Self Training of MxPx

[MxPx]

MxPx walked into a large room, solid metal, except for a small computer in the corner. From that computer he could load almost any visual image he wanted to in the room, and train until he could hardly move. And that was just his plan. But first, he needed a lightsaber. He had done a lot of reading (when he wasnt thinking about his arrival) on his way to the Order, and MxPx knew how to make a light saber. He put down his bag and pulled out a few pieces of metal and a crystal from his home planet. It was harder than diamond, and as clear as newly cleaned glass. He put the crystal down and started working on the hilt of the saber. He had a visual image of what it should look like, and from that he created a cylinder-shaped object. It was black and silver, with a small button. He inserted the crystal into the correct spot, and pushed the button in. He expected to see a white beam leap out, but to his disappointment, nothing happened. MxPx took the hilt back apart, and found his problem. There was a wire that had been disconnected. He quickly fixed the problem, rebuilt the saber, and inserted the crystal once again. This time, to MxPx's satisfaction, a clearish-white light flew out of the hole at the top of the cylinder. MxPx was very proud of himself. He twirled the saber around in his hands, and started play fighting. One day he would be the greatest duelist in the world. But to be that, he needed training...

MxPx picked up his bag and the scrap pieces of metal and carried them over beside the computer. He sat them down, and started typing furiously at the keyboard. The plain grey walls turned into a line of trees. Shrubs and wild animals were everywhere. Of course none of this was real, but the training programs at the Academy were so advanced, they could trick the programmer who created them. MxPx set the difficulty to easy, and reached out with the Force. He could sense something drawing nearer, but his minor understanding on the control of the Force prevented him of determining what and where exactly this thing was. Then, a large wookie type animal leaped out from the bushed behind MxPx. He quickly ignited his newly crafted saber and made quick work of the beast. It was not by reflex or the Force, but by fear and eagerness. He calmed down, and tried to reach out further with the Force. He sensed another thing coming....this time he knew where it was. He looked up just in time to see a giant bird dive for his head. MxPx thrust the top of his saber upwords, sticking it straight through the bird's throat. But then something caught him off guard. MxPx looked down to see a two headed snake wrap around his legs and trip him. He fell on his face, but cut one of the heads off before hitting th ground. He rolled out of the way just before the other bit his nose off. He leaped through the air, landing behind the snake, and kicked it in the head, clearly killing it. MxPx squatted down, losing his control over the Force, thinking that the first step of training was over. As he was getting up, a large lion-type animal jumped on his back. He dropped his saber, and had to use his hands. He wrapped one hand around the animal's neck, and tried to defend himself with the other. Though he had a vague understanding of the Force, he managed to call his light saber back to him. MxPx caught it in his hand and slashed the animal's stomach open. Guts fell out all over him, but he didnt notice. Another of the beasts was coming straight at him. This one wasnt slowing down either. It had to have been going over 100 miles per hour. MxPx leaped up and grabbed hold of a tree branch. He then leaped at the animal with his saber behind his back, and just before he landed he pulled it around and chopped the beast's head in half. A piece of the brain fell on MxPx's foot. Then a man's voice came on from a speaker in the top right corner of the room.

The Voice: "You have successfully completed the easy difficulty level in phase 1 of light saber training. Come back tomorrow and try the medium difficulty."

MxPx de-ignited his saber, clipped it to his belt, grabbed his bag, and warily exited the building.

Early the next morning MxPx got dressed and hurried to the building he had been the day before. He had his lightsaber attached to his belt, and he was ready to begin. He made his way across the room to the computer, and set it to phase 1, medium difficulty. It would be the same surroudings as the day before, but more animals. These would be harder too. But MxPx figured he was ready. He pressed the button to initiate the transformation of the room. Soon he was back in the "friendly" forest that he had been in the day before. He unclipped his light saber, ignited it, and reached out for the Force. It was there, and he accepted its entrance into his body. Soon it was flowing through him, controlling his every move and thought. He heard something coming...or he thought he heard. It was really a signal from the Force, notifying him of a coming intruder. All of a sudden the ground under MxPx's feet started shaking, and a large worm type animal shot out. It jumped at his face, but he dodged out of the way. MxPx spun around and slashed down at the worm. It cut off his head, but suddenly another worm crawled out of the bloody hole. It was smaller, but much quicker. It dodged all of MxPx's swings, and brought him to the ground more than once. He finally managed to kick it in the face, and stick the saber through it while stunned. The victory was shortlived, however, because he felt a pain in his left leg. A small rat-like animal had bitten him right under the knee cap, on the backside of his leg. MxPx stepped on the rodent and watched as the brains squished out of the head. He kind of felt sorry for the rat, but there was no time for that, because a large beast similar to the wookie type animal the day before leaped down from a tree. It was a good 15" tall, and easily 1500 lbs. It grabbed him by the neck and threw him against a tree. MxPx quickly regained his standing position, only to be speared by the beast. He couldnt take much more of this. The animal was up in another tree, about to jump down and land on him. He timed his roll just right. As soon as the beast jumped, MxPx rolled out of the way, jumped to his feet, and thrust downwards with his saber. It caught the animal right in the heart, killing it instantly. The lights dimmed, then the place was back to normal.

Speaker: "You have completed the medium difficulty level of phase one. Please come back later when you feel you are ready for the hard difficulty."

MxPx turned off his saber and reclipped it in its proper position. He walked out of the room, turning off the lights just before he shut the door.

The next morning when MxPx awaked it was around 7 AM. It was a warm morning, so he didn't wear the normal Jedi attire, he wore some jeans and a white t-shirt. He grabbed his lightsaber as he exited his bedroom and headed toward training room he had been in the past two days. He got to the building and entered. He went straight to the computer, and programmed it for Phase 1 Hard. He pressed the button to start the simulation, and then mentally prepaired himself. He had the Force channeling through his body in minutes. He was moving fast to be a new Jedi, but unlike most, he had been using the Force most of his life, just not on large scales such as he did now.

This would be his last battle in this jungle world, and MxPx was ready to get out of it. It was too hot and muggy in the synthetic climate that had been programmed into the training computer. But a ripple in the Force interrupted his thought. He turned around in time to see the large bird soar between two trees and come straight for his face. He was ready though. He did a quick kickflip, and his foot caught the bird right under the neck. It made a few small noises, but finally died. He didnt spend much time looking at his victim, however, because two of the large wookie type animals were coming from opposite directions. He kicked one of them down, but the other grabbed him from the back and let its partner hit him in the face. The beast tried it again, but this time MxPx was ready. He ducked, and one of the animals hit its friend, knocking it out. He then picked up his lightsaber, which had been knocked out of his hand when the animal grabbed him, and stuck it straight through the thing's heart. As he withdrew his saber, the other beadt woke up, and tried to attack him. MxPx kicked it in the stomach, and then stuck the saber through its head. Just then one of the lion-type beasts from two days ago jumped down from a tree, slashing open MxPx's arm. But he ignored the pain and quickly eliminated this new threat. And before he had time to think about his arm, a large worm shot out of the dirt and almost bit his leg off. But he had been expecting this.....or better yet, the Force had. MxPx moved his leg out of the way, and with his saber, cut the animal from neck to tail, and killing the worm inside of it also. Thinking this was all, MxPx deignited his saber. But as he was doing so,two battle droids rolled out of the bushes, their lasers firing. One of the shots caught MxPx on his right leg, making him fall to the ground. He quickly regained his balance, and used the trees to his advantage. He leaped into the leaves on a large branch, and then quietly fell back down behind the droids. With one swift swing, he cut off both of the droids' heads. He again thought it was over, but kept his saber up just in case.

Speaker: You have completed all of Phase 1. When you think you are ready to start Phase 2, come back to begin.[/i]

MxPx put his saber away and hobbled out of the room to get his wounds treated.
