Teka breathed in as his surroundings finally sank in. The large forest provided homing for hundreds of species of animals, and again lots of different types of trees. The light managed to seep down from the large branches and leaves that twisted and curved high above his head, and scatter over the muddy and grassy ground. The climate was not tropical or humid, in fact it was quite the opposite. It was a chilly day. The rain had swept in and out with the wind. The ground was moist and as Teka kicked through it small droplets of water jumped into the air, and came back down onto the trouser legs of Teka.

Clad in white trousers and shirt, his black boots, belt and cloak all stood out well. At the bottom of his cloak a visible darker mark could be seen from about one inch downwards. This was a result of the wet ground, which his cloak had swept over. Luckily for him, his cloak was made from a sturdy material, that wouldn’t tear or rip for a long time yet. The twigs beneath his feet crunched and the mud clumps crumbled. At last he reached the clearing, in the centre a large log. In this clearing the branches above had been cut to make an effective circular effect, where the light shone everywhere. This would be a good place to meditate.

He walked into the circle of light and closed his eyes as the heat from the sun came down on him. Stepping over to the log he sat, cross-legged, length ways, facing the direction in which he entered the forest. His elbows rested on each knee and his hand came together, his finger binding onto each other, and his index fingers pointing upwards together, touching his chin. He closed his eyes and let the force take over him. He would wait a few minutes before he started his training.

Slowly the Knight took his fingers away from his chin and rested them over each other, so all of his fingers were now crossed over each other. Quickly he opened his eyes, as if returning from another world inside his head, and spun to put his feet on the ground. He took in a deep breath and again momentarily closed his eyes calling a being to him.

He opened his eyes as a loud, high-pitched ’squawk’ echoed through the forest. He stood without using his hands to aid him, and watched as the creature glided between the trees, it’s weightless body soaring through the air to him. He held out his hand as the eagle like creature slowed to a landing on Teka’s index finger. Teka watched the magnificent creature with great interest. Its black eyes surveyed the surroundings and its long brown feathers lifted in a slight breeze. Without movement from Teka the board flew off his finger into the forest, dodging trees and branches. Still in Teka’s sight, the bird turned around one of the larger of the trees ad made an upwards launch out of view of Teka. The trees now blocked his vision, but he could see where the bird was exactly. Looping in the air, the eagle dived down, using gravity as its ally, back into the forest, through the branches and leaves down and around Teka, before perching back on his finger. He smiled before once again the eagle jumped off his finger and sailed into the forest.
