt.

Xazor wrapped her arms around Natia.

Little one....I am a Jedi Knight. I can defend both of us, and if I get hurt, I know how to heal myself. I would let nothing happen to you, and no one would take you away from me. I can guarantee you this. I have constant connection with a Jedi Master too....so if we get into any trouble, he will be there. Your grandfather will also be there if anything happens. In fact......many Jedi would come if anything happened. So, do not worry.......tonight we shall visit your grandfather, and then tomorrow we can leave!

She smiled brightly.

*Natia continues smiling, her eyes shining a bright ice blue right now. After a moment she giggles slightly*

I think I should point out to you right now so you aren't surprised that back home, there are others like me who can imitate voices and body language. I've heard you often enough that I could do an almost exact copy of your voice if I wanted to that is. It's something we get taught and seem to know how to do from instinct. But don't worry, I won't use my skill for bad things like my legal guardian wanted me to.

Xazor nodded her head and smiled down on the little girl.

My child...no one will separate us. I promise this to you. Yes...we will go back to your homeworld.

She hugged Natia and smiled brightly.

That sounds like an interesting talent you have. I too can do many things that you would not believe, but you will learn in time...

Thank-you for being willing to go to my home so I can show it to you. It's not in the nicest area of town, but it is still home.

Everybody that is local there can do that. I actually have alot of fun with it, speaking as if I am somebody else instead of me. I went for a whole month before, speaking in somebody elses voice but not mine for the whole month. That was fun.

It does not matter where one comes from...it is the thought and memory...the knowledge that it is home that counts.

She listens as Natia tells her story about speaking as someone else. She then laughs heartily to herself...

That is very funny....the most I have ever done is imitate the guards where I used to live. It made them go mad and they couldn't do anything about it.

She laughed once again and smiled on the little girl.

Well, if we are to leave soon.....we need to get packing. I have something for you...but I cannot give it to you right now, I must see you later and then give you the surprise.

She smiled brightly, knowing that Natia would probably enjoy what she had for her.

Xazor smiled gently and shook her head.

You won't "get in my way". I love you and it's impossible for you to do that....

She said softly. Looking down at Kaukauna, she smiled once again.

Okay......I'll show you...come this way.

She then remembered that it would take the little girl longer to reach the room because of her crutches. With a bright smile, she swooped her up in her arms and carried her to a small guest bedroom. Setting her down on the bed, she unlocked the chest at the foot of the bed.

Now close your eyes....

She said with a grin. As soon as the little girl did, Xazor began pulling the contents of the chest out. One by one, she pulled beautiful robes, dresses, pants, shirts, and short sets. They were stunning and appeared brand new. It was the wardrobe that Xazor was provided as a young child, living in the Emperor's Head-Quarters on Cysaria. The clothes would all fit Natia, and Xazor had been saving them in case she had a daughter or found someone who needed them. There were tons of clothes, and it took her about five minutes to lay it all out.

Okay....open your eyes....

She said softly, anticipating the reaction from Natia.

*Natia smiles happily. To her, everything right now feels right, not like it did with her Father where almost everything felt wrong. She then lets out a slight shriek as she is unexpectedly scooped up into Xazors arms and carried to a small guest room where she is put down on the bed and obediantly closes her eyes when she is told to. She keeps her eyes closed though she is tempted to open them and peek. When she is told that she can open her eyes she does, a look of surprise appears on her face as she sees the clothes*

Are these all for me??

*Natia asks this in a quiet voice, thinking it's to good to be true*

Xazor nods excitedly and smiles brightly.

Oh yes! They are all for you! Each and every one of them!

She grinned, for her heart felt joy to be able to give such a gift to the child. It was a wonderful feeling inside of her heart this moment, and she never wanted it to go away......

Do you like them? They are all your size too!

Joy rang through her voice as she said this to Natia. An eternal smile danced upon her lips....

She said with a reassuring smile. She was glad that Natia liked them as much as she did....it brought joy to her heart.

Oh yes, we should get ready to go. I do know someone who would love to take care of your kitten.

She said with a smile.

The kind woman, Maia....remember she had the hawk? Well, after I speak with the hawk, he'll leave your kitty alone, and she'll be able to take care of her.

She smiled once again, and noticed a slightly surprised look on Natia's face.

Yes, I talk to animals...

She rose to her feet and scooped up the little girl in her arms once again, holding her tightly.

Alright now....we need to pack. Do you wish to bring some of your new clothes with you?

She questioned in a gentle voice.

Just as long as my kitten stays safe while we are gone.

*Natia gets a slightly surprised look on her face when Xazor mentions that she talks to animals. After a moment she looks at her new clothing before looking back up to her Mother*

Yes I do wish to take some of my new clothing, but I know if I do that, then I will stick out like a sore thumb there as will you if you bring alot of nice clothing. It's safest to wear single coloured, more or less dark clothing back home.

What I brought here with me is more or less what I will take. The condition and colouring is suitable for what is normal there.

Xazor smiled and nodded.

Then I shall take my traditional Jedi robes instead of my red and blue ones.

She said with a smile.

I do not wish to draw to much attention to us.....but I will still carry all of my weapons.

She informed the little girl. She did not expect trouble, but if there was any......they would be well protected.

No Mother. Do Not wear the tradtional Jedi robes. That is a sure way of drawing attention to us. As well as my legal guardian.

As for your weapons, they will also draw attention to us if they are in sight.

*Natia says this with a concerned tone in her voice. She's not wishing for any harm to come upon them so she's going to try and not have any attention drawn to them. Especially her Mother*

I'm sorry if I'm overstepping my boundries, but I just want to make sure that you are kept safe when we go there. It's never been a safe place, and it's even less safe with my legal guardian running things there. I just want you to be kept safe.

*Natia looks down at the ground and then back up at her Mother*

Everybody back home wishes for a better life, but everytime a cry for help has gone out, the whole town is punished and the ones who sent out the cry for help are tortured. The one time that help was sent, it came in the form of a Jedi, and they got killed. If I remember what I've been told correctly, it was my Father who killed him. This happened before I was even born so I don't know how much of what I had been told is true, but I don't want to put either of us into any risk, but seeing a how your a Jedi Knight, we shouldn't have to worry about anything going wrong.

Xazor listens intently, learning as much as she can from the little girl. She sighes slightly to herself as she thinks deeply about this.

The only other robes I have are Sith robes....they are black....

She thinks to herself more.

I am able to conceal my weapons so no one sees them. No harm shall befall you, I promise. I am not to concerned with myself. But as I said, it's either my Jedi robes....or the ones I wore while I was Sith.....

She said softly.

*Natia sighs and nods her head slightly*

I'm not worried about harm befalling me because ppl back home will probably recognize me. The know I had it worse then they did though they will not know why I came back unless my life is worse where I have been. That is probably what they will think so I am not to worried about myself. They will probably try to scare you to get you to leave because they have no wish for anything bad to befall you. It is there way of protecting outsiders so do not be alarmed if they try to scare you but they might not since you will be with me.

Xazor sighed slightly, and then remembered something.

I have Garou robes and furs! They will not draw attention, for they look like commoners clothes.

She smiled brightly.

I can hide my weapons in them also! Here, look...

She carried Natia to her bedroom and set her on the bed, then opened her closet. Inside were beautiful robes of many colors.....along with the set of Garou robes and furs. She took them out and showed them to Natia.

I think these will do well!

The Knight smiled once again, but then remembered that Natia would not even know what a Garou was. Xazor was Garou and had not even explained this to the little girl.... It didn't seem like the right time, though. Not with so much happening now...

*Natia smiles up at her Mother. She remembers once, on her travels somebody mention Garou, but not what they were*

*Natia says this before her Mother takes her into her bedroom. After getting there and seeing her Mother's Garou robes, she nods her head slightly*

Yes Mother, they will do. Now if only we could hide the fact that you are an outsider there, no attention will be drawn to us.

Xazor frowned slightly and sighed.

A Garou is a.......werewolf. That is what I am.

She said softly. She didn't know if Natia would understand.....and she was afraid that the little girl would be afraid of the race. Still, she had to tell her no matter what.

Cool. I've head about Werewolve's but I have never met one. What's it like Mother?? Being a werewolf that is.

*Natia tilts her head slightly out of curiosity and continues smiling. It is obvious that she likes the fact that her Mother is a werewolf*

Xazor laughed slightly, glad that Natia is accepting of this idea.

Well.....it is like......I don't know. It is just me and I can't describe it. My senses are sharper because of it. I have longer canine teeth and sometimes if I need, I can develope claws in my hands. I have a habit of growling a lot also.

She laughed once again, smiling fullly this time to show Natia her elongated canines.

"I did not wish to frighten you, or make you think that I would harm you or others because I am......well... a beast. Many mistake me for human, but I am the farthest thing from it. I take pride in who I am, Natia. I just didn't want you to be upset. "

She said with a caring hug.

Mother, there is really only one thing that would get me upset and that is if you tell me that you no longer want me. As for frightening me, that's not easily done anymore and I would never believe that you would harm me on purpose.

Xazor smiled once again, in her eyes, happiness danced.

"Yes....and you are my daughter..."

She said with a gentle smile.

"Now, we should think about getting ready to go on that trip!"

We won't need to pack to much, mainly just food so we can eat. Food and a bit of clothing, not to much clothing and not to bright.

*Natia ice blue eyes show immense excitement about going home, but a slight bit of fear*

Mother, promise me one thing. While we are there, please, don't mention the Jedi Academy. That is a sure ticket to death. Any mention of Jedi is discouraged so you can guess what would happen if we announced we are coming from a Jedi Academy. It's not that I'm ashamed about being here, I just don't want you hurt. You understand don't you??

*Natia really hopes her Mother does understand the importance of what she's saying here knowing that in the past when ppl are found out to be Jedi, they are killed in her hometown and she's not wanting that to happen to either one of them*

Xazor nodded her head and smiled gently.

"I will not mention a word about the Jedi. I understand what the need is to stay hidden.....I have had to do so before. Now......we need to pack, and it is a good idea not to pack too much. Food and a few articles of clothing are all we will need little one......you are wise in your words."

She smiled once again, noting in her mind how right Natia was with all that she had said. Indeed, if there were any ways to prevent something bad from happening to them, Natia was the one to ask. Of course she knew these things.....she had lived there. Xazor could relate extremely well.....

Yes, I think we should pack only a couple changes of clothes. If we can make ourselves look poor and miserable, that is better then rich and happy. Most of our packing space should be food and water. Yes there will be water there, but it is safer to take our own.

Xazor smiled and nodded.

"We will be well hidden my little one...fear not, I shall protect you. Now....we must pack if we are to leave anytime soon! As you said, only what is necessary!"

She said with a smile.

Xazor looked down slightly, she didn't like hearing Natia's words because she wanted to think that nothing would ever happen to either of them. She nodded though, and look up into the little girl's eyes.

"Yes....I promise you that. If something happens to you, I won't worry. I'll help you the best I can, and get help."

She said with a gentle smile, hoping in her heart that she would never have to see something happen to her little daughter, it would be heart breaking to the Knight.....

It's because if I am taken from you, there will be forces there that are stronger then both of us combined and would be more then what you can handle by yourself. I'm not trying to be mean here Mother so I hope you can understand that. I just want you to be as safe as possible and not to take any more unnessacary risks then we already are. *Natia again sounds more mature then her age would say she is but it is the way that she actually is. Though there are more child moments there then the adult moments now, but she does keep the maturity that is already there*

She said softly. She looked around for a moment and then brought her eyes back to meet the little girl's.

"Indeed...I am only one person...though I am a Jedi, that does not mean I can fight a war by myself!"

She laughed slightly, hoping Natia did not expect her to do that either.

Xazor thought it was so sweet of Natia to wish to repay her...but it was not necessary.

"You do not have to give me anything in return...I help those who need it...and you, you need love. And that is what I give you."

She hugged the little girl and smiled to herself.

I feel that I do owe you something in return for you giving me my life Mother. Nobody has ever done that for me. My real Mother gave life to me, but you have enabled me to live it. For that, I owe you and for that, I will repay you.
