View Full Version : To Follow the Path of Light - Ivychari Meyu

Navaria Tarkin
Feb 7th, 2002, 03:29:36 AM
It was 0700 hours and Navaria was patiently waiting outside in the Courtyard for her Padawan to arrive. Meyu had told her that the air was quite suitable for his lungs but needed time in order for him to get used to it. No time like the present as the saying went.

There wasn't a cloud in sight and the evening chill was still evident with the mist clinging closely to the top of the jungle. That made the air still thick with moisture and the Knight kept the hood of her cloak close to her face. It was warm and comfortable unlike the air around her.

Tiny wisps of vapors rose free from her mouth still indicating that the chill had not left when morning came. Letting the Force run freely through her body, Navaria quieted her mind and hoped that her Padawan would be here at a quarter after. First impressions are important ...

Meyu took up a fast pace, half walking half jogging. His hands were folded in front of him, and his hood was was up, though he hadn't made any attempts to conceal his face.

He stopped just outside the courtyard, and took a deep breath. It was a bit cooler outside, and he dicided to take in the pleasing temperature and let the moisture flow over him.

His pace slowed as he caught sight of Navaria, and he stopped a few feet from her and bowed.

"I am here, my Master."

OOC~ Gonna go a little OOC here now only for a few things. Firstly, if you ever have any questions for me, don't hesitate to send me a Private message. Just click on my name. Secondly, if you want to ever have a sig made, I can get you a couple of links to some people who would make a great one for you

Anything else, let me know if you have any problems.

IC~ Navaria turned around and returned the bow to her Padawan.

"Good morning to you, Meyu."

She stood up right and started to walk away from the courtyard and towards the outlining jungle ahead.

"I trust your first stay with the Order was pleasant?"

Ivychari Meyu
Feb 7th, 2002, 02:40:11 PM
OOC: Yes, I would like a sig. However, because of my eyes, I think a picture of Paul Ma'Dibb Atreadies from Dune would be appropriate. Thankyou.

IC:

"The morning be pure." Meyu followed his new master. She had very pleasant features, her sad eyes sparked a gentle emotion within him. She looked delicate, and it put Meyu at ease. She had a soft voice, even if it was deeper than women on Shakra'Va.

"My stay was...interesting. At the bar, I had a rather strange drink. It was yellow in color, and frothy on its surface. It was slightly bitter, and after injesting a sizable portion, I began to feel lightheaded and dizzy."

Navaria Tarkin
Feb 7th, 2002, 02:58:21 PM
OOC~ Well, someone is already using that picture, so it would be a good idea to find something else. When you do decide, you can go to Ogre's Cave (http://pub76.ezboard.com/fogrescavefrm4) or Down Under (http://pub9.ezboard.com/bdownunder). Ogre and Eve can help ya :) If you don't have AIM you could always email Eve.

IC~ The sides of her mouth curled into a knowing smile, though it was hard to see it because of the hood covering her face.

"You had your first experience in human liquor. It's called beer. I'm surprised you didn't wake up with a headache today."

She glanced over at Meyu and spoke a bit quieter.

"Best to stick with juice and water from now on."

They stopped a few feet away from the start of the jungle. Within earshot, critters chirped away as the leaves rustled with life.

"I suggest namana juice. A favorite of mine from Bakura. Not too sweet but holds a distinct flavor."

Ivychari Meyu
Feb 7th, 2002, 03:05:28 PM
OOC: Wow you know what Dune is! Ok, here's the question. Is their picture from 1980's Dune, or the 2001 Sci-Ni series from Sci-Fi?

IC:

"Beer. An interesting name, with some interesting affects. On my planet we smoke Malaya grass, and it delivers a similar, if not amplified effect. Priests and monks use it in their meditations, and some youths use it for recreation, though that is frowned upon."

He stopped and listenned to the birds and animal chattering away, much like the jungles of his own world.

"Shora juice was my favorite on Shakra'Va. A bit of a flat, bittersweet taste. In the future I'll remember to avoid liquor."

He took in a deep breath and sighed, letting the air out slowly.

"But what of you, my Master? Tell me of yourself, for I'd rather learn from a familiar source than a cloudy figure."

Navaria Tarkin
Feb 7th, 2002, 03:07:35 PM
OOC~ It is from the 2001 Sic-Fi movie. I actually have to get going but I will edit this post with my IC reply later.

It's later ^_^

IC~ "Tell me of yourself ..."

Saying that was a loaded question was putting it mildly. She betrayed nothing but her eyes told a different tale. They were soft clear like the morning sky, but they also held wisdom which reached far beyond her twenty one cycles. That wisdom came with a terrible twisted price that would take too long to explain in one sitting.

Her eyes searched for a suitable place nearby and found a few scattering of large stones. She picked up her robes about her and sat down.

"Well, I've led a colorful life."

She pulled back her hood with two hands and her brown hair spilled about her shoulders.

"The Tarkin name was once feared throughout the galaxy during the height of the Rebellion but that came to an end at the Battle of Endor. I became a wandering with my mother and eventually found a home on Bakura."

Navaria tilted to her head to the side and gave Meyu a lopsided grin.

"Which explains my love for namana juice."

The softness in her eyes clouded as the jovial nature of the Knight subsided.

"I've been many things in my life unfortunately. Smuggler, slicer ..."

Meyu couldn't help but notice the long pause ...

"... Jedi. Too much to go into now without confusing you, if I've hadn't already. But I will say this. I know the face of what is good and that of evil. You will be prepared to face the alluring call of the Dark Side for your Master has had seen how tempting malicious that power is. I will do all that I can to help you face temptation but I cannot do it alone."

She laced her fingers together and waited for her pupil's response.

Ivychari Meyu
Feb 8th, 2002, 04:13:20 AM
Meyu watched her as she moved, his hands folded passively on his belly. Her long brown hair spilled out over her shoulders, and her blue eyes reflected the morning light like dew drops.

So beautiful, Meyu thought just like women back home..

Meyu listenned atentively as she talked about things he did not know, places he had not heard of and names unknown to him. He seemed tantalized by her. He felt a smile tug on his lips when she grinned, like a giggle rising up within him, and then felt very mournful when her mood got sadder.

Meyu felt that twinge within his chest again, a dark spasm of cruel desire to do horrible things to innocence, and his jaw clenched tight like a clamshell, the fine muscles in his cheeks tensing. He felt wave after wave of guilt pass through his body, and he held back the wetness he felt trying to negotiate passage from his eyes. Suddenly the morning felt colder than it was, colder than was comfortable even for him, and he looked out into the woods, trying to avoid eye contact.

He listenned to Navaria, his new Master, talk about the Dark Side, the Evil Side. She spoke of temptation and cruel power. Meyu took in a deep, long breath and tried to find his center again.

He nodded.

"I know, my Master. I will not fail you." His voice was only slightly strained.

Navaria Tarkin
Feb 9th, 2002, 01:33:52 AM
She felt it like a sharp knife digging into her chest trying to stop heart from beating. Her face grew serious as she focused on Meyu. The eyes that held such lightheartedness was quickly taken over by the cruel reality of the discussion.

He tried to be strong for her since this was his first day as a Padawan. Trying to show no fear before Navaria. Meyu's voice gave it away. True, it was only a small fluctuation in tone but it presented a greater truth hidden deep within ones psyche.

"You know what it is I speak of then? I can feel it inside you ... as it is within all of us."

Ivychari Meyu
Feb 9th, 2002, 01:46:32 AM
Meyu lowered his head, and he felt his chest begin to tighten.

"Yes my master. I have the Sickness."

He felt like running away. Thoughts flew through his mind. Voices, other people's voices, memories...

Lack of physical contact...

He just stays inside all day...

...always have your nose in those books...

HA HA nanananana.....

I just want to be left alone....

Just leave me alone.......

NOW! NOW! LEAVE LEAVE LEAVE

MOTHER! NO!!!!!!

His jaw clenched. He looked at Navaria, and he could feel Darkness rising up in him, the desire to kill and maim her. He didn't like it, and it brought him much guilt to think of it. There she was, trusting, so innocent, beautiful. She trusted him, and he could ruin it so easily, he could hurt her so easily. He felt almost like crying, like the time his father wanted to take him fishing, and waited for an hour outside while Meyu did something else.

"Master, there is something I need to tell you...the real reason why I joined the Jedi...my personal reason..."

Navaria Tarkin
Feb 9th, 2002, 02:00:36 AM
The Darkness around Meyu reached a powerful level as Navaria watched him drift into memories past. His emotions were so strong and full of anger ... easily led to the dark side he could be.

Then she saw it. Malice and utter animosity aimed in her direction. This was a delicate situation. Without any fear, nor any resentment towards her Padawan, the Knight sat there waiting for Meyu to go through the motions of what he was feeling ... just as she knew from the very beginning that there was more to his joining the Jedi then what he told her initially.

Her eyes became light once more and she spoke softly, encouraging Meyu to speak his mind ....

"Anything you say is between us. Master and Padawan Meyu."

Ivychari Meyu
Feb 9th, 2002, 02:12:20 AM
Meyu took a deep breath.

"My Master. I seek to purify my spirit. I seek healing. I seek self betterment, to help others and to see beyond myself. I seek warmth and acceptance. To cure myself of the Sickness. To resist the Dark Side."

He was breathing hard now, almost as if he were to break down in tears.

So hard...so alone..help...

Navaria Tarkin
Feb 9th, 2002, 02:27:07 AM
She quietly stood up and sat next to Meyu, placing an hand on his shoulder ... squeezing it gently. Navaria wasn't sure what his reaction would be to that, seeing that Meyu was from a different world, a different culture. She hoped that he would take it as the reassurance that Navaria felt he needed ...

"Meyu ..."

He was on the verge of tears and she felt her heart breaking.

".. what happened."

Ivychari Meyu
Feb 9th, 2002, 02:37:33 AM
Meyu's eyes shut tight as saline drops began to fall from them, running over his cheeks and disapearing into his cloak.

"I..."

He felt tears fall from his eyes and dissapear within his cloak. He shut his eyes and looked away, not wanting to be seen. He felt Navaria's hand on his shoulder. Touch. Touch...contact...He had not been touched in so delicate a manner in a very long time.

His Dark desires turned to pain and anguish within him, and feelings of worthlessness and self loathing. He licked his lips, he wanted to curl up inside of himself and dissapear.

Navaria Tarkin
Feb 10th, 2002, 12:46:10 AM
Navaria backed off, feeling the conflict within Meyu. She didn't want to push him further into despair and waited for her Padawan to pull himself together. It seemed, as with most who walked these halls, his life was tragic and he felt so much shame.

As she looked on with concern, Navaria was also contemplating about how to get him through this. If Meyu could not break this cycle of malice, hatred, loathing, and worthlessness ... never could he feel what the Force had to offer.

Her eyes lit up as something dawned on her.

"Meyu?"

When he didn't answer, she tried again with even more of gentle tone.

"Meyu? Please look at me."

Ivychari Meyu
Feb 10th, 2002, 01:20:27 AM
Meyu turns to face Navaria, and waits a moment. Slowly he raises his head just enough to look at her through narrowed eyes, his eyebrows knotted, his cheeks covered in dried rivers of tears, his energy for crying almost spent.

Navaria Tarkin
Feb 11th, 2002, 02:44:33 PM
Slowly Navaria slipped her hands inside Meyu's hood and pushed it off. Gently she brushed aside the strands of hair that had come loose and smiled.

"Close your eyes and clear your thoughts of everything. All the pain you feel, the loneliness and angry. Let it be washed away ... gently ... like the calm river."

Ivychari Meyu
Feb 11th, 2002, 05:35:31 PM
Meyu closed his eyes, not only because Navaria told him to, but also because the touch had slightly startled him. Noone had ever held his face before, and though her hands were much warmer than any he'd felt on Shakra'Va, it was still a weclome sensation.

He felt everything wash out of him at that simple contact. He felt as though her gaze was pushing everything outside of his body, and left only a warm fuzzy feeling inside of him. That feeling reached out to her, and brushed along her face. He could feel every single eyelash, and felt them move as the wind blew, and he could feel the moisture evaporating off her lips into the mid morning chill.

Mental gasp...and then a sigh, much like an animal that has an infected limb amputated after months of agony

"I...I feel something...Nav- Master...I feel something strange..."

Navaria Tarkin
Feb 11th, 2002, 05:44:37 PM
His mind began to be put at ease which then opened his mind to new sensations... The Force could now freely flow into him and change perspectives that he would otherwise not be aware of.

Thoughts that troubled her Padawan vanished and now something else had happened.

She removed her hand.

"You can call me Navaria, Meyu ... if you wish. Now tell me, what do you see?"

Ivychari Meyu
Feb 11th, 2002, 05:53:01 PM
Meyu's eyes are closed, but relaxed, his loose hair blows in the breeze, and his lips are slightly parted.

"I see..."

Thoughts were flooding into his mind. Images and feelings, mental associations.

"I see dew drops...and stones...and I see a tree...I see you, your eyelashes are moving in the wind...I can see....I can see the wind...it's pretty, and it ripples with a sort of wave that flows over everything...and I can see the moisture in the air...its almost like, a dull fog...I can see...a leaf, falling from the tree, like a green snowflake, falling to the eartha..."

He stands there for several minutes, images passing through his mind, becoming so fast he can't decipher them. He doesn't "see" these things so much as feel them in his mind, but they are vivid, and he can feel the bright light energy of the force pusling around him.

"Is that...is that the Force? That white stuff...?"

Navaria Tarkin
Feb 11th, 2002, 06:03:11 PM
"The Force shows itself to everyone differently. For you, that white stuff is it. It likes to show its presence in a way to not scare the Force user ... but you must be at calm and at peace in order to understand what it is saying."

Navaria pulled her hand away and rested them in her lap.

"What is the Force saying to you, Meyu?"

Ivychari Meyu
Feb 11th, 2002, 06:08:38 PM
Meyu shakes his head after a moment.

"I don't know...It's...vauge, and wavery."

He opens his eyes back up, and they show a youthful gleam he did not have before. The glow was more appropriate for his age.

"I remembered a lot of things. Things I didn't want to, and the Force showed me..."

He feels a cold shiver run through his chest, and looks at the ground.

Navaria Tarkin
Feb 11th, 2002, 06:14:56 PM
"The Force was showing you the past that you need to accept, otherwise you will never hear its call."

She stood up and walked closer to the jungle, trying to penetrate into the blackness that formed further in.

"We all have things we aren't proud of, Meyu. Every last one of us."

Her words seemed to linger in the air as an afterthought. Navaria had defeated her colorful past, but it was always there waiting to remind her of what she could have become ...

Ivychari Meyu
Feb 11th, 2002, 06:24:50 PM
Meyu stares at the ground, and the cold creeps up onto him, and thoughs begin to play in his tortured mind. He stares up at the sky, in deep thought, and a sense of overwhelming void and melancholy seems to hang in the air around him. Voices play in his head, memories.

Heha! Come on Ivy, its just this way...

Ivy..will you stay just a little longer...please?? "Alright.."

Ivy, I think you should have a girlfriend, one who's older than you, so she can take care of you. "I'm ok mom." All you do is stay inside and study..you know, that girl I saw you with the other day...she's pretty. "She's just a friend mom."

Ivy! What happaned to you?! Are you alright? "I'm ok...its just a scratch.." Ivy...what did he do to you?

Ivy...I want you to make a promise to me. Will you make a promise to me? "I don't know, what's the promise?" Just promise me ok? "Alright..." Promise me that one day, when I'm in trouble, you'll come and rescue me, ok? "What?" I want my hero to rescue me. I want to experience that at least once in my life. "I..." Please Ivy? "...promise."

Ivy come quick! Something's happened!

Ivy..you've..come to ...save me...

The final voice, that of a young girl, fades into the blackness that has clouded Meyu's vision of the Force. His hands have curled up into fists, and he stands dangerously close to being sucked in by the Dark Side, after openning up to the Force. Images blur his mind, dark and sinful. He tries to resist them, but in his mind the clear blue sky of Arcan IV has turned into a raging thunderstorm.

He stands there, staring blankly into the sky.

Navaria Tarkin
Feb 12th, 2002, 01:13:30 AM
Navaria turned around after feeling the sharp coldness of the DarkSide trying to lure Meyu away. She kneeled down before him, trying to get a glimpse of where her Padawan was. He just stared blankly as the memories over took him ... the pain and suffering leading him astray.

"Meyu?"

Nothing.

"Meyu can you hear me?"

Again there was nothing. Navaria reached out through the Force and touched his mind with hers. The coldness of his mind was felt throughout every bone in her body. It was her own strength and belief in the Force that protected her ... if this was a year ago... Navaria would have been easily sucked into the void that Meyu had created ...

Meyu ... you must listen to me. Follow my voice and trust in the Force. Calm your mind and push back these feelings and memories. I won't loose you ...

Ivychari Meyu
Feb 12th, 2002, 06:36:36 AM
Meyu knelt down near a tombstone. The name on the stone was blurry, and he could hardly read it. He sat there for some time, and the seasons changed around him. He got up and ran into a dark, dead forest, the image of the tombstone a backdrop to anything he saw, following him, haunting him.

He made it to a cleansing river, but when he tried to bathe himself, it was too late. The water burned his flesh and he was forced back. He ran around, his heartbeat increasing as his vision blurred, and laughter and insanity swirled around him.

"Meyu....Meyu..."

He swirled around, but the voice was lost in the ensueing chaos.

Will you promise me Ivy prompromprompromis me Ivy Ivy Ivy

Meyu clear your thoughts...

He dropped to his knees, and began to whimper. A familiar voice was calling him, a voice soft and delicate. He looked up, but he couldn't see anything. He closed his eyes, and openned his mind, and he could see a white path before him, and a string of white light connecting his heart to an expanse of white light on the other side of the forest. He stood up slowly, on wobbly legs.

Navaria Tarkin
Feb 13th, 2002, 12:20:22 AM
Meyu was still trying to fend off the darkness inside him and Navaria could feel the progress being made... but it wasn't enough. He had only found the path... He had yet to walk it.

Trust in the Force to guide you back to me.... Let go of yourself freely Meyu...

She let herself become his anchor, that spot in the Force in which he could sense and latch onto. Navaria would be his focal point, Meyu just needed to believe in himself...

Ivychari Meyu
Feb 13th, 2002, 11:15:34 AM
Meyu turned in the direction of Navaria's voice. He could see her eyes, desperate and blue. He looked back into the Darkness, and he stood on the line between Dark and Light.

He turned towards her, her brown hair flowed in the winds of the Force. She looked almost angelic, and wore a seethrough white dress, showing off her curves and delicate frame.

As if in drugged state, Meyu walked towards her, and finally reached his body. By the time he got there, he was so exhuasted, he feel into her arms, and passed out.

Navaria Tarkin
Feb 15th, 2002, 02:46:55 PM
Navaria was ready for Meyu as he grew limp before her. She could sense that the strain of what was going through his mind had depleted his strength so much, that his body was begging for rest.

Still kneeling on the ground, she gently brought him into her arms much like a mother her child. The lines of anger and pain were gone and it seemed... for once... that he was at peace.

A thin smile spread across her lips as her eyes were proud and full of hope.

"And so your journey truly begins, my Padawan."

She cupped her arms underneath Meyu's knees and back, letting his head rest of her shoulder. Navaria was a demure woman who should not be able to lift someone of her Padawan's size but with the Force, anything could be accomplished.

Strength flowed through her as she welcomed the Light within and carried her Padawan to the Living Quarters so he could regain his strength.

Ivychari Meyu
Feb 15th, 2002, 06:25:28 PM
Meyu openned his eyes slightly, and found himself to be in a comfortable bed, still wearing his robe. His saber was on a nightstand next to the bed, and Navaria was sitting in a chair, watching him.

He raised a hand to his head, and blinked, his eyes adjusting to the bright light of mid day on Arcan IV.

"What happened?"

Navaria Tarkin
Feb 18th, 2002, 01:35:58 AM
It had taken Meyu six hours for him to recover from the psychic battle that was waged in his mind. Navaria had both meditated and kept a watchful eye on her Padawan. She gently kept his mind peaceful and calm so he could get the rest that he had earned. It was the first test of many for Meyu, she gathered, but it was a good sign that the temptation of the Dark Side could be abated.

His eyes began to flutter open so Navaria slowly opened her's so that she could warmly bid him a ...

"Good afternoon."

... before he asked his question.

She stood up and began to pour a glass of water from the pitcher that rested on the nightstand.

"What do you remember?"

Ivychari Meyu
Feb 18th, 2002, 03:58:33 PM
Meyu closed his eyes and shook his head, his soft brown hair shifting a bit with his motion. He opens his eyes.

"I don't remember much...I remember your eyebrows...and I remember the wind...and then..."

His eyes stare off. Though his eyes have not moved, he is no longer looking at Navaria. A moment later he comes back.

"I remember falling. Falling through a dark place...and you caught me. Thankyou."

Navaria Tarkin
Feb 21st, 2002, 02:19:18 AM
She didn't say anything right away. First Navaria offered the cold glass of water to Meyu before sitting down, crossing her legs.

"I caught you literally Meyu. You were the one strong enough to follow me to the Light. That, you did on your own."

Ivychari Meyu
Feb 22nd, 2002, 06:40:30 PM
ooc: Sorry about the delay.
IC

Meyu takes the water and bows his head to her, and drinks it slowly.

"I did, didn't I?"

He thought for a moment, suddenly unsure of himself.

"Now what?"

Navaria Tarkin
Feb 23rd, 2002, 10:40:26 PM
OOC~ Phfft .. never worry about delays

IC~ "That depends on what you want to do next," she replied simply.

Ivychari Meyu
Feb 24th, 2002, 11:24:42 PM
Meyu looks up at her, and then down at the bed, and realizes the position he is in. He puts the glass on the table, and sits up, his legs drapped over the edge of the bed.

"How long was I out?"

Navaria Tarkin
Feb 25th, 2002, 03:01:42 PM
She thought about it for a moment...

"Hmm ... I'd say about five hours."

Navaria's demeanor shifted so that Meyu could see reassurance in her eyes.

"It could have been much worse."

Ivychari Meyu
Feb 25th, 2002, 06:50:59 PM
"Is it usually like this?"

Navaria Tarkin
Feb 26th, 2002, 12:55:54 AM
"Everyone has demons to confront. Some have it easier then others but all in all, everyone has to find their strengths in order to not be swayed by the Dark Side."

A touch of sadness reflected in her eyes.

"But perhaps I pushed you too much. I could feel how much it affected you just by a simple touch of reassurance."

Ivychari Meyu
Feb 26th, 2002, 05:26:30 PM
"It's alright, Navaria. I'm fine now."

Meyu looked around the room a bit and frowned.

"But now that we've completed the first day, what shall I do?"

Navaria Tarkin
Feb 28th, 2002, 01:23:54 AM
She stood up and offered Meyu a hand.

"How about a late lunch and a different type of lesson at the Bar and Grill?"

Ivychari Meyu
Feb 28th, 2002, 05:52:22 PM
Meyu nodded.

OOC: Meet you there. BTW, this shall be known as the month long day. lol

Navaria Tarkin
Mar 3rd, 2002, 08:00:16 PM
"Good...."

She lifted him up and her eyes sparkled as Navaria looked up at Meyu.

"Follow me." (http://pub56.ezboard.com/fgjofrm2.showMessage?topicID=1630.topic)
