View Full Version : Where You Belong (Xion Darksun)
Navaria Tarkin
Feb 24th, 2002, 08:45:45 PM
It was a day most like any other day on Yavin. There was heavy rainfall during the night which left everyone today being greeting by the morning humidity. Bones felt achy and a feeling of lightheadedness kept those not used to the climate in bed.
Navaria was quite used to it by this time. Yavin was her home for two cycles and such mornings were expected. Now being a Jedi, she could easily draw upon the Force to ease the general discomfort but why? One didn't need to use the Force as a crutch and with exercise and morning meditation, it was easy for this Tarkin to ignore the depleting effects of Yavin with her own physical endurance.
So here she sat late in the morning, in one of her favorite spots in the jungle. It was a small clearing about twenty feet in diameter that held no trees but was rich in fauna. The river wasn't too far off to the North where Navaria herself had found a few good fishing spots.
This place was very majesty and pristine. Pure and perfect. It was a special place that she held in her heart and mind for personal reason that maybe one day, when it was time, she could show Sanis this place ...
As she worked on her sabre, those thoughts brought a cheerful smile. It was only a routine maintenance and Navaria wanted to do a few diagnostics before her Padawan arrived. She wasn't that deep in the forest so it would be a good test for Xion to find her and it gave her some time for reflection as well as a little grease work ...
With senses extended all around her, Navaria continued to sit crosslegged on the ground, fiddling with her partially opened sabre ...

Xion walked into the jungle. He could sense the presence of his master somewhere nearby. Since he could use the Force on a basic level, he opened his senses to it and searched for her. He felt her presence several yards in and headed that way. He came upon what looked to be a dead end. Pushing several branches out of his way, he stepped into a clearing. He then spotted Navaria sitting cross legged on the ground. He approached her and bowed respectfully.
I sensed you through the Force and knew that my training was to start at this hour, Master.
He said softly with a smile.

OOC~ If you have any questions, you can find me on AIM sometimes or you can private message me by following the link of my name to my profile.
Also, if you would like a sig let me know and I can hook you up with someone =)
IC~ Navaria looked up from her work and smiled, squinting her eyes at Xion. Her Padawan had happened to find a bright spot.
"Good morning to you, Xion."
She pointed out a spot in front of her with part of her sabre's metal casing.
"Please sit and tell me how was your first day at the Order."
Turning back to her sabre, she started fiddling again with some wires as Navaria waited patiently for him to speak.

Xion smiled as he took a seat on the ground in front of Navaria. She was toying with what he recognized as a lightsaber.
My day was wonderful, Master. Everyone here at the Order is so nice and friendly. Unlike where I am from, I was greeted warmly everywhere I went.
He said as he inquisitivly watched her work on the saber.

Finally she worked the two wires back inside and started to close up the casing.
"Good. I'm glad to hear that."
She worked at the metal case with a smile at Xion.
"So, tell me something ..."
Her lips pursed together.
"Like ... your thoughts about the Force and what it means to you. I sensed that you know how to tap into it a little while looking for me."

The Force is what binds all living things together. It surrounds us and is everywhere. It is what gives the Jedi guidance and allows them to do good things and bring justice to the galaxy, Master.
He said, quite confident in his answer.

Feb 28th, 2002, 01:25:57 AM
"Ah ... this is true."
Finally the sabre was back in one piece and Navaria turned her arm away from Xion.
"But how does it give the Jedi its power."
She looked away and watched as her sabre sprung to life with a snap-hiss. The lightblue blade hummed quietly in the air.

Xion was fascinated by her lightsaber, but focused to stay concentrated on the question put before him.
The Jedi and the Force are one. It is like a symbian relationship. The Force dwells within the spirit of the Jedi and they harness it for multiple purposes.
He said with a smile as he watched her toy with the saber some more.

"The power of a Jedi comes from being at peace. A quiet mind is needed in order to hear the Force and then a Jedi can use the Force for healing, defense, meditation, and mediation."
She thumbed the sabre off and clipped it to her belt.
"Now I would like you to that. Quite your mind and freely let the Force flow in and out of you. Let no stray thoughts hinder your connection to it."

Xion nodded and then closed his eyes. He cleared his mind of everything and thought of nothing. He then felt the Force wash over him like a river. It was a familiar feeling to him, for he had done it before in some previous training. Now he felt nothing and thought of nothing........the only thing he knew was the Force. His soul was directly connected to it.......now they were one as he bathed in it.

OOC~ I have been very sick, sorry about that. I am slowly getting back into everything I'll post a link about a sig next time ^_^
IC~ The brunette extended her senses and too felt what Xion felt. The Force. The simple and yet intricate web of life that every Jedi wished to understand and become one with.
Xion's mind was clearer then a sky that held no clouds and he felt his Master's mind touch his.
Good... now as the Force flows into you... what do you here it say?
Xion Darksun
Mar 14th, 2002, 11:37:59 PM
Xion smiled slightly and then spoke. He spoke not verbally.......but used the Force since he was already bathed in it.
Master, it speaks to me about a strength found within.........about a true love and kindness for all.........about never giving up..........it speaks to me of peace.......
He closed his eyes and fell deeper into the Force, as if in a deep pool of water. It was amazing to him.....
ooc: It's okay, I hope you feel better! That's cool about the sig.....

OOC~ pub56.ezboard.com/fgjofrm19 (http://pub56.ezboard.com/fgjofrm19)
there are peeps there that can help ya ^__^
IC~ Ever present was his Master though he couldn't tell where she was exactly... it seemed that she was everywhere and no where at once as the Force clung to him like wet clothing. He truly was being bathed within its power.
Gently, so that there was no way of Xion knowing what she was doing, Navaria entrenched herself deeper into her Padawan's mind.
Go deeper... within yourself and let the Force guide you...
There was a lengthy pause.
... what is it that it wants you to see?
Xion Darksun
Mar 15th, 2002, 05:39:21 PM
Xion went deeper into the Force. Now it felt like nothing outside existed......all he could feel was this power engulfing his whole being. He was extremely deep in a strange conscious meditative state right now.....it felt.....different to him. He heard his Master's words echo through his mind.
What is it that it wants me to see............you?
He questioned through the Force. Feeling through the Force, he could sense his Master's presence in his mind. He smiled inwardly as he hoped in his heart that his answer was correct.

Yes and no. The Force binds all living things together so in a sense you are right. You are to see me but more importantly this is the state that your minds need to be in to use the Force. Quiet, peaceful, and calm. No thoughts to cloud your judgement when you need to call upon its power to aid you.
There was another paused and then Xion started to feel that Navaria was leaving him.
Never worry that your answers are wrong or not. Even in mistakes, we learn and when we learn, we grow wiser.

Mar 20th, 2002, 12:25:34 AM
Xion paid close attention to everything that Navaria said.
Yes, Master. I shall be mindful of that.
He replied through the Force. Still bathed in it in totally, he felt totally at peace.......his heart, soul, and mind was so calmed that nothing could bother him...

Now, I want you to come back to me. In the real world so to speak, but keep your focus and stay within the Force like this.
No speaking with your mind. Only communicate by the words that come out of your mouth. Be mindful that speaking and keeping your mind peacefull is not as easy as it sounds...

Mar 22nd, 2002, 11:31:28 PM
Xion opened his eyes and looked at Navaria, trying to stay completely bathed in the Force. With much concentration, he did so. Smiling, he spoke verbally now.....his voice softly accented something English.
Yes Master, I shall do as you say and use my regular speech.
She was right, it was difficult to concentrate on the Force and speaking. Then he thought of something, he would just not think! This felt easier to him. He was completely one with the Force, yet he could keep his "reality" focused. He remembered this from previous training, and it was slowly coming back to him. He smiled and looked back at Navaria after looking at the ground for a brief moment.
Master, why is it that we have the potential to be powerful beings......with help from the Force, yet the Sith always seem to outdo us in everything?
It was a sudden question, but it was heavy on his heart and he thought it appropriate to ask his Master.....

Her blue eyes betrayed a touch of sadness when Xion asked his question. It wasn't he that caused such a small shift in her demeanor, it was just the memories that were forced to surface... and as Xion was taught, Navaria pushed those memories away until her head was clear, and only then did the Knight open up her eyes.
"It isn't that the Sith out do us, my Padawan. They rely on the Dark Side. It's destructive capabilities come quick to those it ensnares and quickly a Dark Sider gains abilities.
They also aren't taught the proper way of channeling the Force so their bodies break down at a faster rate. Which is why as they grow older, their skin turns pale and their eyes glaze over yellow. The Dark Side feeds off their emotions where the Force... the one true Force, works with a Force user that is calm and at peace. Gently guiding a Jedi to greater enlightenment."

Apr 2nd, 2002, 11:36:36 PM
Xion bowed his head slightly, noticing the look in his Master's eyes. He hoped that he had not brought this sadness on her.....it was only a question that had rested on his heart for a long time.
I understand, Master.....
He replied softly, hoping that the uncomfortable moment would pass quickly....

Apr 2nd, 2002, 11:57:43 PM
"Come now, Xion."
Navaria lips curled together in an inviting smile.
"There needs to be no secrets from us. What is troubling you besides the question you asked."
Xion Darksun
Apr 3rd, 2002, 12:16:44 AM
Xion sighed and dropped his head.
Master.......you would not understand......
He brushed his long blonde hair out of his face and then looked up at Navaria. She smiled warmly and he knew he could not keep everything from her.
I failed my father.....so I came here. Actually......my father is dead and it is because of me. I lied when I previously told my story. My father was killed because I was being irresponsible. It was a Sith that killed him too.......that is why I asked my question. My mother cried for weeks....and there was nothing I could do for her. I tried....but it was no use. She then told me one day, "If you want to do something right for a change, go help people.....". Her words hit home, Master......and I decided that the only way I could help people was to become a Jedi. It was always in my heart.....but I was blinded to the fact......I blinded myself. A few days ago.....I recieved a comm message that my mother had died....
A tear slipped from his eye, though he tried to look manly......the eighteen year old could not hide his sorrow. He wiped it away with the back of his wrist and sighed to himself.
The medical team said that there was nothing wrong with her except for a broken heart.....and it is all my fault. I was supposed to be home when it happened......but I was out with some friends....getting drunk. My mother was out looking for me and the Sith came and burned down our house. From what I heard, my father tried to fight them....but it was no use, and they killed him anyway......
Again, another tear slipped from his eye. He scolded himself mentally for acting so childish.

Apr 3rd, 2002, 12:53:20 AM
Navaria reached out and wiped away the tear that had fallen down Xion's cheek.
"There was no need to lie but that is one hurdle you have overcome."
Her hand came to rest on his shoulder.
"And you are not acting childish."
Considering that Navaria and Xion had shared a small connection when they were bathed in the Force, some of that after affect was still lingering. She could easily feel the powerful emotions of grief, sorrow of failure, coming from him.
"Death comes at the worst times. You cannot control it. If you were there, you would have died. Then your family would not live on in you."
Xion felt a hand under his chin and found himself looking into the soft blue eyes of his Master.
"And in that regard, we are alike. I am a survivor. The last of my family. In time, you will understand that and accept that of yourself."
Xion Darksun
Apr 17th, 2002, 11:58:24 AM
Xion was comforted by his Master. He smiled and his eyes lit up for a moment with a new hope.
Yes...you are right...but it is most difficult...
He said, still feeling saddened by the events of his past. Though, this was a new life and he would be able to start over once again.
Navaria Tarkin
Apr 17th, 2002, 12:35:32 PM
"Yes ... it is."
There was only so much they could work on with Xion's past. His feelings for his family were rightfully strong and it would take time for Xion to come to a complete understanding.
"... clear your mind now. Let's see how well your lesson in channeling went. I was preparing your mind for that task. A Jedi strength comes from the Force flowing freely through their body ... with that, many possibilities can happen."
Navaria began to lift off the ground, still in a sitting position.
"All it takes is a calm and peaceful mind and trust in the Force."
Xion Darksun
Apr 19th, 2002, 12:06:30 PM
Xion was confident and he smiled. Closing his eyes he focused joy and peace in his mind.....then felt something that he had only felt once before in his life. It was definatly the Force. He was not skilled enough to lift himself off the ground just yet, but he continued to fall deeper into the Force.
Master....I think I did it....I feel incredible.
He said softly, but he had to keep quiet or he would loose his concentration and fall out of the Force.
Navaria Tarkin
Apr 21st, 2002, 01:39:10 PM
"Let go of your conscious self ... I can feel it holding you back. You think you cannot do what I can do because you have no skill?"
Navaria paused momentarily as she returned to the ground.
"Skill is only part of the entire picture ... you need to trust the Force completely ... let ... go ..."
Xion Darksun
Apr 23rd, 2002, 11:34:53 AM
Xion nodded and let go, as she said. It was easier than he had previously thought. After focusing on the Force, he bathed himself completely in it. Soon....he too rose off the ground and hovered a foot above it. The feeling was incredible, and he couldn't descirbe it. Not wishing to spoil the moment, he kept quiet and stayed in the peacefully state.
Navaria Tarkin
Apr 23rd, 2002, 02:16:45 PM
"Good. Very good. Keep your focus and use my voice as an anchor to keep you stable."
Navaria felt that Xion was keeping his control around his body. That was also good but he needed to try and expand his senses further.
"While keeping yourself afloat, let your senses extend across the landscape inch by inch. Let them run free as you did before. Listen to the sounds you normally wouldn't hear ... listen to the sounds of the Force of follow its calling."
Xion Darksun
Apr 23rd, 2002, 02:23:06 PM
Xion listened to his Master's voice. He understood and did what she was telling him. He smiled slightly as he rose a few more inches off the ground, expanding his senses further than what he had before. He could feel many lifeforms and things all around him. It was something he would definatly need to get used to and perfect.
Master...there are so many things around me that I can feel. How come my concentration allows this and levitation without faltering?
He did not fully understand this, and needed time to try to comprehend it. He had never thought of doing more than one thing at a time while doing something so....deep in the Force. It was all very new to him, and it had almost a strange feeling to it....
Navaria Tarkin
Apr 23rd, 2002, 02:39:11 PM
"If you could not clear your mind and believe in yourself and the Force to be a guide, none of this is possible. Stray thoughts and emotions can hinder a Jedi's ability to sense the Force.
When you are at peace, calm and centered ... anything is possible because you are channeling the energy of the Force into you and then outwards. It is what makes you float, what makes you sense me and other beings. A Jedi must channel the Force to gain in strength.
I was trying to get you to this point slowly through these questions and techniques in mediation. What you are doing now is the building blocks to learn other abilities ..."
Xion Darksun
Apr 23rd, 2002, 02:44:56 PM
Xion shook his head with a smile.
I understand Master. Now with practice, I will be able to do many things because I can channel the Force. I can do this...and I am a Jedi. Now I will use my abilities to help others as I see is my purpose. Yes, now I understand.
He said confidently.
That is why you asked me what the Force is. It connects and binds us all, that is why I can stay floating, yet feel the presence of everything all around me!
He exclaimed as he continued floating above the ground.
Navaria Tarkin
Apr 23rd, 2002, 03:00:27 PM
"Yes... now you are understanding but be warned. This is not an easy task. Becoming a Jedi. Things may seem perfectly clear now... but they won't always. Always a Jedi is mindful of their surroundings and their feelings. If not, they could be lost to the Dark Side of the Force."
Xion Darksun
Apr 26th, 2002, 06:51:09 PM
Xion smiled slightly and nodded.
Yes Master, I understand. I did not expect that this life be an easy one for me. I knew that challenge of the path that laid before me before I set foot on it. Yes, things will become difficult...but I shall learn and I shall be faithful to myself, you, the Force....and this Jedi Order......
He said with a confident smile.
Navaria Tarkin
Apr 27th, 2002, 11:42:46 PM
"I know you will do your best."
With that, Navaria stood up and looked around.
"A run perhaps?"
She smiled and looked back at Xion.
"I think it is almost time for lunch. Much time has passed since you came out here and a Jedi is physically fit as well as mentally."
Xion Darksun
Apr 29th, 2002, 01:12:39 PM
Xion nodded and smiled as he rose to his feet. He followed after his master.
Yes Master, a run would be great!
He called after her. Yes, it was a known fact that a Jedi had to be physically as well as mentally fit. He loved running and this would be good for him, now that he actually had time to do so...
Navaria Tarkin
Apr 30th, 2002, 10:49:28 PM
Navaria only had started to walk briskly before she heard Xion's enthusiastic call after her. Now all bets were off.
"Excellent ..."
She turned her head to look at her Padawan over her shoulder with a half grin.
"... you're going to have to catch me. Remember what we said thus far.."
And with that being said, he watched as Navaria ran off in an almost blur... already starting with an incredible lead ...
