Kaman enters the training ground. It has been some time since she has trained under her master, Nichos Marr. Her travels of the past while consisted of meditation on the Force, keeping her skills in check, and...a funeral. But all was good now. She now waits for Nichos to arrive.

Nichos entered the training grounds as he had done many times before. The Jedi took a deep breath, relishing the fresh air that he hadn't experienced in a while. His travels had taken him away from the Jedi Order and to far off places. Rarely did he ever venture back to Yavin IV to spend time at the Order. The planets that Nichos had been on were mostly industrialized ones, which had been polluted by the constant use of machinery. He had learned to cope, but it was an unexpected pleasure to breath fresh air.

"Kaman," Nichos angled his way toward his apprentice. He hadn't seen her in months, "It's great to see you again." Nichos stopped before her and bowed his head formally as some Jedi did. He was dressed in the usual robes, due to his penchant for tradition. Nichos rarely wore robes unless he was on strictly Jedi business.

His apprentice, Kaman Jeris Deliai had left the Jedi Order months ago for a short period of time. Nichos could feel her presence in the Force, stronger then he last remembered. The Jedi Knight imagined that since her departure she had become more attuned to the Force. He hadn't taught her a lot in the short time that he had trained her, but Kaman had learned enough to practice meditation and ensure a healthy Force growth.

"How are you? I trust you are eager and prepared to continue training?" Nichos gave her a confident smile. He was wondering what his Padawan had on her mind, and what she had done in the past few months.

Kaman looks at Nichos. She bowed in return, and smiled.

"I am most eager, Nichos. I am sorry for having being gone so long...it was, well, important business."

Nichos noticed that Kaman seemed rather reluctant to talk about this important business. He had hoped it was not anything bad, that would affect her training. The Jedi knew that if it was something really important she would tell him sooner or later. Sometimes it was better to get things out in the open rather keep them all bottled up inside. Nichos had learned that lesson the hard way, many times. Fortunately he made it through each time. Nichos wasn't Corellian but he did not believe in luck, only the Force.

He opened his mind to the Force, like a dam opening up to allow water through. Instantly he felt a number of lifeforms just outside the training area. Some were those familiar lifeforms of the other Knights and trainees, while others were no bigger then insects. Even farther, he could feel the lifeforms of those in Temple Avalon. Nichos knew that if he paid full devotion toward meditation, the Universe would open itself up to him. The Jedi had managed to sense beings light years away, but only a few times.

"Do you want to talk about it Kaman?" Nichos asked, leveling his brown eyes with his apprentice. "There's no need to be sorry, sometimes it's best to solve your other problems before commiting yourself to something as serious as the Jedi order."

Kaman swallowed. She opened her mouth to start speaking, then stopped. She sighed, then started speaking

"I...I felt him die, Nichos. I felt Sarrin die. He was the director of Special ops for many years, and my guardian. I had to go. It was the one thing I had left to do in that world. That when his spirit was to move on, I would be there to make sure preparations were made for his funeral, and that I myself would hand out directions to all the members of ops. They all have been sent on one man missions. The last missions of ShadowOps. I know what those missions entail. They will each find happiness at the end. He gave me no direction. I already found mine right here. He gave me one thing before I returned here. It was a letter. It's in my room. I haven't read it yet. He said I would know when I could read it."

The 18 year old woman was smiling when she finished.

"Nichos. I'm done. Where shall we start with this?"

"I'm sorry to hear of your friend and leader's departure, Kaman. No doubt he was a good man, and treated his commandos well. But now he is one with the Force, I am sure of it." Nichos gave his padawan a reassuring smile. He remembered what it had felt with during his father's death, the feeling was unpleasant. Nichos could also feel Kaman's confidence bounce back at him. Emotions were what made one susceptible to the Dark Side of the Force, but the Jedi could tell that his apprentice was going to be fine.

"I also have noted that your attunement with the Force has grown considerably. It takes a great amount of control to sense someone that is dying, but if you are close to them, you will feel it. Disturbances in the Force do not come often, but it is our job to make sure they don't come at all. Remeber Alderaan and Carida."

The Jedi cleared his throat and reached into his robe. He pulled out a remote control and polished the front of it. It was the activation switch for training droids. These droids had been programmed with the help of Nichos' mechanic friends at the shipyard. Their weapon emplacements were only strong enough to give someone a bad rash. The laser bolts were toned down considerably, and would only sting momentarily if one had been hit.

"This is a training exercise that will mainly involve your agility and use of the Force. The Force can help increase agility and make us do extraordinary things. This training droids will be taking pot shots at you, and it is your job to avoid as many as possible. Do not worry, since these droids cannot hurt you at all." Nichos pressed the button. "You may begin, and may the Force be with you."

He stood back, among one of the room's many secluded corners. Three droids ranging from 5 to 6 feet tall entered the training area. They all stared at Kaman, balancing her picture out in their optical sensors. Nichos watched attentively.

Kaman awaits the droid attack. She opens herself up to the force...

Both droids advanced at similar speed, except for the fact that they were approaching the Jedi apprentice from both sides. They had been crafted out of spare ship parts and anything that the Jedi Knight could find around the shipyards, but their work was efficient. The droids were controlled by a remote switch that would automatically shut them off, should something go awry. Nichos could not see that happening, since he had taken all the safety precautions when building these training machines.

One jumped high and raised his blaster in the air. It swung low and pointed the blaster at Kaman. The other darted to the side with excellent speed and response time. It held out both hands like a professional and also pointed his blaster at the Jedi Padawan. Kaman was cornered by the two droids, a situation that would be tricky to get out of. Nichos had faith that she could do it easily, though.

The Jedi Knight watched from the side in great interest. He felt Kaman had opened herself to the Force, this was good. Silently he watched as the droids released the toned down laserfire at Kaman...

Aware of each shot barreling towards her, Kaman vaults herself speedily out of her cornered situation, jumping through the space between the droids, after making sure there was a space there where the droids had not shot. Surely if they had, they would have been shooting at each other. Kaman shoulder rolled and positioned herself at the ready. Her mind had in it the image of a lone ranger, his fingers wiggling as he prepared to snap out his weapon. She gathered the possible need for her own weapon, but did not put it in priority. Then realization hit...

Rats...she thought..I haven't built a new one yet.
I lost my mother's during the death of my team...

Nonetheless, as the droids zipped around, she readied herself for the next onslaught of fire...

Both droids had examined the young woman's fighting style and instilled it within their memory banks for future reference. She was skilled, and had evaded the first attack, but things were just warming up. The droids were programmed to increase their speed and accuracy, each time the young woman managed to dodge an attack. Their difficulty setting was being controlled by Nichos, who was off to the side, watching Kaman. Both droids realized she did not have a weapon, at hand. This would make the game much more interesting.

The droid on the left swooped around and unleashed a salvo of laserfire at Kaman. Instinctively, she felt his attack through the Force, and dodged it. The other droid was slowly making his way toward the Jedi padawan. He stomped on the floor, rifle up and ready for attack. The droid pointed it at her and shot, twice. Kaman rolled to the side, and let the blaster bolts harmlessly bounce off the floor. This had been enough to distract her, while the second droid bodychecked her from the side and knocked her to the floor.

Both droids pointed their blasters at her, ready to shoot. They were obviously waiting for her to make the first move. Nichos, off to the side wondered if Kaman would be able to escape their entrapment without being hit once. It would be interesting to see what she had learned during her time away.

~ The Force is with you Kaman! ~

He hoped she had heard his message.

Kaman, lying on her back, both droids towering over her feet and legs, assessed her situation for a millionth of a second. With her hands planted firmly on the ground below her back, the arms slightly bent, she did not hesitate to make her move, for she knew if she waited, perhaps her eyes or body language might give her away. From her current position, she backflipped, and landed, blaster bolts following her movements every inch of the way, being millimetres short of their targets backside. She jumped off in the direction of the droids, flipping towards them, landing momentarily on the head of the one to her right, sideflipping to jump on the other, then landing a few metres behind them. Kaman took a calm breath, and kept her eyes pinned on every somall movement the droids would make as they turned around, powering to a harsher attack. Having their heads jumped on had probably baffled them a bit...Kaman waited, known this wait would be just as short. She assessed her situation, prepared to use one of many outcomes..

Nichos was tempted to end the training program, after he'd seen Kaman escape her entrapment so gracefully. Instead, he stopped his hand from pressing the button on the remote. He would allow the droids one last attack on Kaman, and if she managed to best them once more, he would stop the exercize. So far, she'd proven herself to be quite skilled and agile when it came to dodging enemy bolts. He couldn't recall seeing worry on her face once, just hard determination. This was a good sign for Kaman Jeris Deliai.

The droids raced toward Kaman and shot again, but she dodged it. One of them raced to her side and tried to kick her, but again Kaman bested the machine. The other was waiting silently, preferring not to move, as it's brother fought the Jedi Padawan. The droid fighting Kaman threw his blaster away and punched at her, just as soon as she got up. The punch was intended to miss and lure Kaman back a few steps, and that's just what it did.

The other droid was there, ready and waiting. It clasped both of Kaman's arms and held them securely behind her back. She was now trapped, while the other droid picked up its blaster. It pointed the blaster at Kaman's chest, who was being held tightly.

The droid with the gun released a series of bolts at the Jedi Padawan.

Gathering a good amount of strength from the Force, Kaman pushed backwards, using her feet to thrust herself into the droid holding her. The bolts just barely passed over her body as she and the droid fell. Kaman could feel their heat as they passed her body. The droid crashed to the ground, her laying with her back against its body. Kaman threw herself to the right, the droid's grip already loosened after the shock she gave it, and the droid rolled with her and flew from her, well airborne, across the room. She heard the thud of the droid elsewhere. Kaman stood and barely even paused before she started to run a few close circles around the standing droid, and its shots followed close behind her. Stopping in her run, Kaman changed directions and did a flying slide, slamming her feet into the droids back, sending it flying to the ground on its face. She flipped from there to a standing position a few feet from the fallen droid's head. She looked at her master, then at the droid, awaiting any further attack...

"Hmm...Master, what are your thoughts? I'll accept any criticism."

Nichos Marr

"Well I'm sorry to disappoint you Kaman, but I have no criticism to give." The Jedi keyed the controls and shut the program down. The droid that Kaman had been fighting simply lost all life that it once possessed and shut down. The red glint in its optical sensors died away in the matter of a few seconds.

The Jedi Knight made his way onto the training arena, with the controls still clenched in his left hand. Before he reached Kaman, he motioned with his hand. Through manipulation of the Force, the droids slid away from the middle area and to the corners of the training center. The Jedi would send them in for repairs later on. Now he was only concerned with continuing the training of Kaman.

Nichos Marr stood before her with a grin evident on his face, "Your fight with the droids proved that you are more than a capable fighter. By using the Force and your own techniques and abilities, you succeeded my expectations. Congratulations." Suddenly, his face took on that of a mocking sterness. "But don't let all that praise get to your head. Too much pride is very dangerous and can sometimes be interpreted as dwelling in the Dark Side."

The Jedi turned his back and motioned for Kaman to walk with him through the area. Walking would allow her a few moments to catch her breath.

"Although, I think you already know that." He passed through the doors of the area that led them to the outer halls of the training praxeum. The Jedi Knight turned his head slightly to the side every time he spoke to his apprentice.

"Before we continue with training, could you recite to me all that you've learned so far?" He inquired. "And possibly what you hope to learn?"

Kaman Deliai

"I have learned to always be ready for anything, but not to depend too heavily on the Force. To assess my situation from many points of view, because there will almost always be a way out. That the Jedi do not put up an offense as much as a defense, for we are defenders. That anger is a dangerous tool, and it leads very well to becoming everything that the Jedi are not."

Kaman looks at Nichos, and smiles.

"I hope to learn things that I do not know, to enhance skills that I already have access to, and to unlock those that I have not touched."

She catches up to Nichos after lagging behind, being caught in her own thoughts...

"Have I told you about my plans for a new lightsaber? I don't think I have. Finally, after much searching, I have the exact parts the plans indicate. It'll be great to have a lightsaber after my old one died..."

She laughs...

"When I say old, I mean old. It belonged to the first Jedi of my family line. I had known it would die. And it did, during my last mission before I came here...But finally...I can start the work."

Kaman looks at Nichos questioningly...

"So, what's next? Have anything in mind?"
